Monet: Glad you are feeling better!

TW225: I love the idea of the LIFE journal, what a clever idea!

Maybee: Hi, I'm new also - everyone here seems so wonderful. I'll have to check out the Sugarbusters book (I have a feeling I am the only one who has not read it)

Yesterday was my kids first day back to school and I was a total slob all day. I sat around and watched Rugby all morning and then I tried to clean my filing cabinet in the afternoon (I seemed to have made a bigger mess than I cleaned up) I have to go back to work today so I can get back on track - I seem to do better with eating when I am not home near my fridge!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning all you busters of sugar! I am feeling much better this morning. I slept well, in spite of sleeping most of yesterday, and I just feel chipper!

MAYBEE: Glad you joined us! This is a great group...I have been on here for six years or more and find the folks on here just wonderful with encouragement and friendship. Jump right in! We do love new folks too! If you have questions, ask away! Our philosophy is the only dumb question is one that is not asked! There are tons of recipes on the Sugarbusters recipe forum, so check them out too. Tell us about yourself! I have three grown kids, and my daughter, son in law and their four month old son live with us. I try not to be obnoxious about how wonderful my grand son is! My son lives with us as well, but with his job he travels 100% of the time, so he is gone for 1-2 weeks at a time. It is a new job, so I am getting used to having him gone. He is a lot of fun when he is here, but I am happy that he has such a great job. (maybe cause he owes me so much $$!! haha!)

COLE: You really ought to read the book! It does help! But even if you NEVER read it, we will still love you! I snickered when I read about you cleaning the filing cabinet and making a bigger mess! I do that! I cleaned out my closet about six months ago, and was SO proud of how it looked, until I realized that my bed was piled sky high with all the stuff I took out. That night, to go to bed I had to move it all, so BACK into the closet it went and the closet barely looked any better! I really need to give my house an enema...and toss a bunch of stuff! A friend of mine tells me if I have not touched it in a year, to toss it out! She is right of course, but I get so sentimental! haha!

ROSALIE: I will let you know how it turns out! I need to go buy some rye flour. I got some sg rye at a mill up in North Georgia and made some awesome rye with my grandmother's recipe, but it uses bread flour...not ww...so I am keen to try yours.

BOB: When is the wedding again? I will try to get them done within the next few weeks. You want four orange, and four blue, correct? And footballs on the orange and basketballs on the blue. Correct me if I am wrong!

Ok, I am off to get into some mischief. I need to finish taking down the tinderbox, er I mean Christmas tree... and clean!

So, I'm not the only one!! My husband just shakes his head everytime I say I'm going to clean out something. It's good to know I'm not alone.

I reserved the Sugar Busters book from the library - So I'll be up to speed soon.

As a side note: I'm am going to Trader Joe's for the first time next Tuesday, I was hoping they have tons of sugar free products. Anyone recommend anything?

COLE: The moderator before me LOVED Trader Joes, and they just opened one about a mile from me. I went and looked stuff over, but did not find tons of stuff that was all that unusual. They had a good selection of whole grain breads, but I was disappointed that there were not more hard to find whole grain stuff. Maybe someone else will know...and I will be eagerly awaiting the info! I thought their coffee prices were good, and they did have some Cabot brand dairy stuff that is hard to find, but that was about it.

Good Morning! I'm hoping to do better today with my eating. I'm off to a doctor's appt then bring the dogs (new mother & pups) to the vet. Not too sure how that will work out as I do not have a kennel & have cloth seats in my car but we'll manage somehow. lol

Welcome to our NEWCOMERS! Hope to get to know you all & that you'll succeed in your efforts with SB !!

Momet, glad you're feeling better!

Good morning.

I slept in late this morning as I was not sleepy last night and was up between 3 and 4 messing around on the computer, emptying the dishwasher and reading until I felt sleepy. But I did get out to the mall again this morning and walked for about 40 minutes. Must try to get there earlier tomorrow when most of the walkers are there.

Monet -
The original recipe I used listed 3/4 cup ww flour and 1 3/4 cup bread flour but I substituted the sgww and cut the total amount down by 1/4 cup and it turned out o.k. Maybe your grandmothers recipe would work too if you substituted. Would you mind sharing your recipe with me? I would like to try it.

Have a good sugar busting day everyone.

Morning. Hey, BOB- I've been on the wagon since I woke up Monday, the 1st. No more excuses for not eating like I should be, holidays are over. Last night I made stir fry with deer meat and it was sooo good and I even skipped the rice. I used lower sodium soy sauce but I still woke up with puffy eyes. I hate retaining fluid so easily, not fair. SOLLY- what do u take for fluid? Well, this is my 3rd day back OP. I might weigh on Friday to see where I'm at. I tried last week with exercising AFTER work, but I'm just too tired and fatigued. I do better to do it in the morning and get it over with. Unfortunately, that means I have to wake up at 4:30 am so that I get started by 5 because I have to leave the house by 7:30. These early mornings suck but I'm not giving up my workouts. Alright, customers keep coming, I've been trying to type this for more than an hour....

Default Howdy

I totally lost my mind yesterday but I am back on track today. Breakfast-Lunch was a pimento cheese sandwich on wheat bread. I am faithfully journaling at fitday. Exercise is still on the need to improve list. I'm trying to call out Stormy's spelling words so I need to get but I wanted to pop in before things got too busy around here.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Happy Wednesday Ladies

Well we got to the gym last night finally. I was surprised that I actually lasted 20 minutes on the EFX machine. I'm not really sore today, probably tomorrow it will hit. We should go tonight. Usually we skip Wed. but we eed to go. I am really tired today. We stayed up late watching the Orange Bowl Game.

MayBee, Welcome to our group. This is a great group of gals and you will get lots of support. SB is definately doable. Good luck. Let us know some more about you.

Melf, I hate being cold too. SundayI never could get warm, so I finally went out and got int he hot tub. That helped. I hate cold feet and I have neuropathies so they can be cold when it 90 outside. Good job getting your walk in.

Rosalie, that bread sounds delish. I would have trouble staying away from it too.

Thin, I love your "LIFE" plan. IT sounds neat. Good luck. I find writing down what I eat really helps.

Toni, glad you got a good report at the doc. We will worry with you when the time comes.

Bob, I didn't get to see any of your game, just the score when it was tied at 10. Sorry about that. I was hoping the SEC would have lots of wins. I sure hope the Gators pull one off. That will be one tough game. I was proud of the Cats, but was waiting for them to mess up at the end and blow it. A nice surprise.

Monet, glad you are feeling better. Take it slow and easy.

Cole, get 100% whole wheat breads. Now there are tons of them to pick from. I like the ones that are only 45 calories a slice. That way you get 2 pieces for 1. I'm not much of a bread eater unless it's hot at a restaurant. Read the book and we can help with any questions.

Heart, I take one Lasix in the morning and a Dyaside (sp) in the afternoon. This one is supposed to be potasium sparing. After not taking them like I should I double up in the morning. I think it is strange that if I only take 1 a day I start retaining so much fluid. Then with 3, I can drop it in 2-3 days. I have had my heart tested to see if it was not pumping right, but it was ok. Good job on making it a good 3 days. Keep up the work.

County, glad you found your mind, haha. Hang in there, remember, we are going to do this.

Need to get back to work. Have a great evening.

Hey everyone! I just got in from running some errands. I went by the church office, then to the ceramic supply place, then to the grocery store. The ceramic supply place did not have the thing I wanted, and I was bummed. I am going to have to order it online. I really wanted it NOW. Patience! Patience!

I feel very drained, so I think I need to go rest before I gear up to make dinner. I did get the tree all undecorated, so Tom can take it out tonight. Yay! This was a weird Christmas...I was just not much in the mood, and I feel badly about that. Usually, I LOVE Christmas. Oh well. I will figure it out later.

Love to you all!

Well another crazy day. Tomorrow I go to see my primary doctor. Gosh I'm being doctored allot this week. Eating was okay today not as good as I want though. I did get some grapes and apples today. So now I've got lots of fruit. Rosalies rye bread sounds so good. I love a good rye bread. I may have to get some rye flour and make some.

Welcome Maybee!!!!

Not much going on here to write about. I'm so boring lately. Maybe I'll be better tomorrow. LOL....

EVERY BUDDY!!

Glad to see so many people on the board!! We were getting kinda "thin" there for a while!

Like most of you I'm glued to the TV...this is the 6th President in my lifetime to watch be buried. Not that I'm proud, but I feel drawn. I do feel for the family being thrust into this such a private moment for all the world to see their grief.

MELF...Sorry, I was thinking of KRIS when I asked about RUBY and just happened to be in my post to you!

MONET...Yes, that's correct...
4 ORANGE with FOOTBALLS 4 BLUE with BASKETBALLS I don't think you said, did James make it home by Christmas Eve?

JACKIE...You sound like me...I kept waiting on them to mess up too, but thankfully, they (THE CATS) didn't...

LAURIE...I take diazide for fluid as well, but I only take mine once a day. I prefer lasix, but it really drains my potassium...CONGRATS TO YOU for staying in that wagon...

CRYSTLE...do you make your own Pimento cheese? I love it but have to watch when I make it or I'll eat it all by myself!!!

ROSALIE...I don't have any contact with Debbie at all. She has simply removed herself completely from all of us. Speaking of bread, do you remember that wonderful bread that VESNA brought over to Sonya's when you were visiting Orlando? I know that was a long time ago, but I've never forgotten it and check in every bakery I go in. I have never been able to find it since. I blame you for getting me hooked on "high percentage chocolate" !! You brought me some 80% from Canada, but I've never been able to find it again. The highest I can find is 72% and made by VALOR...I love it though and it really helps my sweet tooth when it hits!

MAYBEE....{{{{{{{WELCOME}}}}}}} to our little family of losers! Jump right in and join the gang. I see you're from Memphis...may I assume you're also a college football fan? We have a strong hold on the SEC here, but all of our teams have played in the LIBERTY BOWL....Glad you're here!!

COLE...How was your New Year holiday? I'll also join in the ranks of not cleaning things out! So you and MONET are not alone on that one!

THIN...So, how did the "outing" for the glasses go?

TONI...What''s up girlfriend?

I'm off to recline...Hope everyone has a GREAT EVENING!!!

TONIGHT IS MISSY'S GAME....GEAUX TIGERS!!!

BOB

I just finished dinner. I made enchiladas, had cheese dip, refried beans and guacamole salad. I only had one and a half of the enchiladas...everyone else had three. I still ate too much! Boy, am I stuffed! I did have some corn, but I was pleased that I avoided wheat entirely today. I really need to give up wheat...

I am dragging. I still need to clean up the kitchen, but am waiting on Laura to empty the dishwasher. I am afraid I will be waiting a while...she is playing World of Warcraft...fondly called World of Warcrack here...

I just finished eating dinner about 20 minutes ago. I know I shouldn't be eating this late but that is the kind of day it has been. Up late this morning so breakfast was late. I purposely had lunch late as I knew I would be out this evening. I go to play badminton at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday and it's a bit too early to eat before I go. My menu for to-day has been: B - brown rice pudding which I put in the crockpot at 3.30 a.m. this morning when I was up pottering around. For lunch I had home made falafels with a caesar salad and one slice of rye bread with fruit spread. Dinner was left over chicken and sausage cooked in barbecue sauce with green beans and basmati rice. I am now feeling very stuffed and I am hoping to go to bed on time to-nite as I would like to get up early tomorrow to go for my mall walk before going bowling.

BOB -
I'm surprised you can't find the 80%+ chocolate. I've seen it in quite a few stores here including Sears. The brand I usually buy is Lindt. If you can't find any I would be quite happy to send you some if you would pm me your address. I don't like to see that sweet tooth suffering. . I usually stick to the 70-72%, anything stronger I find too strong. I don't remember the bread that Vesna brought. That was a long time ago. Can you believe it will be 6 years in March. I often wonder how Sonya is doing. That was a really great get-together that we had.

I did well yesterday, I worked all day and evening so I did not have time to be bad!! Today will be a little less busy, I work this morning and I get to grocery shop in the afternoon, I like grocery shopping, especially when I can take my time. I'll pick up my SBusters book today at the Library so I'll have some reading to do this weekend.

I hope everyone has an awesome day!!

Bob: My NY's was quite, we traditionally stay home and have a nice dinner (there are two days we completely avoid going out NYEve and St Pats Day). My son wanted to stay awake he's 7 and he made it , my daughter who is 6 mad it til 11:45. NY Day is usually spent over my mommy's. Thanks for asking.

Monet: I am going to Trader Joes with a lady who is in the same boat as me so we can concentrate on finding sugar free items.

Solly: I have been eating "Eziekiel" bread as per doc's recommendation. It has sprouted wheat, whole grains and low yeast - believe it or not it is pretty tasty.
