14 miles today and every single mile SUCKED! Not sure why - pace was extremely slow, too. Must be the 1/2 mary last week burned me out more then I thought!

You'll get there! I CLEARLY remember the first time I ran a mile straight outside - it was May, 2011 and it took 16 minutes!

Congrats on your progress so far!! 20 minutes is a hard leap!!!

Way to go Snoofie!!! That's awesome, every time I hit a running milestone I want to cry b/c if you don't run, you just don't get how freaking hard/satisfying it is I feel...not to knock other forms of exercise but running is just as much mental as it is physical...

Nikel -I know how you feel, I am in the process of scheduling something called a radio frequency procedure for my neuroma - even though it's really fast procedure, it'll take about a week due to swelling...so it's a forced break of sorts. I hope the time off helps.

6 mile run with my hubby on Saturday while we were visiting his family in Syracuse, NY. Normally I hate to run with him b/c I feel like I'll hold him back or he'll take me out of my "comfort" zone but we actually had a really good time together! I might have to try that again.

Well today was my day for a 1/2 marathon . My 61 birthday is Wed. and I am going to be too busy on that day.Soooo my I T band was a little sucky the last 4 miles, just kept stretching it. I took 11 min off what I ran it in back in Oct. still not fast but it was great!
Cherry you amaze me!
Im3898 and Nikel..seems like forced rest is all we are capable of!
Snoofie we all were there,I remember when I did 10 min on the elliptical!
There is nothing as satisfying to me for exercise as running.

Lm - I live 60 minutes north of Syracuse! There is an awesome running trail near there!

That's such a small world Cherry!! My hubby is from Syracuse and we went to college in Geneva, NY - that's where we met lol.

Five HOT MUGGY miles last night - ugh, it was so gross out - extremely humid. I caught a breeze the last two miles but it was not a fun one.

Deva - you're still keeping up with those half marys huh??? Wow. HAPPY BIRTHDAY & you're amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing.

Just did a 90 min weight workout on my birthday, had a busy day as I thought brunch with friends and an afternoon hike and BBQ picnic planned by hubby and puppy. Really a great day.
He also bought me a running hydration pack an UltraAspire ( for women's body)
He researched it through running world ( so cute) to find the one he would think would be best. Also got my cell hooked up so he can look up where I am. I have a SPOT but it is heavy and something else to carry, turn on and and off ect.He say this has better maps. And as you know I run very rural and see NO one so if I fall if if I have A problem he needs to be able to find me.( it a myriad of dirt roads through fields and mts)
On the day I ran my 1/2 I did not even see a cow ,a car,or a person just birds.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAYLE! Sounds like a wonderful and peaceful day!

Just ran 7 miles in the pouring rain - weather.com had said sunny and 10% chance of rain. I get mostly dried off, get my work clothes back on and head to my office. I sit down and see the sun come out :P

Where is everyone?

Was SO not in the mood to do my long run today. Temps in the low 50's - way too cold for me. So I headed out and promised myself I would only "have to" run 10. Ended up taking a different route and was shock when I got 3 miles from home and was at 11.75 miles.

Finished up a cool 15.05 miles in 2:00:35.

Hello from the Florida keys! Ran four of the hottest, most humid miles of my life this morning. Cherry- you would have been in heaven lol. That cancels out about two of the twenty frozen margaritas I've drank since Saturday but I'm on vacation... Now back to th beach - happy Memorial Day all!!

I ran the 10K this weekend, even though technically it was against my Dr's advice. My ankle only got a little sore at the very end, and it felt fine after. I knew I was missing running, but OMG, I didn't even realize how much. I mentally felt sooo much better after the race. I also got a PR, which is always nice.

I'm still going to take it easy this week, maybe get 2-3 MAX runs in and hit the pool more to balance it out. I've got a race coming up June 8. It's just a 5k, so I could walk it if I need to. I'm traveling to do it with friends though, so I want to feel good for it. Plus marathon training is rapidly approaching, and I don't want to risk further injury.

20 days till my first 5K race. Super windy outside today, so I dreaded going out, but I went anyway. I find myself, since I started running outside, not even bothering with my C25K podcast anymore...I just run until I get tired.

Today's result: 4.61 miles in 17:56. Average pace: 3:53 per mile.

o_O

.....Maybe I should have signed up for the 10K instead of the 5K....
