I'm on my TOM so scale is showing 171.8 today, gonna keep working out and hope that when it goes I get that flush of weight drop and will finally be in the 160's!
Everyone here is working so hard, I actually went back to when this thread started in January, because of tickers and peoples profiles I can see a lot of the people from then to now are now in their 160's, 150's and some even lower! That's definately motivation. If they could do it so can I!

Great idea! Other people's progress on here is totally inspiring.
169.5!!!! I can't remember the last time I saw that!! Woohoo!! I'm not goin anywhere just yet tho. My scale goes by half pounds lol. I'm gonna make sure this sticks for a few days first
Man I am so bummed it's been two and a half weeks since I started working out again for the first time consistently in like a year and a half, plus eating so much better than I have in a long time, and I'm still only at a 2 pound weight loss. I'm the first to admit my eating is far from perfect, but compared to what it used to be it rocks.
I'm at 171.6 this morning, because I was a lazy bum and did not work out yesterday. I'm still on my TOM though. I know if I work out today and make sure I'm good the rest of the week I can get there, especially once this water weight drops!
Kate, I feel you. I'm losing at a rate of a pound a week, sometimes less. I have an issue with consistency and will binge randomly throwing off all my efforts. Overall I'm still losing, and so are you. Keep it up, work hard and you will get there Have you tried calorie counting? That was a wake up call for me. You don't realize how much you eat when you have to count it.

Ughh so frustrating!
Sorry you're feeling so frustrated! Out of curiosity, are you weighing your food or just eyeballing it? I have to get a food scale myself now that I've moved, but when I was back in my old place, I noticed that a food scale really helped in terms of keeping accurate records of what I was taking in. Personally, I have to be careful of things with sodium in them on weigh-in days... I guess I'm really salt-sensitive.
I was actually thinking of getting a food scale, I was reading about how nutritional information will be inaccurate as the food sometimes weighs more or less then what is stated on the packaging. I guess I'm just slacking off in actually doing it.
(And boy, do I need to cut down on the salt, that's probably where all this bloat is coming from)
So I'm officially in the 170s and it's not a fluke. Only half a pound this week, but the good thing is, according to the scale, I dropped 2% in body fat and gained a little more than 1% in muscle. I'll take that

Rock on! Welcome here! You know, you guys are giving me a good idea with the measurement. Sometimes it can be really disheartening to not see the scale move, but maybe if I start measuring inches and body fat that will keep my motivation when the scale won't budge. Hmm...

That was a HUGE wake up call for me too. I started counting and realized WOW! There are HUGE amounts of calories in foods I used to eat all the time, that portion size wise weren't that big. I mean, I didn't think McDonald's was healthy or anything, but I didn't think a quarter pounder with cheese and a medium fry was that much food. Yeah, almost 1000 calories combined! Which is almost an entire day's worth of calories!
I haven't been as strict with the calorie counting lately, but just having an idea of what calories are in different foods helps me to make better choices.

I don't know how much water you're drinking, either, especially with the sodium stuff. I read one of the stickies on this forum about fluid intake and decided to up my water content. I thought I had been drinking plenty of water... well, guess I was wrong! I swear, I started peeing out way more fluid than I drank (sorry if TMI), and the scale was down when I checked this morning! It's counterintuitive, but the more you drink to a certain point, I am now a believer that the more your body will let go of. I see now that my body truly was holding on to some water weight (and my sodium intake and not drinking enough water weren't exactly helping that!)
That's awesome Alicia! I'm at 172 this morning, despite half an hour on the treadmill and a half hour doing weights yesterday. But still bloated.
fivestone, I definately feel the water weight. I've been drinking more water to counter it, but I haven't gotten that 'flush' yet. I still need to drink much more, and the salt doesn't help :S
