I feel like I'm doing better with running this year, because I have given up on listening to music. I kept trying to always match my pace to the tunes and it never felt quite right; always too fast or too slow. So now I listen to NPR as I jog, and I'm able to just keep going and going and going. It was stll in the 80's when I went out and it sure felt too hot to run, but it turned out to be GREAT.
whats npr? I know I probably sound real dumb or something.

  • I don't know if I'm addicted to the running or the results I get from running. I feel great after I finish. SlimCB I started a walk run interval before I got to running. Currently I'm running a mile and my goal is to run a total of 10 miles for the month of July. I have one mile to go. It doesn't count unless I run the whole mile without a walking break.

What I did was I would run a minute and walk 3 minutes. I listened to my body an increased my run intervals. One day I just started running to see how far I would run. I made it my first mile. I didn't run a mile again until after the 4th of July. I went back to doing intervals. I think you can do it, just take your time. Run one minute intervals for two weeks or until you feel like you can increase it. Then only increase it by 15 seconds. There's no hurry.
