I don't like the chili lime soy puffs much either. But they are not a resticted so I will finish the box I have. I'm just thinking they may add crunch to my salad.

Oh, and I use vitamins and other supplements that I buy at the grocery store. Just compare what you are actually getting in millegrams.
OMG - I miss having pizza. I am ordering today!

Hi,
I have been researching fro alternative products. I am currently doing phase 1 using alternartives (including supplements). What's the maximum carb and sugar I can have using alternative products in Phase1? I saw somewhere in this forum a spreadsheet comparing IP products to alternatives, which was very helpful for me. I just dont know how much carb I can have a day? Oh and also, how much protein I should be having daily? I want to make sure that I am getting enough protein. Thanks!

Anyway, long story short I male pancakes with the whey sensation brand I bought from Popeye and every time they come out great. So I guess it should also work with the Nashua pudding.
Could you please share with me how you make your pancake?

If you really want to do IP you can Google IP to GO. That's run through the main offices in Canada and the US and you can easily do the program that way. It would also solve the problem of getting the supplements. There is NO OTC replacement for the K/Cal. You can mix and match for the others but do it with a really reputable, knowledgeable person at a high-grade health and nutrition store. I'm not referring to the chains or big box stores. And I'm not being snobbish. I truly think this is important.

About pickles. Think of them as little green sodium machines -- unless you can find really low sodium pickles. One regular sized dill pickle = 1181 mg of sodium. Ideally you should stay around 1200 mg of sodium per day.

Until you get down another 50 or so pounds you could consider using another packet. As to bars, some people cut them into little pieces, freeze them, and have half for one snack, half for the other.

There are good reasons for splitting your meat/fish, like you can't gag it down all at once. But there's also a very good reason for having it all at night. It takes a lot longer to digest real food than the packets, especially those made with soy. So if you eat all your meat at night, plus the evening shake or whatever you have, your body won't go without sustainable protein for as long as it would if you only had protein isolate at night. This is important.

Here's what I'd aim for: 1200 mg of calcium and sodium a day; 4700 mg potassium; and 400 mg magnesium. Here's where having a knowledgeable doctor or coach would be absolutely invaluable -- to adjust the amounts and ratios to you, individually. Then there are the esssential amino acids which you should be getting in your packets plus some red meat. Plus 2 t long or medium chain fatty acids and LOTS of water. About 1/2 ounce of water for every pound of body weight up to 240 pounds. Enough water is crucial; too much flushes out all the good vitamins and minerals. Balance is key. I do hope you're working with a health provider? And if you have hypothyroidism, there are a whole set of other considerations.

So, WELCOME, keep on planning and questioning, and the very best of successes to you. (And please remember, what I've written are general guidelines. I am NOT a medical professional.)
It is interesting what you are saying about pickles because while I was doing the diet with a coach I asked about pickles and she said as long as they are dill and not sweet that we can use them as all 4 cups of our veggies. While I do not eat that many I eat at least 2 pickles as a snack per day and have lost just fine.

I ordered some caramel nut bars from Lindora, and the box arrived today. I'm really looking forward to trying one for my evening snack--and hoping for the best. I will continue to buy IP products from my clinic, but I'm hoping to supplement with a few lower priced products from time to time.

I like pickles so ran to the fridge and checked my Vlasic Kosher Dill spears. 1 pickle has 210 mg sodium, about 9% of RDA. I'm sure others are up around 1100-1200 mg but wanted to let folks know there are some options out there.

I have a Proti-Diet pancake with Walden Farms pancake syrup every morning. Very filling. They have a blueberry pancake also. I add a tsp of vanilla extract to the batter, tasty, satisfying. 100 calories, 7 carbs or less - so unrestricted in the IP world.

Lunch is Proti-Thin Cream of Vegetable soup or Proti-Diet Pea soup to which I add 1 cup of chopped steamed zucchini and a bag of miracle noodles in fettucine style. This is similar to a fettucine alfredo every day. Add green salad with cucumber and celery and WF dressing. Sometimes I add 2 oz of protein to the lunch and subtract from that from dinner portion.

Snack is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% whey portein powder in Double Rich Chocolate flavor. I buy it at GNC,, often on sale, cost is $.75/serving. I add a c of fresh spinach and ice cubes, vanilla extract or vanilla or chocolate flavored stevia and whirl in the ninja chopper. I drink some of it and split the remainder between 2 sm pyrex cups and put them in the freezer. I have one of these mid afternoon, one at bedtime.

Dinner is protein, unrestricted veggies, always a salad with WF dressing.

Cost per week is around $35. I use www.nashuanutrition.com. There are others. I have to buy some of the walden farms products over the internet so for that I use www.netrition.com. For flavored liquid stevias and Miracle Noodles, I use www.iherb.com.

Hope that helps. It's not hard to do this diet inexpensively and still get great results.

I did IP using only IP products in 2010. Now back to IP and using 80% alternatives, 20% IP and my weight loss is identical.
