I am a Registered Sleep Technician. Work in sleep lab running and scoring tests to diagnose sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. I was a Chef for 10 years and got burned out so I went back to school.
I always joke that I only work in fields that related to my passions in life, food and sleep. I think I actually like to sleep a bit more than I like food, which is saying a lot given my stats! lol.

wow am i really the only person who absolutely hates their job? sad for me.

i work in a call center for a bank, in the collections department. i started off really loving it because i felt like i got to help people who needed help - since i wasn't working for a collection company it was more like i was a financial counselor. but when the economy took a dive- they definitely made us into collectors and now i really really hate it.
if there were any jobs to be had- i'd jump on them immediately.

I'm a barista at Starbucks and I love it. I have every intention and the ambition to move up the ladder and someday run my own store. I love the product and the tremendous customer service that is a requirement of my job.

Nope, I'm here.

I work for the [state] government as an analyst--basically determining eligibility for certain government programs. I started there because my dad works for the same agency and I wasn't having any other luck finding employment after graduating from college.

What I WANT to do is find a job that relates to my major--something in public relations or communication.

Don't feel bad. I don't like my job either. I am a Market Research Recruiter. I would love to own my own company someday! Maybe something to do with pets or if I ever get a handle on my weight I could own a company to help others with theirs.

I was working as a legal secretary in federal criminal defense law. I'm looking to find another position now, I'd like to stay in the same area, and build up the legal side of my experience and education. I've applied to DOJ legal assistant jobs, takes some time. I do like most aspects of it.

forensics sounds so interesting, so does virology. I have a background in biology. I worked in the publishing field for quite a while too. I guess you can say I'm one of those people who's had a hard time figuring out what she wanted to do when she grew up (!)

(I couldn't work in the coffee field, I'd drink up any profits!)

Don't worry... I too, hate my job. I'm a database administrator for a company that manufactures and services oil drilling tools (in the branch I'm in at least).

I always said I still didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up... suddenly I turned around and I was grown up. Carp. Now what do I do?

I work in the financial industry, writing procedures and training.

I like training adults; I hate the cut-throat nature of the business.

I'm a Mortgage Broker and I do love my job. I really like to help people, even now that we are facing a hard time I don't see myself doing anything else.

I work at a Children's Museum. My official title is Administrative Assistant, however everyone does a bit of everything, from events to grant writing to exhibit repair. I love it, but I always have a cold.

I'm a pharmacist/paramedic/researcher. And I'm all over the place.

I alternate a schedule between Mississippi and Alaska. I'll be in one for a couple of months and then back to the other for a few months.

When I'm in Alaska, I'm working short-term contracts for various places out in the bush: villages, oil company outposts, wherever. I do little things and early emergency things like stitches, splints, etc until med-evac helicopters get there. Or sometimes I just due normal pharmacist things.

When I'm in Mississippi, I work as a pediatric pharmacist and do some research. Currently, I'm doing two projects. One is looking at assent information for kids. To enroll kids in research, you have to have parents give "consent" but the child has to also agree giving their "assent". I'm looking at what kind of materials are appropriate to give to kids so they'll understand what's going on (like a picture book, etc). Another is looking at the use of herbals and kids with certain disease states. What parents give their kids, don't give their kids, and why.

I also pick up shifts at a local chain pharmacy from time to time for the cash. I do have time to sleep, I promise. ;>

But!

Hopefully I'll be fulltime in Alaska soon. My husband is in Mississippi and is working on a massive research project (he's a physicist) and the grant/project is until August 2011. We're waiting until he's done to move.

I swear, my life is not as exciting as it comes across. It is mostly boring and routine.
