for me its not that it is harder per se - but I am bored and want to get going
but if I'm sore or tired its hard for me to push faster than a trot ;0 (until I get going - unless its hot - like a few days ago - and then my body is like - haha NO)
B
ps - to make yourself a better runner with more lung power do intervals - but when you are "cooling" don't walk - do a slower jog and take deep breaths.

I find it easier when I am running faster because my momentum is up and it isn't as "hard" to push forward.

I sometimes feel I am not running very fast in fact I am - my sister once commented that she'd seen me running while she was on the bus and that I looked like I was flying - i thought that was very nice of her lol.

I don't like slow running or jogging...it feels heavier and it actually hurts my joints more. I can feel each THUD!

Bida - I loathe intervals lol. I have only just started making myself do them when I am running alone. My boyfriend has much more will power and so when we run together we tend to do them...much more frequently than I would like!

I wish it was harder for me to run slower! I find my mind wandering and suddenly I realize I've slowed down and I have to force myself to pick up the pace!

I ran 3.7 miles yesterday (finally broke my 3 mile block)

I'm still thinking about the running group - thanks for everyone's opinions on that! I also have a friend that used to be a runner until a knee injury - but now she wants to start running again so hopefully we go out together sometime soon.

Lyria - I have problems doing intervals on my own too. We do them in my bootcamp but when I'm running on my own I just can never get myself to sprint.

Hope everyone has some good runs planned this week!

I've heard lots of people say that when they run their mind wanders or they can think about things but I can't at all! Every single thought I have is focused on my breathing and controlling it and for the entire run my mind will be completely void of thoughts other than "in, 2, 3, out 2, 3." I either have fantastic focus or I can't multitask in my own head! lol

Wisher - I'll say that means you have fantastic focus
I need to work on that - my mind goes all over the place - sometimes I'll be running and I will look around and realize I missed my turn and have to turn back (Yes... I've even gotten lost once or twice.. or five times...)

guh, I had a bad run today...boyfriend dropped me off at the grocery store, and I ran home while he did the shopping. It was a really short run (only 2.5km), but I just felt so gross! I felt heavy and slow...it was really hot and the air quality not so good, so that probably had something to do with it. blech. I'm hoping for a better (and longer!) one tomorrow.

I had a fantastic run tonight. I rarely run in the evening (it's usually too hot) but it was raining this evening when I got home and jumped at the chance to go (since I hadn't been since saturday). It was great, I totally love running in the rain! I never would have thought I would like it but once I moved to the desert I'll find an excuse to get out and do anything in the rain! And I'm also proud to report I did my old route which I haven't run in atleast a month and I shaved 10 minutes off the time it took me to do it before!

wow - can running ever effect my mood! I was in such a funk last night - like low and sad and everything - and mad - and then I went running. Finally. short - maybe 2 miles - but I ran hardesque - and my mood went from a 0 to a high. I was so happy and feeling so good - why don't I realize this until it is too late???? (i didn't excersize yest - maybe that was part of the problem? and stress?) so just run!
just do it!

It's the endorphins...I get so tetchy and irritable if I don't get my run in...or at least some form of physical activity (but running is the best!) and when I finish i'm on such a high. I can be hyper for an hour or so afterward lol.

I'm an addict...I need my high lol.

Hey everyone I'll join your group I can't run, my asthma prevents it. But I do jog. I'm working up to a run. The longest I've done is 4 miles, but I also take "walking breaks" in order to be able to breathe. Not too long though. Last night I did a total of 35 minutes, and maybe 10 of that was walking.

I know what you mean about getting the high though. Some days ALL I WANT TO DO is get out there jog, and I'm all antsy and full of energy until I do! Its like I just REALLY need to release it.

Modkitten - sounds like you're a runner! 4 miles! That's awesome!

I agree with everyone - running definately puts me in such a good mood. I love it, especially when I go in the morning. It gets me all ready for the rest of the day.

Yesterday I had a good run - I like the new loop I made by my house. It's 3.6 miles and only 3 stop lights to deal with

Today in bootcamp we had the timed mile. 3 months ago I ran it in 9:09 and today it was 7:33 so I am happy. My goal was 7:30 so almost made it!

Went for a run this morning and was struck down with one of the worst cramps I've had in months! It was so frustrating I wanted to cry. That'll learn me for having breakfast mere moments before setting off lol.

I still went the full loop so was 8.4kms (just over 5miles) but it did take a little longer than it normally would unfortunately. Only a few mins though

I might go do the spin class tonight and then it's boot camp tomorrow morning...at least I am not so sore anymore from that!

I just walked yesterday. Apparently it was getting late and DH thought that meant we weren't going to go jogging, so he ended up having a couple of beers. When I said "I'm ready to jog now!" He said "uhm.. yeah I can't do that!" hahaha So we just went for a 30 minute walk instead. Oh well! Today its back to jogging

I don't know why, but I'm absolutely exhausted tonight. I'm still going to force myself to go out and jog though. I want to get at least 20 minutes in.
