Ta all! Yeah I was worried! At least I know I need my meat! It was the weeks I have done more reds that I have lost the most weight. It's helped that I was off this week, so I didn't touch one manky Jacket spud!
Need to continue this when back at work next week!

Mands that is AMAZING Well done!

I'm going out to town today (I have a holiday day) so I will buy a pg test and see!

I have come to the conclusion that the blues are from overtraining. I had an inkling but last night really rammed it home! I was so unmotivated for my double kickboxing. I just gave up trying after about 40 minutes, which is not like me at all. So the strategy for next week is to go to my private lesson tomorrow (wahey!), then not go to classes again till the Monday after. I'm taking a whole week off kickboxing and running AND weights. I might stretch occasionally. Oh and another reason for the overtraining, I've got about 3 or 4 niggling injuries that just got worse last night, so I need some TLC. My eating is going to be 2000 kcal of healthy fruit and veg and protein and lovely wholegrain carbs. More TLC.

But today is a free day! WAHEY, I've had gingerbread men for breakfast, and I'm planning a lovely lunch out at the greatest sandwich bar of all time, then shopping in Topshop on Oxford St and Roller Disco tonight. Perfect day

Mands - 6 and a half pounds.... WELL DONE!!

Frus - Good luck with the test. I hope it goes whichever way you would prefer. Even though I was always happy about being pregnant I was always very down in the dumps for the first three months. Good idea to have a bit of a break from training no matter whats causing you to feel blue.

Ky - Whats going to happen next with your carpet? You can't stay isolated for ever... can you????

Lovely walk this morning - saw a herd of about 20 deer. We got quite close before they all ran away. I'm not sure when deer have their babies but some of them were very small.

We've decided to change doctors. A woman who walks her dog at the same time as me has said that the practice in the next village has opened up its list but we make the change very quickly. I can't wait, neither of us really trust our doctor. He has misdiagnosed every single thing we've ever gone to him about - usually we're better by the time he gets it right. The only problem I've got with changing doctors is that I will have to have another medical - and the last time I had one of them I failed miserably even though I was 2 stone lighter than I am now.

I've just used FitDay to work out the calories I've used this morning - I've done 2.5 hours of walking and 30 mins on the exercise bike and Fitday gave the total as 1014. Then I had a look at the exercise to calorie counter tool on the NHS Direct website and, for the same exercise, it gave the calories used as 1425. THEN I checked the calorie counter on my pedometer and it gave the calories used on just my walk as 1624 (I've got it set up correctly with my weight, etc)!

Makes you wonder just how much the people that set up these things know about what they're doing - I can't believe there can be such a difference. I'm off on holiday at the weekend and, while I don't expect to lose any weight, I am hopeing to maintain my current weight by setting a minimum limit of my BMR and then add on the calories of the walking/swimming I'll be doing - but that's going to be difficult if I don't know which calculation to believe.

Hi all. The plan is that the carpet will be hoovered in about 3 weeks time, then I'll go back and trial it. So until then my desk is secure. I am feeling happier about it. I pop back into the office from time to time to try and get used to it. I can last about 90 minutes or so. As long as the windows are open!!!

Frus, hope your back to your normal sparky self soon. Shopping will help!!!!

I swam this morning, such a fab way to start the day, it was really peaceful at the pool. I'm back to the gym at night for upper body weight training. I haven't done this program before, so it will be interesting to see how we go!

Day off again from the exercise tomorrow, then running and swimming on Sunday! Phew!

Hello to you all

You are all doing so well. I got on the scales this morning and it read
ten stone 4 and a half pounds I was thrilled. My week has been a bit stressful and I have a coldsore on my lip the size of Canada it has been so painful.

Starting weight 14 stone 10lbs
Current weight 10 stone 4 and half pounds
Goal weight 9 stone 7lbs or a little lower if I can as I am short!

Hi girls,

You're all so cahtty. I haven't been able to post of late. Have been busy and shocked and surprised My Mum and Auntie turned up on my doorstep last week, and surprised the pooh out of me... they flew out here for my birthday How lovely is that?

They're here for a month, so I'm all excited and happy and not really being very good food wise, as they brought two suitcases of tea and chocs with them Mint aero was devoured in two days... I did have help from the kids though... working on a lovely galaxy bar at present... I'm so naughty, but I can't resist... am going to Curves though, so not gaining

Chat again soon.

2lb lost this week - so I've made it to 15st just in time to go away tomorrow - I still don't know where we're going - my DH loves surprises! (Please don't let it be Cornwall again - its a lovely county but I gained SO much weight there last year!)

Mary - I'm finding the more exercise I'm doing the more energy I seem to have - although I am sleeping VERY well.

Chris - Ah, that's lovely about your Mum and Auntie. I think it anyone dropped in on me for a month I'd get stuck in to the chocie as well.

Michelle - Well done! 4st 5.5lbs gone - thats wonderful!

Bliss, a lie in and I've got the house to myself all day with no exercise planned, plus I've been to the supermarket (at 12.30 last night on the way home ) so I don't need to leave the house, I can just cook and clean.

The decisions I mentioned in passing the other night are that I'm giving up meat for a month or so to see how it goes (unless I end up gaining weight on it in which case I'll stop doing it), and that I'm finally going to get round to changing my goal weight to a little under 160. Either 150 or 155 to start with (I think that my goal will be to be anywhere between the two).

It was funny last night, I was back on a table at the rugby with some people i sat with last year and they didn't recognise me. Which would be impressive apart from the fact I've only lost a stone and a half or two stone since I last saw them, and they didn't notice the first four and a half - five at all (or at least they didn't mention it!) I suppose that's the difference from going to very fat to slightly less fat, compared to going from slightly less fat to vaguely normal.

Frus, hope that the pg test goes OK, Kyk I hope you enjoy your day off too.

Right, I have cooking and cleaning to do. I'm going to cook up a big batch of bean soup rather than buying it ready made, and then it's pasta later

Sarah Ann and all you other losers - wow, there seems to be an avalanche of weight loss going on at this site at the moment. Everyone's going like the clappers - apart from me, of course . But what the ****, at least I broke through my plateau, and I've lost over 25% of my original starting weight. I AM SERENE about how long this is taking.

Frus - are you hoping for a negative or positive result in the test? Personally I'd have headed straight for a hot bath with a bottle of gin, but good luck to you if babies are part of your plans. But I have to agree with Cat, I'm guessing it's probably muscle in your case.

Woohooo, I'm off to Cambridge in a couple of hours for my sister's wedding. I just hope the outfit still fits - I've lost half a stone since I bought it, and it was a little on the large side even then. As long as it doesn't fall down during the photo session I should be fine. At Kim's mum's wedding back in August I managed to tuck the back of my skirt into my knickers so I'm hoping for a less traumatic day today .

Enjoy your weekend everyone,

Janey

I'm not pregnant

Just fat and grumpy! Phew!

We are off to check out the Barbican for our wedding plans. We will have a date today probably. Then we are going to Lakeside shopping, DF has to "work" there. It's a hard life, just as long as he's paying!

Hi Frus - good news about the test!

Ooohhhhh!!!! Exciting - just got a phone call that DH's daughter has gone in to labour a month early, they are trying to stop the labour because the baby is small but I have a feeling we might not be getting much of a holiday.

Very exciting, I hope it all goes OK!!! (and congrats on the test, if that's the result you wanted )

I've got some soup cooking now, and I've done a couple of tidying jobs so I'm pleased with my progress today, even if I haven't exactly got dressed yet...
