My first day was...okay. I did my yoga workout, was good on food...up til I went out for dinner. It was only about 30-40g carb, which put me at about 90 grams for the day, but I just checked the nutritrion info, and the sodium was off the charts. Lesson learned. If I go out again, will be chicken caesar salad for me, lol.

Tomorrow's a new day!

Hi devnet. I did low carb most of last year, sadly I was on high doses of steroids so didn't loose, however I only put on 7lbs so dread to think how my weight would have rocketed. However away from the point.....I found when eating out I could ask for the main I wanted I just asked for veg instead of carbs such as rice, potatoes etc. Once you do that once and realise that the staff don't mind it becomes very easy. Try not to limit yourself to salad you will get bored quickly and end up hating salad. Just watch sauces etc for hidden carbs.x

Thanks for the advice. I actually did do that, though - I had a Philly Burger from Applebees, which has a white cheese sauce and stir fried mushrooms, onions and red peppers. I got it without the bun, and had seasonal veggies on the side. I made a high estimate on the carbs because I didn't know how they made the cheese sauce, or how they stir fried the veggies. The carbs for a chicken caesar salad would have been about 25, but much lower in sodium (still not exactly healthy though, lol).

I haven't officially weighed in yet (Saturday) but I'm doing really well so far! I decided my plan needed a bit of a change and have been trying to eat low carb (not really low carb, but lower than I was eating before) and I can already notice a difference! I'm having less cravings and feeling less hungry.

Awesome, PinkLotus. That's one of the great things about high fat, low carb - not constantly craving terrible foods. Keep it up.

I saw 162 lbs yesterday, but I'm up to 162.5 lbs today. Not surprising at all given the fact that I sat in a 100+ degree office all day yesterday, couldn't ride my bike (yay 2 flats), and ended up eating dinner after 9 pm after spending an unfortunate amount of time replacing the back tire. I'm going to try to be super active this weekend...My official goal for my birthday next Saturday was 170, but I shot past that and am kinda sorta not-so-secretly hoping to see 160 now after how well this week went.

devnet: Great job!
Bellieup: You're off to a good start. Keep planning things to keep yourself busy and I'm sure that food will be the last thing on your mind

Okay, I weighed in today at 223
SW: 223
GW: 217
I'm hoping to lose 6lbs this month. I originally said 7, but given my track record for the past few months, I think 6 is a little more reasonable for me. My last weigh in will be the morning of September 1st.
