  • Quote: ... i've gotten a bit off track (still maintaining at 164 which is a miracle in itself!!) so am pulling out all my materials and rereading them and will start Monday like it's a brand new day and get back in the honeymoon stage and follow the plan just like it's written :-)...
I have a question bigdog - what is the honeymoon stage for you - very, very beginning with preconditioning? TY
  • The counselor said that the metaboost was a 4 week long program for $200, but it includes a liver detox, super veggie mix and a menu. You can loose up to 3/4 a pound a day. It is less protein and no starches- just fruit. Before spending that much money, I wanted to check to see if anyone else has done it. This site is awesome. I love how everyone is so supportive!
  • Hi everyone, Im a newer member here. I have been having a problem that when I have a loss all I want to do for the next couple days is eat everything I cant have and Im getting to the point where Im not sure if I can say no anymore. Does anyone else have something like this happen to them?

Oh also how do u get one of the cool scales to show on ur posts?
  • I am freaking out this morning and asking for pancakes! Odin (seizure kitty) had eye surgery on Friday (his lashes turned under and rubbed continuously on his eye) now the cone is causing him to have fits and seizures. We have taken it off and just have to follow him around the house to make sure he leaves the sutures alone. I don't know what to do, it is a **** of a thing to wake up to having your cat growling, shaking, swinging his head side to side, and trying to gnaw off his own foot (i think it was the only part he could reach in the cone). This has been a crappy morning and I have only been up for an hour. I just want a nice comforting muffin and chai tea latte...and to cry. we did this surgery to help him feel better, not to make it worse. crap crap crap crap crap!

As I has said before never heard of this.. Emailed 4 of my friends that are on MRC diet and they have not either.. I have only heard ofMeta-Slim, Meta-quick and Meta-Balance.... Is there any reason why you cannot go on any of those diets, and why are they trying to have you do a liver cleanse? Also, once four weeks are up, what diet do you go on then? Have you signed up for this yet? I got to maintenance being on Meta Slim, and it is a very good program,if you are honest and work the program and stay OP. Curious as to what others have to say. Don't mean to ask so many questions, but maybe I can help more .

  • Lovetifish.....What I meant about going back to honeymoon stage is to follow the green menu like I did in the beginning, get all my water in and get back to tracking online with my fitness pal. And drink four HNSs daily and eat more salads and veggies. Getting back to the plan with renewed motivation.
  • Hi Patzie, I don't mind the questions at all. I have been doing really well on program. I just happened to mention to the counselor that I was having a hard time eating 6oz of protein with each meal. It may sound strange to some, but I feel really full with all the water, protein, and veggies. Perhaps my stomach is shrinking. I probably will not go with the metaboost, especially since no one seems to know about it. I will however ask questions on Tuesday when I go in and report back on what metboost is.
  • Nashua Nutrition has free shipping over $49 through end of today! MEMORIAL49 is the code. Diet Direct was out of Vanilla Bean Torte of the Syntrax protein powder so went to their site to get my Chocolate Truffle and Vanilla Bean Torte. looks like they have other flavors too...double stuffed Cookie looked good :-) i don't like too sweet though so the Vanilla Bean and Chocolate work for me... hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend!
if they had Dark Chocolate, that would be perfect. i'm thinking i could probably get some unflavored chocolate cocoa to add...has anyone tried that?
also, i got the Dark Zone Perfect Nutrition bars this weekend from Kmart..$6.99 for 5 bars (reg. price) Dark Chocolate Almond...yum!!!!190 cal, 6 g. fat, 22 carb., all the vitamins, 12 g. protein. i'd love if they had sugar free to reduce the carbs but not too bad. i'll use as meal replacement only and add veggies.... very good and not sickeningly sweet like some of them are.
  • Camaswa - I just love your analogy of auto-correct. How true - I've also been thinking about this over the weekend - had some off-plan choices (smores) but corrected the next day with 3 miles of walking and salad/water/protein. Feeling much better today.

Although I know I won't be perfect on the plan, I can still live, recognize when I eat something not-ideal, and then readjust accordingly... I think, for me, it makes this more of a lifestyle change to know that I can have something sweet, but I must be prepared to eat well the rest of the time and add more exercise to make up for my treat.

We went camping this weekend, which was nice. I saw it as a trial thing for our big family camping trip this summer (10 days - Yellowstone)... I think I did okay - had a s'more one night and a bite of grilled pork another night - but I added 4 miles of walking the next day and tried to stay up on the water. Also, my DH decided he was hungry one morning and ate my cereal bar! I was a little upset, but realized that getting angry wasn't going to do any good and it just made him feel bad ... so for Yellowstone? Bring more cereal bars (for him too), make sure I count all my water consumption, add more walking/hiking to accommodate my off-plan choices, and get some rest!

Feeling pretty good - but you guys are right - I definitely notice when I'm off-plan, my stomach hurts and I just feel lethargic and "blah"... would much rather fuel my body wisely...
  • Weighed in and gained 1 1/2 pounds, putting me at 4 1/2 pounds under goal. Good I lost additional pounds before going to graduation, as there was no reason I gained this week at all. Must be a lagover from being away, which has happened to me in past. I have gained weight a week after being away. Sooooo back to green menu I go.

That sounds like hype to me. A liver detox? Seriously?

Talk to your counselor! Go to the Connections class on emotional eating. It sounds like you may use food to relieve stress as well as to reward yourself. Perhaps think of a small non-food reward whenever you lose a certain amount.

Your numbers look really good - you can lick this feeling!
  • Had a "I don't give a crap" weekend and ate very poorly these past couple of days (yes, it was stress/emotional eating!) Is it really possible to gain 4 pounds in 2 days? cuz that is how much I gained! Anyway, today I am going back to the yellow menu and will do for 4 days. Last time I ate off plan for a few days while on vacation the manager at my center asked if I had done meta quick or the yellow menu. I knew about the meta quick but never thought to go back to the yellow menu. Anyway, back to the yellow menu I go since I don't do well with meta quick.

Rachel, You did great! I went camping too and have a lot more course-correcting to do than you, ha! Seriously, camping is kind of hard. Everyone goes for simple things like sandwiches. My husband loves to make desserts on the campfire with a Dutch oven. He makes cobbler with bis quick and canned fruit in a sweet syrup. Its not even that great, it's just a tradition. And it seems there's a lot more snacking and beer around. I came home just .2 pounds up, which is good, but I had wanted to be down. Onward...
  • Well I got my mind back on the right track. I went to stabilization WI today and was the same. I was happy with that. One more week and I will get my maintenance menu. Sounds like everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend. Keep up the hard work and you will be rewarded.
