Michelle- although part of me hates weeks when I maintain, I always remind myself that's better than gaining, right? And then a new week starts, filled with potential
I have a question for those of you on WW or familiar with the Wendie Plan. I'm seriously considering trying the Wendie Plan thing, just to shake things up for a little while, but I'm kind of hesitant about it. Should I wait a week and see if my weight loss is back on track, ortry the Wendie plan as a way of remotivating me and later return to my normal points plan again? I feel like, emotionally, it would help me refocus . . . but I don't want to mess up a good thing I suppose I could try it and if I gain or something, stop after a week, right?
Leigh my opinion is that do what YOU feel is good for you!! If you want to try something new then by all means do it If it doesn't work then lesson learned and you can move on I don't know anything about the wendie plan though so you may want to ask spryng about that Hang in there girly you are doing sooo awesome!!
Michelle
Leigh...maybe now is the time to weigh weekly and not watch the scale daily. I think you are letting the daily numbers affect you too much. It's only normal for the weight loss to slow as you get closer to your goal, but a loss is still a loss, even if it's only 1/4 pound, ya know??? My numbers go up and down all week, but the one that really counts is the one on my planned weigh in day. Maybe you could weigh once mid week to see if you need to change what you are doing a bit before the big day. I also think that saving your flex points for one day is very close to the way the wendie plan works, but if you want to try it a week and see what happens, go for it!!!! Ya never know til you try! but I wouldn't really stress over it until you stay the same weight for WEEKS at a time. That is really what I would think is a platau.
As for me, I stayed the same this week again. I haven't eaten my best the last couple of days, but I have really been exercising daily at least 15 minutes, often more! So I am okay with it, because it might just be muscle mass! I have my new "eyes" and am feeling much better!
Let's all commit to the BEST week on plan YET!!! WE can do this TOGETHER ladies!! Put your plan in writing and DO IT! Post your goals for the week here, so we can help keep you going! If we could get through one week on plan, we could see how easy it would be to continue for another...and another! What do ya say???
For breakfast I had a Nutty Bar...need I say more????? But it was really good!
Thanks, Michelle. I was kind of thinking the same thing - I figure if it doesn't work and I have bad results, I can go back to my normal point range. Wendie Plan mixes things up a bit by giving you varied point ranges each day depending on your current point range/weight. This isn't it, exactly, just an eample, but it's like:
Monday: 22 points
Tuesday: 24 points
Wednesday: 35 points
Thursday: 22 points
Friday: 25 points (and so on).
It's hard to figure out what I want to do Maybe it's just because TOM will be here in 7 days and I'm on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. I started feeling bad about my weight again after I made the mistake of looking at old pictures of me - long before the baby. I know I'm working hard to get in shape and be healthy, but sometimes it's just sooooo hard.
Thanks for all the encouragement, though
ooohhhhhh cindi I loooovveee Nutty bars you evil woman you!!! Now I'm craving one Glad you maintained thats definately better than a gain!
Leigh so does the wendie plan let you have flex points or do you just eat more points some days less others? It sounds neat but I think I wouldn't be able to do it lol not stable enough for me lol I'd end up having 3 35 pt days in a row or something lol.
Leigh, I've read about the Wendie plan and it totally makes sense to me. I think your body gets used to things and just doesn't budge. I've written down the points in a way that will suite my lifestyle, making sure I get the super high points (for me 37) on Friday night. When I get back from my sisters I'm going to really give it a try. On this vacation I plan to stay OP, but it will be difficult, so I'm not going to try the Wendie plan till I get home.
Well, my mini-goal was to lose 5-10 pounds by the end of August, I have lost and kept of the 5 pounds, so I am proud of that. I don't think I'll be able to make it to a full 10 pounds loss, but I'm still striving to lose another 2 or 3 by the end of the month.
Tricia, I think you are like me and sometimes eat without really thinking about it. The ladies suggested that I really write everything down, to really assess what's going into my mouth and I think it will help. It's a hard habit to get into though. But lets face it, it's pretty much a numbers game, and I'm missing some information somewhere along the way or I would at least be losing a pound every other week or so. So it's time to figure it out. Maybe writing it down, doing the points with Weight watchers will help you too. I know it can be frustrating when you feel like you are working hard and not getting results. makes ya wanna eat chocolate, doesn't it? LOL
I totally agree with Cindi, on the weighing once a week thing. Daily numbers do affect me drastically and can sabotage a whole weeks worth of good eating. Another more accurate way is to average your weight. Weigh in daily for a week, then divide by seven days. There are some days where you are just weighing heavier for that day and it's not indicative of what you may have lost for the week, even if it's only a half a pound. I might try the averaging thing for a couple of weeks and see how I react to it. If I get too wrapped up in the daily number, I will go back to the once a week deal.
Oh, I will try and find the link for the Wendi plan and post it for ya all if you are curious.
The pet sitter never showed up last night, had to take a sick dog to the vet, but she will be here today. At least she sounds responsible, that's good news.
well, Hi to you all and I'll check back later.
-Di
Sorry, Cindi - missed your post somehow! I think maybe you're right about the scake. I am addicted to it. Maybe I'll put it in an inconvienient place except on WI days
Di - hey - 5 pounds is great - I think you'll definitely lose at least 3-4 more by the end of next month. And I know you'll do well while away.
Michelle- no flex points on Wendie but it's similar because you do have 1 super high point day
I think I'm going to try it for one week just to see if I like it or not. I'll probably return to normal WW after that Well, it's off to the cookout . . . hope there are some veggie burgers/dogs!
Cindi...I WANT A NUTTY BAR !!! OMG, you're an evil woman . Do you guys eat them in layers or all at once?? I'm a layer girl myself. It's been ages!! I think since work was done Dec 1. I can't buy the box or it'll be gone in no time flat.
Michelle, the boys were fine...til I read your post and then Will threw a heavy toy at Tony . They're always after the same ones. Arrrrgh.! I got in the pool today too. The water was mighty cold, but the outside temp was nice and warm. Plus I worked up a big smelly sweat cutting those bushes and cleaning up the mess
Leigh..the only bad thing about the Wendie plan is not being able to pick and choose what day you want to use your flex points. If you always use them on the same day then no problem..just fit that program to the appropriate day. Good luck to you! I wouldn't worry too much about your weightloss. You didn't have all that much to lose (yes, I know it is alot, but hopefully you know what I mean!) Anyway, the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off if you're staying OP that is .
Di...have a great time on your trip. When do you leave?
Jayme...I don't know how you can make any of that food low fat....so if you need any help eating it...I'll be right there . Good job on the exercising!
No plans for tomorrow yet. Supposed to be warm again so hopefully Will and I will get into the pool again. I may give my gf a call and see if she wants to go for another bike ride. If not, I may go myself and leave the boys with Dh. I always feel guilty when I do that, though I don't know why! I'm with them so much during the week.
Monday an Avon rep is coming over and I will decide if I want to sell it or not. I don't know if I would be sucessful or not at it. I'm not very pushy when it comes to sales...but Avon is so well known that you really don't have to push it too much. I'll probably just let my friends know and maybe put some brochures in the neighbor's mail boxes.
I hope everyone's having a great evening. We're just hanging out down here and will probably head upstairs to watch Barney, Jay Jay and Telletubbies. Woo hoo! I live one exciting life Have a great night everyone.
Good evening I did really well at the cookout. Turkey dog (no bun), 3 points worth of chips, and a small ice cream sandwhich.
Geri- yeah, I do realize the Wendie plan is less flexible. I'm going to give it a weeki and see which I prefer - I may very well switch back I think Crystal sells Avon too - I'm sure she can give you pointers. Glad you got pool time in - fun!
Michelle- hope Taylor gave you some rest Liam's never as excited to go to sleep as I am!
I told you all about my friends buying my glasses and contacts...well today, I went to the mailbox and got a letter. No return address...and inside was a money order to me and my dh...FROM JESUS! I have been so blessed by the people God has put into my life...you all included!!! One of DH's friends form work(who got him his new job) came and fixed our A/C tonight too! So, I am having a great weekend so far!!!
I didn't eat worth a flip today! After that big pep talk I gave you all, I blew it
But we got dinner for our friends for coming and working on the a/c, since it was too hot to cook, we had fish from LJS! I have lots of work to do to get the grease off my hips this week. I have been chugging the water, let me tell you!
I do need to go and get some rest before church! I will chat with you all tomorrow!
