Fruits and vegetables are not free. They are 0 points for one serving but multiple servings eaten at the same time can have points. There is a difference between free and 0 point.

It's been a while since Weight Watchers has made a dramatic change. The points formula has been the same for some time now.

Guess it's time for a change.....

Every couple of years they tweak the program. Sometimes I think it is truly as they have learned through research as well as trial and error what works best. However, at other times, I think the changes and "new program" they advertise is a market tool.
They are a business like any other.
I will assess whatever this new program may be and I look forward to it. But, if I find it hard to follow, I can always stay with what I have now. The main difference for me is that I actually have to stick with it and live the program for it to work. This program we now have will work if I follow it.
So, as our holiday season approaches and more and more eating opportunities come my way, I have to find a way to live, eat, have good times but not over indulge - or when I do overindulge I need to make up for it.

This is the first major plan change since points came out 13 years ago. I heard the same remarks then about how much better the old program was and how many were not going to change. Nothing changes when it comes to human behavior.

I look forward to the new plan. I've been on every WW plan since the beginning and each one has worked better than the one before.

I seem to recall that "major change" thing being brought up a few years ago with the CORE plan, we shall all see soon.
I started WW in 1991 and have tried each plan since. I'm a lifetime member. One thing I have learned all these years since reaching goal for the first time is that no plan will make or break my success (though it can surely help) what truly makes me a success is ME and what effort I put into it. I'm here and I am motivated, so whatever the new program is will hopefully add to my accomplishments?

I am doing the WW on-line program and received an email that information will be on-line Dec. 6th. Very curious to see what it will look like.

I found a calculator for the new ProPoints in Europe. If the new US program is like this, it will definetly be a whole new deal.

Dang. If I am entering this in right, my High Fiber oatmeal just went from 3 points a packet (current plan) to 4.9 points a packet (judging by that calculator link). I didn't like the oatmeal anyway, haha, but it's an example:

Calories: 160
Fat: 2g
Total Carbohydrate: 34g
Dietary Fiber: 10g
Protein: 4g

But if 29 is the new lowest daily, I go back up from my current 27 points anyway.

Baked Chicken, no skin, 4oz:
Calories: 140
Fat: 3g
Total Carbohydrate: 0g
Dietary Fiber: 0g
Protein: 27g

Currently 3 points, propoints calculator 3.2 pts.

This will be... interesting

This was from the WW blog this morning:

Hoping this works. You need that http thing with the : and the two / before you put the rest in your browser.

There’s been so much buzz about the changes that are coming to Weight Watchers, that we thought we’d answer a few of the key questions. So, here’s what you’ve been asking us:

Why the change? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
While the current plan works and has worked for millons of Meetings members and Online subscribers it’s important to note that science is continually evolving, which means Weight Watchers needs to change too. We want to make sure our members and subscribers have the most up-to-date information they need to lose weight and keep it off. You will find that the new program changes will make following the Weight Watchers plan even more flexible.

Will those of us who subscribe to Weight Watchers Online get all the new info? Do we have to do anything?
When you log on to the site on November 29th, we will walk you through the new program, step by step. There will also be guides, videos, and games to help you have a successful transition to the new program.

Can I continue to use my iPhone app?
The iPhone app will be updated to support the new program. It should be available to download on November 29th. We will also have Blackberry, Android, and Windows Phone 7 calculator apps shortly after the new program launch.

Is fruit free on the new program?
Yes – you can eat all fruit until you are satisfied.

Is all fruit free? Even bananas??
Yes even bananas!!

Even… mangoes???
Yes even mangoes!!!

I'm excited about the changes. I've been doing WW for a couple of months now and I'm doing ok on it, but if its gonna be better and healtier, I'm all for it.

ACK! If that's the new formula...my current fat free ice cream/ frozen yogurt Edys Blend went from 1 pt per serving to 5.

Boooo...

It's not like I eat it a lot...but it was my "guilty pleasure"

I'll have to find a new one. I get what they're saying, and it makes sense. At least servings of fruit if it's true will be zero per serving.
