IM3898 The hydration pack do you get bounce with it? It looks very similar to a hiking water pack I have holds more water but is also a vest may try it on my next run just to see maybe save some money...otherwise my birthday is this month!!!! IT IS VERY HOT here in the summer and I am already drinking everything on my belt in a 6 mile run,and I am having to moniter it on a 12 miler and its not even hot yet! And its all desert and NO WHERE to stop for water ,I was thinking of doing caches for my next 12 or 1/2 I do.

Deva - that's the best part - NO bounce or at least I certainly don't feel it...so great & light weight. I love it.

Used again last night for smooth 5.5 mile run around 9 p.m. - it was nice & cool out which was great!

Thank you TRIP! I'm so excited but obviously nervous - I've run a bunch of half marathon's but no fulls! I would be petrified w/ that much responsibility haha - you always hear comments after a race about the water stations!! It may be cute but I HATE when they have little kids helping out at them b/c they have no idea what they are doing and it's like hi- I'm kind of in the middle of a race here! Yes...I'm that grinch lol.

I have to have minor surgery in June for a painful neuroma so I'm hoping that by removing that, I'll be in better running condition!

Mother's Day Five Mile Race yesterday - I finished 51/275 with 40:50!! I beat last years time by 4 min, 25 seconds!!! SOooooooooooooooo happy with that. It was a bit sunny/hot for part of the run but last year I had just stared running about a month prior and started too fast - this year I was more prepared.

Deva - you put me to shame...I got lazy last night and finished my book/ate mac & cheese instead of my planned 4 miler...oh well today is another day...

Wish me luck all - getting an MRI WITH CONTRAST tonight [totally freaked out about the contrast injection...] on my right foot to confirm it is in fact a neuroma causing allllllllll this foot pain for the last year. If it is, I'm cutting that s8cker out...I can't deal w/ the constant foot pain when running anymore - I've tried cortison shots, alcohol shots, custom orthodics & different sneakers...it ends today!!!

lm - I am a total BABY when it comes to needles and I had a contrast MRI for a mass in my brain in 2010 and it was no biggie at all.

I really hope you get an ANSWER and a SOLUTION!!!! Sending major good vibes to you!

I ran 7 yesterday, got back to work and thought - hmmm... that seemed short... I never in 1 million years thought I would think of 7 as a shortish run!! Also, no residual soreness from my 1/2 mary - thought there might be. Time was a little slow but not too bad....

No running for me right now. My ankle is sort of locked, so I have a limited range of motion. I'm allowed to swim and do yoga and have PT exercises to do. I can run again in 2-3 weeks if it's getting better.

Sorry Nikel - it s8cks to be limited - I totally understand that feeling. How long do you have PT for?

It's 83 in NY today but I am DEFINITELY running tonight - it's times like today that I regret doing nothing on Tues when I should have ran b/c tonight I could have enjoyed a frozen cocktail oh well - gotta do it - summer is wayyyyyy too close for comfort. Got the MRI last night and I was a baby for nothing - barely felt the injection!

Can you do water "running"? One time I got injured while training for the NYC marathon and my coach threw me in the pool with an "aqua jogger" belt and I did a lot my training there... I didn't really "like" it very much... but it was nice to still be able to sort of have the feeling of "running"...

I still use an aqua jogger belt and do some "runs" in pool in the summer just for a change of pace and when I start to get a little bit "tweaked" from the pounding of running on the roads...

I could probably do water running. I've been swimming as cross training though, so I feel like I'm getting enough of a workout. I make sure and do some laps with the kickboard and some with the flippers, to make sure my legs get a little extra work.

She told me to take at least 2 weeks off. I've got a 10k right at the 2 week point, so I'll probably do it, just at an easier pace. If it still hurts then (it doesn't hurt anymore, but I obvs haven't tried running again) I'll have to go back and get it taped.

Nickel: good for you cross training with the swimining read where you want to do a tri,YOU GO GIRL!
Im3898 hope you get your test results soon and all is good, once when I got the contrast thing the guy hit the wrong spot and my arm hurt like **** and it was icy cold AND then I had to lay still! ( I have to get one every year for my acoustic neuroma)(balance nerves)

As for me today ran 9 with a head wind on the way home that made me go so slow felt like I was walking on a treadmill.

I was going to post this in the C25K thread, but it's enough of a milestone for me to feel like it belongs here.

I ran 20 minutes straight today!!! Something that, honestly, I *never* thought I would be able to do....especially jumping from just eight minutes, I could not believe it when my C25K "coach", Coach Block, bellowed, "Halfway there!!" I almost thought my iPod was broken. *L*

I've signed up for my first 5K on Father's Day. I'm hoping to be able to run the entire thing, but I'd be satisfied just to finish it.
