Hey, girls, I'm still here, sorry I've been MIA. First weigh in, not good, I'm at 152, up a pound from last week. I think my Christmas goal was very optemistic, I'm changing it to 150, if I lose more great, but that sounds doable. Depression has really been gripping me this week. All I want to do is sleep, cry off and on, and eat junk. I take many suplements for it, but, it is very dark here and cold, so, I need to start sitting under the light box again. I just got Dr. Fuhrman's DHA omega 3 so I will start taking it again.
Our dog got hurt this week. Apparently some homeless guy was rooting through our garbage cans and Jesse was trying to defend them. He screamed at and frightened her, and, in trying to get away from him, she cut her leg and face. Fortunately, they were superficial wounds, and she will be fine. I was really mad, though. Had she not been so scared, she would have been fine. People are so mean.
I worked out three days this week, shooting for a fourth. My goal is to work out at least four preferrably five times a week.
I think the worst thing about depression is the feeling of isolation, like nobody cares about you. I have decided to keep a journal, and step up the meditation.
The band I used to sing with is playing tomorrow. I am going with my boyfriend to go see them. The piano player also said I could watch their rehearsals. It would definitely lift my spirrits. Darby1, I relate, I just got a program called declutter your life i 30 days.
Jill, I love McDougall. I personally need a bit more fat than he recommends, I don't do well on a fat free diet, but, the grain based diet fills me up, and I don't want to eat junk.
Three weeks from today, I will be going to LA to see my dad, and see a play. Have a good day, all, I'll be back soon, and more often. I need to keep in touch right now.

Hey everyone,

Just checking in. I didn't feel much like excercising today (I know day 2 and I already don't want to exercise) but I went and I'm glad I did. I ran 4.8 km, which is 3 miles in 28 minutes so I'm proud of myself. Iris I hope your exercise goes well today!

Okay, so it's officially 14 days till I go home... workout day 1 of 14: done! I went to the park and walked and jogged a little on the 3.? mile path. Then I came home and did some squats and lunges for my legs and a little more cardio and then stretched.

Tigger, great job w/ your running!

FATCHICKBGONE... How is your mile a day goal going!? I think the obsessionw ith Twilight, is just being in love, and having someone who doesn't mind that you are impoerfect and weird, and still can't be away from you. Oh and of course the whole 'you're not suppose to be together' always gets people. haha I know what you mean, I do love the books and movie but I remember thinking in the movie, that's a little creepy that he said he watches her sleep.

DARBY... The 15th is coming up fast! Have you done well with your exercising?

ERIN... Congrats on your mini goals! Mommy & Me classes look awesome :P

TIGGER... Maybe a gift card to a video game store, one where you can buy new or used video games, would be a good gift for your brother?
How is your 16 day challenge going?

JAZZMEGIRL... Glad to see ya girlie. You can make the 150 goal! YOu can, we know it!! :Cheer2:

CHICKPEA... Tom throws everything off, dont worry about it. You can keep up the great work!

tigger, for day 2of14 yesterday, I just took a speed walk about 3 miles... was feeling a little lazy! today I'll sweat, i promise!

ugh, i am back up to 142.5 this morning, and I really hope it's PMS... it's a little early, but not too much to be possible. I have been doing really well the past few days so I'm going to keep on chugging and hope for the best!

haley, better luck from here on out, you can do it!! =)

Hi! I'm still hanging in there. I have only lost a pound since my last post a few weeks ago. Grrrrr. I am eating too much and I need to exercise. Hey, at least I'm not gaining!

Day 4 of 16: Ran 5 km on the indoor track. It's a lot harder to run on the track than the eliptical. I sprinted the straight parts and 2 guys told me a run "really fast." It made my day although then I was worried when I had to slow down and run a steady pace lol

Iris- Its hard to be motivated every day, but where our motivation fails our commitment will suceed. We will reach our goals!

Kierr, Haley, and Chickpea keep trying! You can do it!

Jill- Thanks for the preent suggestion. It's a good idea. How are you?

I've just been studying for finals. I just can't wait for them to get over!!!! But my last one isn't till the 20th. ugh!

Hey girls,
Well, shopping was a disaster! I never found any jeans. I'm very tall, so I need long length jeans. Apparently only people who wear size 8 can have long jeans! I very nearly had a meltdown in one of the stores. Oh, how I hate shopping!

I haven't been good about exercising. Lots of things getting in the way, but I will make it a priority tomorrow.

Good job tigger and iris!!

kierr-not gaining is awesome!

Haley and Amie-hang in there! It's tough trying to stay healthy this time of year. Amie, I hope your dog is doing alright.

Jill-I saw you updated your blog! Yay!

I'm hanging in there. I'm still trying to eat my largest meal in the morning and my smallest in the evening. So far so good.

Have a great night!

Hey gals! Hang in there... exercise is tough to fit in sometimes (i'm struggling with that today because it's the end of the semester and EVERYTHING is due tomorrow). But I know how much better I feel, physically AND mentally, when I get in ever just 20 minutes, so I'm going to try very hard. Maybe give up chatting w/ my BF for one night so I can work out!

Tigger, I am impressed with your running, I really miss being able to run. Yesterday I was short on time so I did a 30 day shred workout, 20 minutes of sweat and heavy breathing!

Aww Thanks for checking it Darby! It's nice to know someone reads it now and then

So I love buying things at restaurants or fast food or seeing what someone is eating, and making it my way at home!

My lastest creation was Taco Bell's 7 layer burrito: to make it at home I purchased Whole Wheat Tortillas, Refried Beans, Spanish Rice, Avocados & Guacamole mix. Very easy to make, made the rice, heated up other items as I mixed up my guacamole then loaded them in my tortilla! (Now you could always add soy cheese, I don’t like it much, or some Tofutti Sour Cream, also lettuce and tomatoes like they do at Taco Bell. I added tomates to my spanish rice though.)

It is very good

Maybe you girls remember, but I don't eat oil. So the other day I wanted enchilada sauce and it all had oil in it, or chicken/beef broth. Sooo I found a recipe and modified it with veggie broth and it was amazing!!!!

We stuff tortillas with onions, peppers, refiried beans (fat free) and put them in a baking pan, then pour the enchilada sauce over it. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, serve topped with shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. It was an absolute feast! Yummmmmmy!

Enchilada sauce

2 Tbs Chili Powder (more if you like it spicy, a Tbs at a time)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt, unless the broth is high sodium
2 cups vegetarian broth
pinch cinnamon
1/2 tsp sugar
5 Tbs. cold water
5 Tbs. white flour

Directions

In sauce pan add everything except water and flour, mix well. Heat to boiling and reduce heat for a few minutes, keeping it boiling. While that is on low mix the flour and water together in a separate bowl. Make sure it is whisked well with no lumps. Make sure red sauce is still boiling. Slowly add white sauce to the enchilada sauce, whisking all of it to avoid lumps. Whisk while boiling for a minute or two, turn off heat. Pour over your food and eat, or bake for "wet burritos". Yummy!!!

Recipe modified from http://www.cooking-mexican-recipes.c...ce-recipe.html to be milder and vegan.

Jill, that seven layer burrito sounds great! Darby, thanks, Jess is fine, though sometimes I think her protective instincts are touching and senseless, she'll get herself killed. Sorry about the jeans. I'm short, so have the opposite problem. Well, I'm sitting here freezing and tired. Maybe I'll take a nap and then exercise. Did 30 minutes of cardio and weights yesterday.
