Once I get into the swing of things, I can more easily pass up the bad stuff for the good or limit how much I eat. But I am lacking the willpower at the moment to even get to that point!
Fortunately for me, my husband really wants to lose weight too so once we're in our own place it shouldn't be too difficult to keep the bad stuff out of the house! We'll seeee

Hi

Thank you all for the support I am still in my slump but am aware of it and and not wanting to go back I worked out Tuesday and Thursday and my plan is to do every other day so I can have a day for house work, DD and DH but was so busy Saturday shopping for school stuff. I figured I did a lot of walking in a huge mall.....? Then Sunday I was going to go up while my DD was in the tub and let my DH get her out and dressed. Well we had a bath miss hap and the next thing I new it was 9:40 and I get up at 4:40! It makes me so mad! When I am on plan, I am so "On Plan". I have great will power and motivation and love to work out, but when I get out of the grove I fall back slowly and have no energy! Then gaining a few lbs makes me even less motivated! Maybe it is summer and yard work. The endless yard work is over whelming to say the least and wares me out! We took this weekend off and will do more this coming. What hurt us was not doing the trimming and ground work last winter. The weeds are growing up through our mulch in the bushes and flower beds and around the tree where the pine needles are old. Man.........This year I am going to do it right for Spring!

We can all do this and your support is very helpful....Thanks!

Hi Ladies

Looks as though everyone is doing so good, so glad to hear that! Congrats to all of you that have been seeing a loss, none going on here but I am maintaining and that, I guess, is better than gaining!!
It has been so hot out up here, very humid to, NOT what you want to go out and excersise in thats for sure! We have been spending alot of time out at my fiances mothers place on the lake and the kids have been loving that but me, I have no motivation right now. When we are out there you'd think I would be right in that water and swimming around and playing and burning some cal's but nope, I just have no motivation! ALOT has been going on with me in the last month and I am positive that that has alot to do with it, hopefully I can get out of this slump and start getting motivated! I keep telling myself, you only have a year now before your wedding and you still have 30 lbs to go, move it woman Do any of you just feel like, why bother? Well that is how I am feeling but I am aware of what goes in my mouth, which is a good thing, I just need to start caring more about me and get back on the weight loss train! Its just hard when it feels like the world is ganging up on you
Thank for listening, I feel better
Have a great day everyone....
Lori

Amoses all that yard works gotta count for some calorie burning. I have a big yard too and I understand completely where your coming from. I love my gardens but with out a doubt its work. My game this year has been to stay on top of it and so far not too bad. But in the beginning it got way ahead of me. After spending hours catching up I am not going to do that again. So count the bending and lifting weeds , mulch, digging etc.... Its a calorie burner for sure give yourself some credit for the hard work!
Lately I have gone back to the journal. I put in there my schedule to work out, intake, wt. , just everything. Reflect back on what I could of done different. I use this as a tool to learn from. This way I can track when I lost what I was doing during that time period that made a difference. I have been doing a lot of swimming this summer and I feel great! I did make a schedule for going back to the gym as that has its own benefits for sure. The schedule seemed to help me get there. I had to make some time for myself as this is important. If I am not healthy I can't be there for my hubby who needs my support with his illness. Hope this helps someone who is stuck in a slump like I was. I had gained back a few lbs. and decided it was time to take charge. I want to feel good and be healthy. I slip here and there but am still working towards my goal. I recently got into a pair of jeans 1 size lower. I can't tell you the last time I ever wore a pair of 8's. They were a bit tight in the waist but fit everywhere else. I wore them anyways as a reminder to be good. What ever it takes! Keep going girls we will all make it!

Thanks cacmsc, I agree a journal helps keep me in line. I had been keeping one for a while then felt like I had gotten so use to it I could keep track in my mind and was for a while. After the vacation slip up and now lack of motivation I think I need to see that number on paper again. Seeing that I may have ate 1700 when I want only 1400 cals a day will put me in my place and scare me back into noting all my cals again. I think that is what I am going to have to do. I remember putting all my food in the online fitday system and if I went over at all I hated it and would find ways to lower that days intake in the evening meals.

I did work out 30 minutes last night and ate fairly light. I am hoping a lb or 2 of my weight gain this week is water weight. I am in early PMS too? I am going up and down from 148-152 ? Back at the first of July I was down to 146.6 .......... So kind of of sad for me.

Hi Holly, Amy, Lori, Ideal all the newbie's..........Doing well I hope!

We can do this! I Have noticed one thing over the past 2+ years, I seem to loose more weight in the winter than in the summer? I though more people gained in the winter? It has been a trend for me. If you all remember last summer from July - September I gained 8 Thanks cacmsc, I agree a journal helps keep me in line. It has been a trend for me. If you all remember last summer from July - September I gained 8 lbs or so. Then lost about 20 lbs from Sept 04 to July 1st of this year. It is just scary when you feel your self slipping because of all the times in the past where you lost and then went right back and gained more. This is the first time in my life though, that I have continued to loose slowly over 2 years and kept it off so??

Good Morning Everyone...I have been busy with camping (and eating), the weather here has finally improved-those hot, humid days have been gone for awhile, but are in the forecast to return-yuck! I went down two more pounds-for no reason, but after camping was up 4 pounds. I'm not sure what is causing the flucuation...tomorrow night we are going to an annual Meican party-so I doubt I will be good there...oh well, there is always another Monday!

Glad to catch up on all the posts and the support here is greatly appreciated- we are great bunch...stay cool and enjoy the weekend!

Today was the day for the little square thing to come out of the closet. I got on and down 1 lb. and happy to see the numbers go down. I don't care how much as long as it moves down instead of up. I am continuing to use my journal and I think it has been helpful. I still put my intakes on one of the sites but this little journal helps me to reflect back to. I am glad I started to track again. Amoses as you said its easy to add in extra stuff and not even know it. How quickly it all adds up and onto our body! We sure don't need that!
Yesterday I had a lovely package from Hawaii arrive. The kids sent me such great presents and pictures of places they go and things they've done. I am so happy for them to be enjoying life to its fullest. I can't wait to visit hopefully next year.
Talk to you all soon and keep up the good work. I still need to get 1.5 off to get back down to my lowest pt. which was a few months back. Then I got careless with my ways! Old habits creep back when we least expect them too! Darn little things!

Sorry I have not posted as much lately-I have been swamped with family events, dance rehearsals, costume projects, and so forth. Hopefully things will slow down here in the next few weeks and I will be more talkative!

Wow everyone must be so busy! Me too but need to ck in to keep myself motivated. I went for a swim today for 30 min. total exercising not just a nice relaxed swim. Anyways I was really feeling it in the end which is a good thing. I did manage to slip in a couple of choc. chip cookies this a.m. a coworker broght in. They really weren't worth my calories though. But I ate them just the same. Hopefully I just burned them off. I made a zucc. parm. for dinner it was pretty healthy and tasty. Well hope your all enjoying your summer. I am off to go camping this weekend on State Land not any luxuries at all. But its only 2 days and will be some fun I hope!

Don't feel too bad cacmsc, a co worker made a home made blueberry pie and brought it in and I had a small piece. Yester another co worker had a bake sale and brought in a large amount of stuff and I ate a piece of carrot cake!!! I am not a huge sweet eater but it is that time for me! Working out tonight for sure!

Hey Ladies,

I have time for a quick check in before I get back to the sewing table. Yesterday went well, I had plently of fruits and veggies through the day, and I met all of the nutritional goals that I set for myself each day. (fiber, calcium, enough fruits and veggies, enough water, etc.) I log these things with my calories in my journal, to keep myself on track nutritionally, as well as calorie wise. It went well.
I had dance rehearsal last night, and rather than learning a new choreography, we decided to have a conditioning and strength session-we all took a turn instructing the others in stretching and strength exercises. I did some strength moves for the core (abs and back) and the triceps (back of arms), as well as the quadriceps (front thighs). It was a good time, and we all felt it after each of us had our teaching session.
Today s cardio day for me...I am unsure today if I am going to walk, bike, dance, or what. I will see how I feel when the time comes to work out, after my sewing work is done for the day.
Hang in there ladies!!!!! Think about how good you want to look for the upcoming holiday parties this winter!

Hey everyone..I have been lurking on your forum for a while...I was following Jorge Cruise for a while and now am just calorie counting. I do still eat every 3 hours and stick with his plan as well as I can b/c it is a lot like calorie counting. I hang out there most of the time, but have been reading your posts as well. You guys are truly an inspiration. It looks like I am starting where many of you started as well. I am doing 5 days of cardio and 3 days of weight training. I will do great calories wise until dinner..I just fix what I can to get it on the table and then end up blowing my calories for the day..so that is what I am truly focusing on. I probably should fix dinner for my family and then eat a Lean Cuisine or something like that until I can get my calories until control at night. I think then I would see a huge difference. I have only been working out for 2 weeks tomorrow with a trainer so I haven't seen any loss. Infact the first week I gained 4.5 and dropped 2.5 this week..so I am working on getting back to where I started a couple of weeks ago. I just wanted to say how awesome you guys are and congrats on your losses!

Just checking in to say "hello". I have lost the gain from camping and the Mexican party. Yesterday i went swimming and even dived in the pool a couple of times-what fun-who says we can't act as the children do? The hot, humid weather has returned, I am a bit sunburned on my shoulders, and tonight we are going to a major league baseball game-I don't like baseball or humid weather-but hey the tickets are free! Take care everyone!
