I have been out for my run - they are getting easier, at last! - this morning, early, since it is supposed to be hot and thundery here again today. My mum and DH and I spent yesterday afternoon begin delightfully lazy and playing board games - it was a really nice day!
Hope everyone is doing well and having a good day -
Another dull and cool day shaping up for Atlantic Canada. Must be that "great big lake effect" again . . . Lobster Carnival is over for another year and once again, the weather was not entirely cooperative.
Anyway . . . I've got things to do and places to go today . . . hope you all have a great moving and shaking bunch of fun stuff planned. See you later . . .
This summer has been an awful one for us hasn't it.I love the warm days and I want them back. I have uped my weights for a couple of my arm exercises. Man I look funny working out now I can only get in something like 8-6-6 but I will improve it is the only way to gain strnth and muscle so I have to push myself.
Rain, rain, go away, come agai - oh, wait! It stopped! Actually, the rain cleared this afternoon just in time for DD to have her very first swimming lesson! She goes to the house of one of my students in a neighboring town, and WOW! What a house this is - there's a pool, tennis court, beautiful gardens, and an amazing view of the ocean! She has four more weeks; maybe I can manage to move us in!
Ilene - sounds like a wonderful night out in the gazebo! But, were you feeding beer and wine to the stray cats????
Heather - board games are so much fun! Right now, we're pretty limited to Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders, but it won't be long to Pictionary and Cranium!
I can't believe that, after the crazy Maine weekend, I managed to lose 2 pounds! Must be all the fresh produce and vegetarianism....
It is grey skies out my way. I just got back in from weigh in and no suprise I have maintained . I expected this . I think for the summer that is my plan . Maintain and I will start up again in September.
I am off today and I think I am going to do some house chores and possibly get my 4yr old to help out a little with her toys.
I'm off to a good start today, with a yummy breakfast eaten and a good lunch packed up before I left for work. It's *hot* in Vancouver today - supposed to hit 34 this afternoon, which is quite unusual out here. I'm not looking forward to playing softball in the heat, but I'll just load up on water and sunscreen.
Wow that really is unusual for a Coast. We are still pretty cool down here but sounds like all you westerners are about to send us a bunch of your heat and humidity for tomorrow. Don't mind a little heat . . . but boy, sure could do without the humidity part.
Sounds like a good plan, Chocco . . . I think I've been 'practicing maintenance' all year so far . . . although tha'ts not what I've been trying to do.
I think tomorrow will be a good day to try some floor excercises .
Will let you know if i squeeze them into my schedule .
Today was good . My food choices were not good but not that bad either .
Have tried drinking more water than i have been lately ; as it is so important to keep flushing the toxins out of our bodies . ( if I can only keep that thought fresh in my mind ) I am contemplating starting up my daily food journal again .
Well Meowee even if you are not trying to maintain it is way better to maintain than to go up in number , I know it can be frustrating but I think you are doing great . Keep on trucking !!!
Remember the Tortoise . . . Remember the Tortoise . . . Remember the Tortoise . . . Hardly a day goes by that I don't say that to someone somewhere around 3FC.
Guess I just have to keep telling myself the same thing . . . especially every Wednesday as I watch my weight on my "official" day of the week sit about 2 pounds higher than it was the Sunday before . . . but, at least it is a magnificent 0.2 lower than it was last Wednesday. Oh well . . . the general direction is encouraging and the things I've learned and the good habits I've formed in the past year and a half are also encouraging.
Oh . . . yeah . . . Good Morning everybody . . . . . . Have a great day and I'll see you all later . . .
Just a quick "peep" from Massachusetts - it isn't often that I get a chance to "peck in" in the a.m.!
Hey, Chantal - Keep up the good work! It really does get easier....
Chocco - My four year old loves to do housework. Where did she get THAT gene???? Oh, well - at least housework burns calories!
Meowee - That's right - "Slow and steady wins the race"! That's become my mantra on this weight loss journey. And I think sometimes I forget that it's a "life choice", and not a quick fix. Thanks for the reminder!
Heather - Thanks for the support! Although sometimes it feels like two pounds forward, five pounds back!
Hazy, hot, and humid today on the coast. But, as the local meteorologists around here like to say, we're expecting some "cool Canadian air" for the rest of the week. Thanks, guys!
I'm sure I'll pop in again tonight. Have a great day, All!
Morning all! Softball last night was satisfying - we played a good game, and boy did I ever work up a sweat - lots of base running in all that heat!
Meowee - maintenance is better than gaining, which has happened for me this week (GRR), and you are right - a slow, steady trend downwards is still down!
Since many of you seem farther along in your journeys than I am, any tips for turning things back in the direction I want them? I lost for a while pre-3FC, then maintained for a while, and in the last few weeks, a few pounds have slowly made their way back on... Any suggestions for getting my head back on track?
practiseliving I find if I look at my day the night before and make a plan, I have more success, if not complete success.
And then checking in here at 3FC first thing in the morning to let you all know what my commitment is, helps too. Then if I am thinking of going off plan, the 3FC support groups pop into my head. Sometimes that helps me stay OP.
