YAY for all the losers and *HUGS* to everyone struggling.

I'm still losing...slowly. But my main problem is fatigue. I'm SO tired all the time, even though nothing in my schedule has changed. It hit me a few days ago, and I'm hoping it'll go away soon.

Camaswa - thanks for the analogy. That is so true and I think you are right. I think I was thinking subconsciously that I was done. But you're right, this is a constant challenge. I'm just thankful that I was able to see this early and made the correction. Learning that will make it easier in the future.

Default Muscle loss

We have discussed body fat percentage here recently, but what about muscle loss? I was a bit surpirsed today when I asked my counselor what my initial reading was for muscle percentage vs. what it is currently. When i started MRC in November 2011 my muscle mass was 30% and now it is down to 28%. Her advice was to make sure and drink all 4 HNS's daily. Any thoughts or experince with this?

Oh and in addition I have not lost weight in the last 2 weigh in's which frustrates me. I've got 4 more weeks on plan to lose 10 pounds and at this rate it won't happen. It's not that I am unhappy where I am now - just frustrating when there is no loss and I feel like I am doing everything right (even switched to taking their vitamins & oils instead of my own!)

Hey ladies! Down another pound at weigh in this morning! Started Meta Quick today, I'm in central Oregon for my best friends wedding, I figured at least this way I don't have to worry about two-thirds of my meals while also trying to get everything done for her wedding! Wish me luck! Thank goodness she's not having cake at her wedding though, wedding cake is one of my biggest weaknesses!

Ok so here is what they told me: if you are staying in ketosis, you supposedly do not lose muscle. But if you are losing because of simply a calorie deficit, chances are you will lose some muscle. You do not want to lose muscle because that is what stokes the metabolism to burn fat. This is supposedly one of the reasons people tend to regain so quickly, because after a diet is over, they are actually left with less fat-burning capacity then when they started.

I don't know how significant 2 % is in the long run. I do know that I have been weight training pretty religiously and am not losing muscle. Last time my muscle mass stayed the same and the time before that I gained muscle.

In Tom Venuto's book, Bur nthe Fat, Feed the Muscle, I read that a good goal for protein consumption is a gram for every pound of desired body weight. So if that is right, I should shoot for 160 per day. 4 HNSs is 60, plus something like 28 per 4 oz of meat. That's pretty close to 160.

If you don't weight train, you might think about starting. It makes a huge difference in how you look. Plus it feels good.

You are welcome. And you can remind me of this when I hit my next bump in this road, ok?

Default Metaboost anyone?

Hello,

I am new to this blog. It's so awesome to see all of the success stories. I started MRC in late March and hit 30lbs today. I am on the beige menu (6 0z of protein) and am getting a little tired of eating so much meat. The counselor mentioned Metaboost to me. Has anyone done metaboost? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Thanks,
J

I do not know what Metaboost is, as I was on Meta Slim, but am curious to an answer. Are you varying your protein, adding fish, different proteins, etc. to diet? That helps.. I felt the same way at first, but I found that everything blended it when I changed variety of protein and how I prepared it.

I got on scale this morning, and up one full pound. Only thing I did was up nuts, so will scale back on this.. This is an on going challenge, with me.This happens when I eat nuts on their own and at night, so will have to change all that.

Has anyone found any jeans that do not have that FAT flap on front where zipper is? I have been buying the Glorida Vanderbilt Jeans, as I like the slim legs and they fit great, but if I wear a tee, that covers the fly front, there is a bulge there and looks crappy. Even if I wear a blouse or tee and tuck it in, there is a bulge there and it is not my belly..LOL... used to be my belly, though, as I was known as the tunic queen, as I wore those to hide it all, before I started MRC.

For those that are starting out on their weight loss challenge,Just an inspiring note. In paper there was another article and picture of a gal from my center, that went from a size 22 dress to a size 6. My goodness, a whole different person,so ladies, this can be done. I notice when people lose their weight, they get into skinny clothes and those new wedgie shoes or spike heals and they look fantastic.

Wishing everyone a great weigh in, and those struggling, hang in there , it is so worth it, and come to this forum, and you will find help the help you need.

Have a wonderful day. Did not mean to ramble on so.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!! let the festivities begin!!! read though a bunch of posts (catching up) early holiday deadlines and i am selling my tush off!! (i sell ads for 6 newspapers (haha, if i weighed 100 lbs. i'd still have a booty!)

wasn't sure who posted that their counselor told them to double up on the HNS on a busy day when you're not sure if you can get 4 in w/ a busy schedule but that was great advice!

i've gotten a bit off track (still maintaining at 164 which is a miracle in itself!!) so am pulling out all my materials and rereading them and will start Monday like it's a brand new day and get back in the honeymoon stage and follow the plan just like it's written :-)

i'm like Jen when she experienced a small gain and immediately made sure she could wear her size 4 jeans. if my scale goes up abit i'm like OH, NO and immediately try on my new clothes. and that's ok... it's just water weight and have the tools for life to get back on board.
i will never gain all that weight back - never ever!!!
i love the honesty and support on this forum and have learned so much!

Have a wonderful Memorial weekend!

Happy Memorial weekend, everyone!

Down another pound this morning, happy dance!

I've never really looked at the little sheets that print out with % of muscle, but I'll have to next time. I'm curious to know if I've lost anything.

The human body and weight loss is such a mystery to me at times. I have been eating slighty off program, not bad, just figured I was going to maintain and after holiday weekend refocus. Well I just weighed and was down another pound. Crazy, but I am so happy. Maybe it was a case of changing things a bit. Had a big salad at Panera yesterday and big bowl of veggie soup the day before. I am so motivated reading all the posts and so proud of all of us! Time for an HSN and a big water! Congrats to all the losers!

OMGoodness! I LOVE Panera's! We don't have one where we live...and that is probably a good thing, because aside from their wonderful salads, I really like their breads too!

Not too intimidated about this Memorial Day weekend at the moment because we don't have a ton of eating out plans. If I can plan my eats at home, all seems to stay well for me...LOL Reality is that life happens, so we just get back up, dust off, and move ahead. Thankfully there is always tomorrow...or even the next meal to make better choices...

I am not sure what "Metaboost" is either...Hmmm, interested though!

Have a great day ladies...

I'm where you are regarding weight loss - nothing in 3 weeks, have 10 lbs to go and 5 weeks left on program. I was stressing myself out so much this last week that I decided to "let it go" - not the program but stressing. I have a lot of traveling in next 5 weeks (one trip is 2.5 days to fishing camp and 2.5 days back - yikes) so I will do best I can. Hope all have a fun and safe holiday weekend. Thank you to our troops - past and present.
