I'm off to take up some pants. It's always terrifying to cut away fabric knowing I can't add any more to it.

He runs away to work conference next week so we have just the girls and I at home for the week and loads of things to do with not much time to enjoy it

Sctosgirl: wow you are brave! signing up for that I would not have the bravado to do it... Dance for other people sure warrior course not me...

Lostbutstiltrying: better late then never here is to changing and helping the family change

Rubyleprechaun: walking one end of the house to the other will get easier and next thing you know you will be walking there and back with ease!

Default Trying to get back on track!

Hey everyone! I am new here. My starting weight was 347. My current weight is 342. I am having a hard time getting on track. I have the habit of when I am driving to work, 45min to an hour drive, I like to have something to snack on. I never know a good choice so I end up with chips or popcorn. I have trouble with the willpower to not stop and buy something as well. Any helpful suggestions?

Thank you lostbutstilltrying and karencat for the support. I really am trying this time. I felt so guilty about skipping my morning walk that I took an afternoon one at a longer track. Then I lost my daughter's shoe and had to walk another half of it! Karma

Ladypocketz: I know its probably boring but I've been buying fruits and veggies and bagging them up. That way on my way to work I can just grab them and go. Tonight I had cucumber slices, red pepper slices and green grapes. I'm always running late so it's just easier for me to set them up before hand.

@CatherineM, I misread what you said at first and I thought you wrote that you were "off to take off your pants" XD

@Karencat - whatever will you do kicking it around the house solo for a week? have a fun time!

@LadyPocketz welcome! Ruby has the right way of it, veg and fruit are a good snack. I like to focus on what I can put in rather than what I can't have and I challenge myself to eat at least 5 servings a day and one of each color (red/orange, yellow/white, green, blue/purple) to get lots of vitamins. Good luck!

@RubyLeprechaun good job on your walk (and extra)

So the celery worked ok. I kind of got sick of the flavor so I will have to try something that I like the flavor of better. I think I might try grapes and cucumbers. I really like grape tomatoes so maybe I will try some of then too. I have done really good with my water today. I am at 9 cups of water! Thank you ladies for the suggestions. Now if I can get myself to actually prepare stuff for myself I will be set.

Week one and I lost 3 pounds! It's nice to have actual confirmation that I'm doing the right thing. Now to work on my water consumption. Does Mio type things have calories? I tried lemon water and I don't like the taste.

@Ruby congrats on your loss! I would say check out the aisle in the store the next time you're there - look at mio or some of the other ones, I don't really know about calories for those. You could also try spa waters - slicing up various fruits, herbs and veggies (not lemon if you don't like that) and putting them in your water container, I like those as well, especially ones with cucumber plus the have some vitamins.

Hubby was at a meeting this weekend. I always get caught up on my housework. He's only called me twice to remind me that I have a writing deadline.

I totally messed up last night. I really wanted something sweet to have as a dessert, and I was wandering around the store thinking what to have. Next minute I know, I am eating something a bit like a cake at 600+ calories very angry at myself. Not sure if this mad craving came after doing an awkward workout yesterday, has left me aching all day today.

Today I have been really good hoping to fix my calorie damage from yesterday.

Would love to see 290 or below by Wednesday at weigh inn, (Currently 292.3)

I am in a surly mood today - one of those days where you just want to pick a fight with everybody.

Arrrgh, this stupid weight loss is taking forever and I don't have any of my comfort foods to help me when I feel shitty. I read somewhere that most people give up and quit around week 6, well, that would be about now. I don't plan on quitting - I am just feeling so fed up with all the things I have to give up, I am not feeling positive at all.

New here. Well, I posted once last month and there was a lull in the conversation, but it seems to be getting more active again. I re-started my journey 33 days ago. I've had a lot of stress in my life over the last 6-9 months; a son fighting cancer and a daughter suffering from a rare childhood form of autoimmune vasculitis. With everything that is going on with them, I forgot that I should be taking care of myself, too. Now I've re-committed and I'm hoping that you guys can help me stay on track.

RubyLeprechaun - experiment with water flavour not all lemon is made equal - we are lucky we have sweet lemons - almost like oranges (helps that our lemon tree is growing near a mandarin tree) - some people like to add mint to the lemon water as well ... or just have mint.. strawberries is another good one - a low cal option of natural flavour we are lucky to have is that we have Barkers syrup - comes in passionflower and barley and only a little is needed to flavour the water

Ladypocketz - apple slices, grapes, carrot sticks - I despise celery with a passion cant stand the stuff.. oh stawberries maybe make a snack pot of fresh food to nibble on whilst you travel that way you get your vitamins and minerals from your diet you need and are helping to boost your metabolism while changing to a healthier habit

Hubby is away this week left tonight - back on Friday night / Saturday so its kind of quiet still have two girls to keep me busy
my 2 little demons *cough* angels cleaned there rooms today - pretty good effort too considering they are nearly 10 and soon to be 12

as for me upped water intake a little more had a few to many mocha lattes (chocolate flavoured latte) to drink this week food has not been too bad
maybe a little to many sweets this weekend but overall going well - chocolate brownies are dangerous

husband and youngest girl went shopping bought home jelly tip chocolate - its a dangerous creation - however the girls thankfully ate all but four squares which I had kept accounted for and made sure they were in my points on my WW program
now ww growl moment here - they have done away with the blogs in NZ and Aussie and the community section / forums and challenges on there web site and then they have put up the fees by 28c per week going on about how much better the e tools are - sorry WW but to me I see there are less e tools and another silly graph has appeared in the app ... not better in-fact I think its gotten worse - i post in connect on the app and dont even get spaces I put into my posts

positive notes - my 2 month old jeans are now getting to big and starting to slide down ... oh no might have to get another pair... have been loving having jeans I like wearing again!

Karencat: mmm I adore mocha anything. I'm going to have to find a way to work one in every now and then

I had my husband measure my waist, hips, and thighs this morning. I wanted to have a starting measurement to compare to later...BUT..I should not have looked at the actual numbers. It was hard enough seeing how long the ribbon was but to see the facts written down was really hard for me. On a positive note following the calories is easier than I thought it would be. Just have to think about the positive.
