Well, I've been doing better the last 2 days. I've managed to stay within my points and it hasn't really been much of a struggle. I'm not sure why. It's normally a major fight with me but I haven't been extremely hungry. I've been able to turn down stuff that I normally would really like to eat. I baked a cake 2 days ago and haven't eaten any of it. Of course I'll probably have a piece today cause we're celebrating my nephews birthday. But I still have plenty of points to spare. Normally all my extra points would have been gone after the first 2 days but I've only used a few of them. I haven't really done any excercising but I guess because of my depression my energy level has plumited again. I'll probably go for a walk today. Hope everyone else is doing well.
serena
Hi girls, hope everyone had a great weekend and Nori I hope your mom's surgery went well. Serena: maybe the spring season has gotten you back on track.
I'm still at 18 lbs. today but I didn't do that great over the weekend (plus TOM is here I think), I didn't eat a lot but not the right things. We had a dinner party last night and the things I shouldn't have had were wine and a 1" slice of a pumpkin streusel pie I had made. Also two chocolate chip cookies that I baked on Saturday. Also, I had gravy on my turkey DH also made a leg of lamb but I didn't eat any of that.
We had a fishing buddy of DH over for dinner. The man is 86 and a riot. He played DD new piano like a pro and said he never had a lesson in his life. He was in WWI and was full of stories. My mom, sister and my neighbors came over as well, it was fun for spur of the moment.
I am going to concentrate on water today to get rid of some of the salt in my body! I haven't had my period since December! It's very light though, I may have to call in for a prescription to get it going normal....happens all the time.
B: Bagel w/ little cream cheese L: 2 choc chip cookies D: turkey w/ gravy, potatoes, green beans, cranberry, sausage stuffing, 1/2 reduced fat biscuit, 1" slice of pumpkin streusel pie Pts: 40? Exercise: none Water: none (Big problem area)!!!!
I took another trip to Goodwill yesterday and bought myself a nice long tan skirt and black knit top, a pair of exercise pants (now I have to use them!) and a couple of things for each of the kids and a pair of jeans for my friends from Express for $1.00 I also hit a rummage sale Saturday morning at a local church that was $1.00 for a brown bag full of clothes! I didn't find anything great but got a few things.
I just realized my boss has a meeting in his office and I need to get my milk and cereal out of there! I hope the meeting doesn't last long because I'm starving!! I may break down the door shortly. Hope to hear from everyone this week. Mo
How's my favorite bunch? I've been gone for a few weeks, decided to lay low for awhile until I could get myself together and quit my whining. I am doing much better and feel really good.
As of today I am starting over weight wise and + some. I'm okay with it tho', I always said I would never give up no matter how many new beginnings I had to take to get to goal. So here I am!
Have had a busy few weeks, kids were off for spring break last week and I started some spring cleaning. I started feeling really good with the new meds and felt like cleaning, so I spent days doing that. I actually had a good time with it and it really gave me a feel-good-about-myself accomplishment. Always feels good to be in a real clean house!
I have been looking for a puppy! I have wanted one for years and finally I think we are in a position to have one. My kids are old enough to help which is good. DH says I only want one because I'm itching for another baby!
Yeah, right! I never was allowed a dog when I was young so now is my chance! Cannot wait!!
Has anyone had any experience with blue lights? You know the ones for seasonal affective disorder? I'm thinking about getting one, as I've noticed especially this year for some reason, that with it getting sunnier and warmer my moods are so much better. This will help keep me on track with diet and exercise I think.
Ladies, it's so good to be back here with all of you. I hope you have all had a beautiful start to your week. I look forward to spending lots of time here getting healthy & getting back into the swing of things again. I sure missed you.
Keep shining!

Hi there, Danielle and welcome back! I do have a friend who benefits from blue lights. He has a lot of physical problems in addition to depression - like severe food allergies, eczema... Anyways, he has used them for years. Especially in the winter and fall. He lives in rainy Salem, Oregon and it is grey a lot there.
Maureen is officially in ONEderland now!! Congrats girl! Drink loads of water today and you'll be down tomorrow. BTW - is that normal for you to have such irregular periods? I'd have been freaking out thinking I was pregnant! Fishing buddy sould like fun! My grandfather has stoooooories too. WWII and otherwise. I like listening.
Serena - glad you are feeling better and were abel to save points. I bet as the weather gets nicer, you'll continue to feel better.
I lost 2.5 this week. Maybe I can be in ONEderland by my 35th birthday on July 15th. I keep not trying to set dated goals, but this one keeps creaping back into my thoughts.
My DH's birthday is tomorrow - so that means I'm making a cake. As long as it's out of the house by the next day, I should be fine. Get this, he wants liver and onions for dinner. So I'm making extra dinner tonight for the rest of us to have tomorrow night!
What are blue lights?
I do feel better with the weather but unfortunately all it takes is 5 minutes outside and I'm sneezing and draining and sick as a dog. I've never been big on medications though(didn't even take pain medicines after my surgeries) but I think my allergies make me feel worse than my surgeries did. LOL. Plus even the day time formula medicines cause me to just want to sleep.
Anyway, my oldest sons allergies have been bothering him really bad too. He stays stopped up all night and can't sleep. I don't really know what to do for him.
Mo - LOL on the belt loop. I have had 2 pairs in the past pop beltloops....LOL.....
Serena - way to go with keeping within your points!!! And what a good idea to take a walk. For some reason, the more you exercise, the more you feel like doing it. Then you feel like something is missing when you don't exercise.
Danielle - how fun to get a puppy! We have a dog that I rescued years ago. He's been the best pet we could have ever wished for!!! And way to go getting back on track!
Danielle: I hope you inspire me to clean my house. It is a great feeling when you get things accomplished isn't it. Glad you're back with us. I've been "not good" the last two weeks or so and I am slowly trying to pull myself back all the way onto the wagon seat again. We adopted a mutt (1/2 golden 1/2 collie) about two years ago and except for a couple of incidents where she's nipped a young neighbor, she's been great. We learned to put her food way out of the way, that's what she was possessive of. She's also adjusted to the electric fence which was well worth the cost. Good luck in whatever puppy you find, I've found that mutts are much healthier than full breeds though, but it's just your personal preference.
Serena: DH put a humidifier in my DD room last week and it seems to help a little. DD also takes a chewable Zyrtec for her allergies and it also seems to help. I've had a cough and tickle for almost two weeks, probably allergies, although I never suffered from them before. Just another problem added as I age!
Nori: I meant WWII, I laughed after I re-read my post. Hope your mom is doing well. I love the new picture, the baby carrier brings back memories! LOL
Sarah: I think I might have the beans tonight or tomorrow, I've been thinking about them! I still haven't tried the smoothy yet either.
Another not so great day: 6B: cereal L: Lean Cuisine S: two cookies D: leftovers (turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans w/ little gravy) and a small piece of pie
Points: 36? Water: none (fountain water was disgusting) Exercise: just shopping with kids after piano practice, 4200 steps for the day (just over 2 miles)
I'll try to go buy water at lunchtime or after work tonight. Have a great day!
Mo - I didn't actually notice the WWI reference! I just noticed that he was the same age approx as my Gpa!
Sarah - My Mom is doing great actually. A little sore and tender - but that's to be expected I guess. She had a hysterectomy in addition to bladder repair and reconstructive surgery on her vagina (due to a rectocele (sp?)). I guess that can be needed after pushing 7 kids out. She said childbirth was a cinch compared to this though! I will not be trying to find out what condition I'm in after 7 kids!
Well, gotta get some work done and when DH gets home we are going to go for a hike. Trying out some new trails today. Should take 2 hours.
Hello everyone! I am back! I had a great weekend! BUT now I am back to the mess here! Things here are getting crazier by the hour it seems. I just have so much on my plate that I do not know what to do. I have been faithfully seeing my trainer, I have the sore muscles to prove it. Well, I have caught up on all of the reading since I have been gone. Do not have times for personals yet! So glad to be back, though! LOL to all of you!
Catherine
Welcome back Catherine! Way to go with the trainer, send some motivation and willpower this way.
Boy, I got a wake up call this morning, I ate bad again last night and this morning I unofficially weighed and was up 2 lbs!!! I've been slacking off a lot of the eating, exercising and I've never been good at the water. I do have my period which might account for the increased appetite...yes, I'm trying to find an excuse!
As far as TOM, I've never been regular. In fact I had to take a fertility drug in order to have kids, so no I don't really worry when it doesn't come. The bad thing is that sometimes when I finally get TOM, it's light and drags on for a long time and then I have to get a prescription that stops it and starts it again (regularly) so then it's like having it for 3 weeks. I think that might be what's happening this time.
Anyone watch Idol last night? I'm not much for country music so I didn't really like any of the performances. I did vote for Elliot Yamin based on his previous performances.
B: cereal L: Lean Cuisine, pretzels S: RF wheat thins w/ cheese
D: hotdog on roll, beans & RF sunchips D: granola bar & 2 pt. ice cream
Pts: 36? Exercise: none Water: 16 oz
I did stop and buy salad stuff for dinner tonight, my big problem is as soon as I walk through the door at night. I can't wait for dinner to be prepared and I start picking, as with the wheat thins. Then I watched the Women's NCAA championship and I ate the granola and ice cream, it was a good game did anybody watch it? Maryland won in overtime...maybe it was nervous eating!
Well have a great day, I can't believe it was in the 60's over the weekend and today it's snowing like mad!
I got back from my trip Sunday but I was too tired to post. I had a blast! The cabin was super-nice and the view was wonderful. It was nice to get away from everything. I'm so glad I got accepted to my dream college, but now I have to deal with lots of confusion and a big financial aid mess. I'm the first person from my family to go to college so we are all very confused!
Food and exercise flew out the window on my trip. I was constantly munching! I was hoping the 3+ hours of walking I did each day would counteract all those excess calories. Well, I gained 2.5 pounds but I can't tell if it's from food or PMS bloat. I'll just have to wait and see. Food in under control, but I need to buy more oatmeal. I swear, I don't know how I could live without my oatmeal!
Welcome back Catherine and Danielle!
Nori- It's good to hear that your mom is doing well. Keep us updated!
I think we're going to call the college soon. I hope it goes well!
Have a great day everyone!
{edit: I was SO CLOSE to my March weight goal of 160- 161! I'll never find out if I made it because of bloating, but I think I did great!}
