Hello everyone,
I only have one week of finals left then I'm off for a month. No weight loss yet. Things have been too crazy so far. I've decided to give that -3 small meal and 3 small snacks a day plan- a try. We'll see if it works. At least my Dr. Will be happy, he's been trying to get me to eat that way just for my blood sugar control.

BBWonwheels- that sounds so fustrating. I went through some of that, I was eating my meals but they where too far apart. My dietition told me the if you wait too long inbetwean meals your body thinks it's starving and will store fat and prepaire for famine. YIKES, I'm afraid to not eat often enough. right now I'm trying that George Cruise plan, all it really is, is eating 400 calorie meals and 100 calorie snacks and timing them every three hours-never going past four hours (thats when a persons body goes into "starvation" mode") Hope this helps.

Cool

Hi, all. Thanks for your concern Rosey & Glen. I've been reading but not posting. Been very busy at work lately. Rosey - how's that foot. I watch my feet very carefully. Even had the landlord remove the shower doors from my bathroom because I kept cutting my foot on the tracks. (Also makes the bathroom much easier to clean. ). Congratulations on the weight loss. That's wonderful! You've really made some lifestyle changes.
BB - sorry that you're having trouble with weight loss. Since someone has to hold you on the scale, there might be a possibility that the scale isn't accurate? Also you might double check your calories. There are calorie calculators on WebMD and Fitday sites that might help.
Mazarin - how's the metformin going? I recently increased mine to 1500 mg a day. It's brought my a.m. sugars down from 150s to 140s. Still too high though.

Wink

I'm on Metformin..same dosage also. When I started on my meds, in 2 weeks, I lost 14 pounds!!! I ate right, drank my daily intake of water, exercised 30 minutes everyday.

I wish you well! My doctor says when I lose at least 35 pounds, there's a good chance I will be able to get of my meds!! Not holding my breath though. I know I'll lose the weight, but I heard of people who lost ALL their weight and are still on their meds.

Hi everyone. I thought I'd jump in an introduce myself. My name is Kim, I am 42, T2 diabetic (10/03) and live near Salt Lake City Utah. I have been through all the ranges of emotions in regards to the diabetes. At first shock, then anger, depression, denial, all that. Mainly frustration I'd say. I have no insurance and can't really afford meds even though I've got RX for metformin and glyburide. I've tried diet and exercise (ok, I'll admit, not too dedicated) and have participated in two research studies. My glucose averages around 250, A1C 8. I am hoping to get some minimal insurance for poor people the first of the year so I can go to the Dr regularly. I think I'll be signing up for another research study too, they've got one for an inhalable insulin (does not make you dependent on insulin) which sounds interesting. Or, the hypertension study. Most of you probably know about high blood pressure too huh

Anyway, tomorrow is another day and I'm starting my Calorie Queen "plan" (using WW Points to make it a bit easier) and walking 20 minutes. No excuses.

Just a suggestion. How about a new thread each month? We could start in January. I find myself wanting to reply to posts that are a couple months old and not relevant anymore.
