I am loving being on the 1500 calorie maitenence for weight loss, it is so much easier, and it seems to be working. Made a peanut butter and bannana smoothie for breakfast, with the chocolate truffle syntrax powder...so good. I did cheat a little and had a Swiss 100 calorie hot coco pop for a milk over the weekend. Found those and fat free greek yogurt and fruit pops at Sams, for those days when i need something sweet. Also stopped and had a sugar free Tropical Snow this weekend after a haircut, and it was nice to just relax and unwind. Now back at work (BLAH!) Gonna be a crazy busy week, fingers crossed that I survive the Zumba class tomorrow, and then the Amped up & Lethal Legs on Thursday (and that I can actually still walk afterwards).

KMCNAIR - Hang in there. I stalled around the upper 180s. Make sure you're getting plenty of rest and water. (For me, 1/2 of my body weight in ounces always helps).

BigDog - Funny you should ask about the boob job. I am considering doing that. I've known of one person who lost around 100 pounds and had an enchancement to make them more (ahem) "perky". I'm rather busty, and mine are a little depressed and downtrodden lately, so we'll see.

Galadrea - Glad you're liking the change! Have fun with Zumba - it is such a great workout! Also, we'll be thinking about you with the stressful work - that doesn't help the whole weight-loss thing either. Hang in there and it's a good thing you've got the job feelers out. Positive thoughts to you!

I'm doing great. Had a good weekend with Zumba and my kiddos. Very busy but I've definitely noticed how much more activity I'm able to do now. Just last night I was playing basketball with the kids at church... in high-heeled sandals... not too smart. But I'm loving my energy and attitude now! Headed to a stabilization party tonight... anyone know what those entail?

Happy (late) birthday, BigDog!

I am considering a boob job after all the weight is gone, because I will be so flat when this is over. SO flat. I've already lost 3 inches around my chest, and it makes me sad to see them go.

Another pound down this morning, so hopefully I'm over this darn plateau...

MKROYER: I am certainly no expert on MRC but it sounds like you keep quite fit - are you on the metabalace menu? I was told on Saturday that if my fitness plan is more than just a daily walk then I should probably switch to metabalance. Maybe you are not getting enough calories. Just a thought - you may want to bring it up to your counselor.

mkroyer, so sorry to hear about your struggle. Have you spoken with someone at the center? They should be able to look at your food chart and go over some things with you to help. Wish I could be of more help but am here to listen to you vent if you need to. Big hugs girl...you can break through this!

Faery-- the thing is, i was MORE active last time, and i used the regular pla, meta-slim, and the weight MELTED off.. i was marathon training, running 70 miles a week, personal trainng 3X a week, etc, etc.. im much more moderate now..... i doont know.... is metablance MORE calories? carbs? i dont understand why eating more frequently would make a *real* difference, KWIM? the 5/6 small meals a day is complete hogwash, as far as dieting dogma goes..... even with little cheats --> my cheat, xtra raw veggies, xtra sugar free gum...... sometime a half ounce or less more chicken....... all things ON PLAN--> even with those, i should STILL be in a substantial deficit.... i should STILL BE LOSING, even if im not losing as quickly... i feel so hopeless about the program now.. ive been avoiding them for a week, cuz i was SO BLOATED last week, i didnt want to go in and be 8 pounds up! but im planning on going in tonight, and with food in my tummy, etc, i will prob be up about 5 pounds from my last weghi-in, and im going to have to buy MORE of their crap. the money seemed wrth it, if it was going to WORK. it is NOT worth it if its not.
Fluffy=- thank you

mkroyer, I saw something on tv recently, and believe it or not, it made me think of you. Have you ever had your thyroid checked? This lady couldn't lose weight to save her life. She gained 50 pounds and couldn't get it off. Once the doctor diagnosed her having an underactive thyroid and got her on the right medication, the weight finally came off. I may be off base, but it's a thought.

ya, i have.. i was seeing an endocrinologist for a while... thyroid levels are within "normal" range, whther low end or not i dont know, but normal still.. my problem was thta i was not producing ANY ESTROGEN, basically. He thought i had a pituitary tumor. but that was fals, after MRI... eventually, after gaining some wegiht back, myperiod came back (ammenorreah was the main reason for the endo, and concerned with thyroid levels)

I'd agree to talk with your counselor. See what they have to say. I know it sounds like you're doing everything right on plan... I myself cannot do any sugarfree gum - it messes with my weight loss. Also, are you resting enough and drinking at least 1/2 of your body weight in ounces per day? Are you drinking anything else?

On the subject of losing weight, had to buy new pants for the husband this last week. Ordered several pairs of 34X36s, black, relaxed fit, from Kohls...none of them fit. He is now down to 32X36s that i had to order from Amazon. When we started he was snugly in a 36X36. This is totally not fair, and I am still squeezing into my 16s. Plus he has to have only black jeans...and I swear trying to find anything X36 is like pulling teeth. I just sent 3 pairs back to amazon that were not quite right, but he now has 3 good pairs for himself (I was in a giving mood, I also got the cats a cat condo, becuase they are not spoiled or anything). I am waiting on buying anything for me until I lose more...but I think I figured out what my reward will be when I am done. I am gonna upgrade my computer to a monster gaming system so I can flatten dragons in High Defenition.

Oh yeah, I think the caffine is kicking in. I went off program a little today and got a skinny sugar free mocha frappuchnio to keep me from falling asleep at work. Since it has been so long since I have had coffee it has made me all giggly. Now off to call people and try not to sound like a raving lunatic!

mkroyer, I know how hard it is to stay on plan when you are stuck or gaining. I was at a plateau for a month, and nothing worked to get rid of it. I gained a pound and then just stayed there. Every time I went in they would scrutinize what I was eating and look at me skeptically like I was lying about what I ate. I finnaly did give in and went off plan for 3 days (of course I was very sick and ate mostly canned soup for those 3 days, it was not fun). I was almost to the point of throwing in the towel, but I think it reset enough of my system that afterwards I started losing again. I agree that you should talk to your counselor, but your body may just need a break, it may have decided that enough is enough and it is just going to stop losing until you are out of this famine period. My suggestion (and I am sure no one else will like this) would be to just take a few days and relax, eat what you want (within reason) and just forget the diet. Then get back on with renewed vigor and kick your body back into gear. You might also try getting more sleep (I know, who has time), but if your body is sleep deprived it is going to thwart all your efforts at weight loss (thwart is a fun word, I will have to try to use it more today).

I hear ya........I have had that discussion with my center - why am I not losing just based on the number of calories I am eating? Answer is usually because you are not taking our pills! I have had a heck of a time losing - it has taken me almost 7 months to lose 25 pounds. Hoping your center can figure something out for you - I know it is hard to do everything right and not see that loss on the scale.

Gala- getting enough sleep, absolutely.... 8-10 hours a NIGHT. most nights... literally, i go to bed at 8 or 9.. sad, sad.....

and in response to your iea of a refeed ( thats technically what it is) i AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY with this concept. But heres the thing, i havent lost any weight since i STARTED...not on the Yellow menu, not on the blue, and now, not on green, with the exception of a 4 pound whoosh which is now back. I am literally at my starting weight.... STILL.... the only thing i AM doing differently is that i am NOT in intense training right now, which i thought would work tomy advantage. Believe me, i excercise, everyday, i ride my bike to/from work (25miles round trip, gove or take) i go to the gym EVERYDAY and i run, or i walk or i strength train, but nothing high intensity......

im going to talk tomy counselors, of course. ... but i dont keep a food sheet.. i know, BAD. But i know what i eat, i eat the same things eevery day (basically) ima chicken and salad sorta girl.. and im in love with alll the coleslaw recipes......... eggs and fruit for breakfast. Maxing out HNS, drink at least 100 to 150 oz of water a day ( always have) oh, the OTHER only thing thats different is that im on COrti-trim this time.i wasnt last time. SOmetimes i over eat on the veggies... the VEGGIES for christ sake. ANd im awatre that splenda, and i cant believe its not butter spray, and wishbone salad dressing and pam have calories.....

Im eating 1000 to 1200 cals a day, high protein, low carb. i SHOULD BE LOSING WEIGHT. ARRGGHHHH

i was SO HAPPY to see that whoosh...after 3-4 weeks of NOTHING at the beginning, and now its back.....all of it. i havnet gone off to dinner, i havent binged..... i will acknowledge to, aat times in the past 4-6 weeks, putting a bite into my mouth that wasnt on-plan... a bite of my daughters spaghetti, a piece of licorice..... enough to throw me out of ketosis (BUT I HAVNET EVER MADE IT to Ketosis) buti did NOTHING since i had my whoosh to put the weight back on... it was the motivation i needed to really stick to it correctly, and its backfired.

sorry all, i really am upset about this..... doing MRC a second time was a last resort for me, because it screwed my metabolism up so badly the first time..... but i decided the risks outweighed the benefits, and here i am... not a single.pound.down. since day one

mkroyer - any caffeine? I stall with caffeine. You would think that it might help weight loss - but for me it is the opposite. Just trying to think of anything helpful that might be of use to you.....
