I'm business technology writer in an IT consulting firm. The analysts & consultants may be brilliant on technology, but many of them are not very good writers, and some have significant ESL issues. I clean them up & make them sound professional.

Since I'm working with people all over the world, many of whom I'll never see, just exchange e-mails & IMs & talk on the phone with, my company does not much care where I work physically. So I get to work from home two days a week, sometimes more often, if the weather makes the commute intimidating. I really like this flexibility.

But because I'm working with people all over the world, they forget that I'm supposedly keeping the usual business hours on U.S. Eastern Standard Time, and they like to send me questions at 5 AM & well past 6 PM, and they're particularly fond of inundating me with work during lunchtime. It's a workaholic culture with everyone on a BlackBerry. They also work through the weekends & many holidays & their time off -- Sunday afternoons into evening are very popular -- and I always feel this subtle pressure to keep up.

I am the head software designer for a company that designs products for medical laboratories (for example, the software doctors use to order lab tests, and how they view results). I work from home for the company, which is based about 8 hours away from me, so that's a nice perk. I basically love every aspect of this job, from the technical to the solving design conundrums. I spend a lot of time meeting with our clients to determine what they want our software to do, then designing solutions that get them what they need and make our other customers happy as well. Managing people doing the same thing is a new challenge, but I'm loving it so far.

This is a fun thread! Very interesting!!

The bank and I own a childcare center and preschool. We have approx 69+ children a day with 20 staff members. I have been VERY VERY VERY fortunate to have found a Director to run the day to day operation! So now for the most part I stay at home and do the invoices, payroll, and those kind of things.

I also have another business called Luna Promotionals where I am a Distributor for promotional products. I have access to literally 100's of 1000's of products. Yesterday I received an order for pens from our local Funeral Home and then another order from another company for pens, pencils, magnets, paper bags, and bookmarks. They are getting ready for Kindergarten Round-up. It is a lot of fun and I learn new things all the time! So if an item can be printed on...I can do it! I wonder if I could ever do a 3FC discount thing?

I am a long term care aide/nurses aide and I love my job. I work in a nursing home, just as a casual, but I loooove it. Every day I go to work I get to interact with seniors. I am able to make someones last few days on the earth as comfortable as possible. Only negative about my job is that I get really attached to people and it's hard when they pass away.

I am a stay-at-home-mum, as of 5 years ago, and I LOVE it!! Before that I worked as an Assistant District Court Clerk in NC. Miss the excitement of it, at times, but am happy to be what I am doing, at the moment.

I'm slowly on my way out of my job, I gave my notice in July, but they haven't quite allowed me to leave just yet. Which I fine, as I enjoy my job, but I'm back in school full time and it's getting a bit hard to manage. I am a Corporate Trainer for an AV company. I travel all over Canada, meeting with clients and showing them how to use the equipment they purchased from us (SMART Boards, video conference, digital signage etc). I also write all the customized training manuals for each client as well.

It was a great job, but all the travel finally killed me. I was traveling 3 weeks a month, and was vary rarely in the same city two nights in a row. It was exhausting. So I've returned to school, to hopefully get my masters in either industrial/organizational psychology or industrial sociology. I want to continue training, but with a focus on leadership and team building.

I work from home as a freelance writer and Internet marketer among other small ventures. It's fun, I like it and my favorite part is working my own hours

My husband also works from home so it works out really well with the kids, etc.

I am a Registered Nurse and I work as a school nurse for an elementary school. I absolutely love it and think I have the best job in all of nursing!

I am also a huge nerd and love school, and I am applying for my Masters in Public Health. After that I will be going for a BSN to PhD program. I hope to teach Community Health and maybe pediatrics to nursing students one day.

I'm a writer and editor and have spent almost all of my adult life self-employed. I'm getting close to retirement age but chances are I'll keep writing until they have to pry the keyboard out of my cold, stiif hands! I've been so blessed to be able to make a living doing what I love.

I currently work for a veterinarian, and I do like my job.

My dream job would be a forensic pschycologist, (can't even spell it) or forensic scientist that figures out all the cool stuff from the bodies they bring you. A bit strange, I know, but I love that stuff.

Along with that I would love to be better at computer science and coding, and all that computer stuff. It would really help me out in my online business that I do on the side. I make a bit of spending money, but could do so much better with more skills!

And I'd also like to be a pet owner trainer! Not a dog trainer, but someone who would train people how to have a pet. I see to much of people who mean well, but don't know what to do.

My kids have their dream jobs, one is a state patrolman/swat sniper and the other teaches high school science, but his love is the coaching, high school football and basketball! They love their jobs!

I'm a director for a federal grant for a local university. We're developing distance education capacity - introducing technology, training faculty, enhancing student academic and support services, that sort of thing. My doctorate is in adult education and have a grad cert in Distance Education, so this is an ideal position for me.

I am so very impressed with everything everyone has achieved. So it turns out we are more than a bunch of pretty faces and cute tushies.
