  • We went grocery shopping today. It was good to stock up on some healthy food things. Then we went to work in the garden of our friends house. I got nice fresh tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers.

Solly- You must be a very strong woman to go through all you have. I can't believe your knees are keeping you down. And now the rest of it. I'm thinking of you and hopeing you get better soon.

Ellen- How was lunch? The salad place sounds wonderful. Hopefully tomorrow will be better with throwing stuff.

Mercee- Oh boy a personal trainer sounds great. Hope you do good. I'll sure be glad when its cooler but thats a long way off.
  • Good evening
This computer is being a bit of a pain today. I was hoping as the day wore on it would get better but it is being SO slow. Good news is I can at least facebook with the phone. *smile* Walking was fairly good today. We didn't hit the hay until after 3:30 last night so I felt a little worn out most of the day. By the time my niece drug me out for our second walk I was lacking motivation. I did get in almost 3 miles total today so no complaints. The best part of my day was teaching my Niece to make bread. We made sourdough with a little cheater yeast. Adding the yeast allows it to rise in about an hour and is a lighter version that my hubby likes better. It also makes great toast. She also helped me to pick the okra. I made sure to leave a little on the plants so there would be more tomorrow. We'll pick deeper tomorrow so I an skip the next day. We were suppose to plant but I couldn't make myself get it done.

Solly..I am so sorry about your knees and overall health. Praying that you are feeling better soon. ((hugzz)) Hubby and I started on a new blend of oils that are suppose to be good for joints, heart, help with RA, women's issues ect. It is a blend of fish oil, flax seed oil, primrose oil, black current oil and borage oil. Hubby found at Sam's of all places. It is your omega 3's, 6's, and 9's.

Mercee...how totally cool to have a trainer. My daughter was using a trainer and they were kicking her young tootie all over the place. I truly don't believe I could do it.

Ellen..How did the lunch date go?

Toni...super on loading up on the good things to eat. It makes a huge difference. Especially when you get the munchies. I tend to get them when it is past time to eat. I'm working on that but I'm not quite there yet.

((Everybody)) I'm starting to nod off. See ya'll in the morning.

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Good morning! I have had my grandson since yesterday late afternoon. Its the end of the semester and both his parents are taking online classes and had finals due last night. I have been throwing ping pong balls for him to play puppy fetching now for an hour! I just got him interested in Curious George for a bit. I want him to do something quiet so he has some energy when folks get here for Pool time.

I had a good time at lunch. The restaurant is pricey, but they have great variety. I was able to stick to plan...I think! Well, except for the chocolate brownie square I ate! I know..eggs, sugar, white flour...all things I really should avoid.

I weighed this morning. I am down half a pound. After my two all you can eat buffet meals this week, I will take it!

I need to go check on the boy. He gets into trouble if he gets bored with the TV show!

  • Well I'm sick and sorry I've gained 1.5 lbs. I'm so out of control and having a time of it getting back on. Hopefully this is it and made me so ashamed I'll do good this week. I've got the right things to eat now to get going.

Crystle- Yea for you getting in 3 miles. Thats wonderful.

Ellen- A half a lb. is good. Congradulations.

Solly- I hope you're feeling better today. And are resting.

    Mercee- Hows the exerciseing going?
  • Howdy
Well weigh in was okay. I stayed the same this week. Ticker is accurate. I got in another day of walking this morning so that makes me happy. About 140 minutes of walking so far this week.

Toni..hang in there. We all struggle with ups and downs. You'll be back on track before you know it. YOU CAN DO IT. ((hugzz)) You and I are close in weight if not the same so we can lose together. Our only option because we want to be healthy.

Ellen...awesome on the loss. Half a pound is half a pound closer to goal and you were also able to enjoy yourself some this week. Can't ask for more than that.

Wishing everyone else a super weigh in.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Good Morning Ladies:

Solly- I hope you feel better soon. I had my gallbladder removed in November of 2008. If you are in pain from it believe me you will feel better.
I hope they find ou what is going on with your knee. I am praying for you.

Toni- Hope you get better soon. I hope you've been able to get back on track. You can do it.

Ellen- Congratulations on youe loss. Great job. Keep up the good work.

Country- Great job getting that 3 mile walk in. I love okra. How did you cook yours. Last week I made cabbage with okra.

Well ladies I have been to the gym everyday so far and working out a different part of my body after doing the treadmill with my trainer. I am a litle sore but excited.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Hi ladies, I did weigh but was up about 6 from last week. I'm not very concerned with that right now. My leg is about 98% back so that is good. Feels like I am sore from working out. Ha-ha, we know that is a joke. Just went to the RA dr and she said RA was fine but the rest of me was a mess. The knee was just like fluid on the knee but in the back of the kneed. She said they normally don't burst. I told her I am not normal. Got some more alarming news yesterday, but not ready to talk about it just yet. Please send up some prayers.

Toni, you will be better to get on track now that you have some food in the house. Just think of bad food as poison. Would you eat poison? Have you been watching the Losing it with Jillian? Wish she would come to my house but I don't want to be on TV.

Ellen, Glad you enjoyed your GS time. They can be tiring I know. Congrats on your half pound loss. You are getting closer. I get the results of my sleep apenea test tonight. Can't wait to add that to my list.

Crystle, you are doing so good on your walking. Sounds like your niece is pushing you. You could work with a trainer. It is amazing what you can do if you try. I know I really enjoyed it even though they do wear you out.

Mercee, good job getting to the gym so much. Mixing it up like that does make it fun. I sure miss going and working with a trainer.

I have been starving. I ate a bagel Sunday morning and really didn't eat again until Tuesday afternoon and I can't get full. I work up at 2:00 am just starving.

Tomorrow I go for my spine therapy. Have no idea what to expect but hope she can tell me some tyope of exercising I can do.

    Take care.
  • Just passing through...I need to run up to Whole Foods and get some Bach Flower remedy my Chiropractor recommended this morning.

SOLLY: I am worried about that statement about alarming news. I am praying for you, and I hope you can tell me more soon. ((hug)) You know we love you and will be thinking and praying for you....
  • Solly- I will be praying for you.
  • Hello- Just got done having a nice breakfast/lunch of sauteed bell pepper, zucchini, onion, tomato and mushrooms with two scrambled eggs mixed in. It was so good and filling. I've got a cantaloupe to slice up and then I'll have some of it. Eating has been good. Thawing out chicken breasts for tonight.

Ellen- Hope you're having a nice day.

Mercee- You rock girl, keep up the good work.

Solly- I'm praying for you also. My thoughts are with you....

Crystle- Staying the same is sometime a good thing.
  • Good evening
Had another day of walking...that makes four. It has been a LONG time since I've gotten in 6 walks in 4 days. I'm proud of that. I even made the extra effort to hold my arms up during the walk today. Eating was really good except for the sourdough bread. I had two fish tacos for supper. Tomato and okra for lunch and coffee milk for breakfast.

Solly..praying and believing for a reversal of your troublesome news. ((hugzz)) Hang in there. Awesome that your leg is almost back to normal.

Mercee...I just cooked it down with a little oil and some onions. The other day I fried it whole. Talk about delicious.

Toni..thank you. Your breakfast lunch sounds yummmmeeee.

    Ellen...howdy

    Everybody ((hugzz))

    Love,
    Crystle
  • Is it Friday already....... Not much going on here. Going to make a homemade pizza tonight. I've got some baby spinach and stuff like that to put on it. Tonight we have to go check the garden. I'll be glad when its all over. The people will be back Monday.

Crystle- Your walking is wonderful... I got the stuff to make a sour dough starter yesterday. Now I have to figure out when to start it. Its such a commitment.

    Hope everyone is doing fine.
  • Hello everyone!

The garden is going crazy! I have been freezing whole tomatoes a few at a time, and its working out great! (thanks Crystle!)

Still looking for a car. Tom test drove two today. I hate how high pressure the sales people are at dealers. They wanted $600 to tag and title the car...the other car Tom drove this morning they wanted $36!

Off to find something for dinner. Its late...but I am a bit hungry and we have been off car shopping for a few hours.

  • I'm going to try and do my tomatoes like you girls did. I've got about 15 that I need to do something with. We're done with taking care of the garden for friends they'll be home tonight or tomorrow. I'm so glad. Hope we don't have to do that again. Hope everyone had a good week end. We just grilled little steaks and shrimp.

Ellen- Hope you find a car soon. Lucky you with a garden going crazy. LOL

Off to watch Ice Road Truck with DH.....
  • Hello! Its been a lazy kind of day. We went to church this morning, just to find that the baby of a friend of ours that Tom was supposed to assist in the baptism of was sick...so we left and went tonight instead! Which is when we usually go.... We visited a different church this morning. It was nice. Much closer to home...

I got to talk to my friend who is out in Washington caring for her mother. It was nice to catch up.

There is a lot going on this coming week. I will be glad when school starts, and life calms down to the 'usual' routine. Whatever that is!

Time for bed...just took a dip in the pool. It feels nice when the sun is down and the water cools off a bit.
