Airportchick- Hope you got to refresh after your challenging day. I love that the boys were figuring it out. I also love Big Mac in a bowl. Today. I had a chicken burger. I cut it in half and made two: added two slices of my homegrown yellow tomatoes, pickle, WF Thousand Island, a bit of mustard and wrapped it up in boston lettuce. Yum.

Discouraging weigh in today...only 2 lbs lost for the week, but 15 total for my first month. I'm pretty happy with the monthly total (even though 20 for the moth would have been better). I weighed in a day sooner than normal and I skipped some meals last week due to lack of hunger, busyness, being too tired to cook. Boo...I was hoping for another week of losing 4 or 5 lbs. I guess I learned my lesson about eating all of the meat/poultry etc. that was the area where I slacked. No cheats at all.

I've definitely proved that my losses are not as great when I skip things. Even though we don't cheat, it's almost as detrimental when we don't eat enough. Our body needs it's fuel and I do believe this program works...if it's done as layer out. Here's to a successful week of making the best attempts to getting everything in, supplements and all!

15 pounds in a month is great!! keep it up! i find that skipping my food sets me back. sometimes i lose more the day i've had an extra packet. if you're finding it hard to eat 8 ounces of meat in one sitting you can always divide it between lunch and dinner. sometimes i just have 4 or 5 ounces with dinner and have an extra packet. i don't know if that's 100% op though so please dont quote me on it

I just tried my vanilla drink in a new way and I had to share! It was delicious!

Brew a cup coffee and chill. Blend with a vanilla drink, a few dashes of cinnamon and a few dashes of pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!

Thanks airportchick and wantanewme. It's surprising that you don't lose as much on this diet if you fall below the recommended amount of food for the day, but lesson learned! I think I am going to start splitting some of the meat between lunch and dinner because I usually don't feel like eating that much when I get home from work. Here's to all of us having a good week! Cheers-ing with my morning coffee with my measured out skim milk.

Cheers!
I think it's because we are already eating so few calories. Cutting them any more sends us into starvation mode and slows down the metabolism.

Default Flattened emotionally.. can't let this get me down

So, even though I stuck to plan, religiously even, I had a .4lb GAIN this week. I didn't do anything different at all, but it is that TOM.. first TOM was the week after I started, and my body was still getting used to the diet. I lost 7lbs that week.. I wasn't expecting this, and even though my coach showed me the numbers, (I'm retaining 4.9lbs of water), I'm feeling like a failure. It's as if there's a giant sign hanging over my head pointing down saying "FATTIE, you gained.." I know that I'm being super hard on myself, but I don't really have the money to have a gain week.. at $90+ a week, and the fact that I've got so much weight to lose, I'm gonna be on this program for over a year and a half.. add that up.. yeah... don't have time for this.. My coach did say that this is why women usually have less weight loss than men. Once a month they retain fluid and that lowers their averages (why men lose an avg of 5-7lbs a month and women are only 3-4lbs a month).. darn mother nature!

Just ranting.. sorry I'm really feeling discouraged. I'm glad everyone else is having decent WI's though!

Aghhh, Kawaii, that really stinks! I can only imagine how you feel. Just know that you are doing the right thing and it will most likely show up next week! I know it's easier said than done as it seems most of us take out the bloody club and beat ourselves with it.
I know what you mean about the cost. I asked my coach a couple weeks ago about substituting for less expensive supplements. She ok'd me on that. But when I asked to sub the restrictive bars for the Quest bars, she said no go. She said when I get to maintenance it would be ok. I knew the cost when I signed up, I made the commitment and I don't want to quit but it is quite costly. I don't want to quit before I phase off because I know from reading that if I don't learn what my body can take, I will re-gain it back. I want to learn what my body can handle and the only way is to see it through to the end. I have to accept that this is what it costs for ME at this moment. It sucks, but I want it so I'll do it. *waving the white flag*

Hello All,
I have to do a stealth post because I'm at work (taking a small break). I just wanted to share an NSV. I was circling my mind about my pounds lost (I'm having good progress, but of course more is better. Altogether I'm down ~ 7.5 pounds in three weeks. I filled out the 20 by Christmas spreadsheet for the week and found motivation to stay on track by reading through everyone progress. I can do this. Those two pounds a week add up! I might be shy a couple of pounds, but it will be near 20 by Christmas.

Hello all! First weekly weigh on this board even thou I have been on plan since Oct 16/13. I am down 3.4lbs this week. This is my third week in a row with the exact same loss, seems weird to me but I am going with it!!! Hope everyone has a great day!

kawii1002, in my experience with weight loss TOM sucks! But if you keep with the plan you will see reults next week, and overall you will have a loss for the month and that is what is important. Keep going, you can do this...one meal, one day, one pound at a time.

Haha..I love that you called it a 'stealth post'! You are doing fantastic!! I think the big lesson all of us need to remember includes the word "Enough". Whether it's I've eaten enough....I have done enough...That loss is enough.. I AM ENOUGH.

No I don't drink any coffee. We have a genetic "thing" for lack of a better term that is passed down through the men in our family called Essential Tremors. It basically means that our brains fire off signals to our muscles constantly that cause constant shaking. Coffee only makes that worse, even decaf, which is weird.

Kawaii-Keep your head up, you've done awesome so far! I know the diet is expensive but keep this in mind. Think of the money we will spend on medical and hospital bills, and prescriptions later in life from a continuing life of obesity. Consider the money for your IP food as a down payment on a fuller life!

Hey Jig, I have an essential tremor too. Coffee does not bother mine that much, but low blood sugar does.

Kawaii, that bit and more will be gone next week. You are worth every cent.

Congrats Want2beskinnyagain! Great WI!

Tingstar, great positive attitude
