Well, the good news is that I'm an excellent maintainer. The bad news is I'm supposed to be losing a few more pounds. I hit my food plan today though, so maybe I'll get a week's worth of momentum out of that before I maintain again.

Also my house is picked up, getting cleaned tomorrow, and almost everything is off my to-do list. And I've flossed.

Heading for bed, looking for about 7 hours of sleep and then start all over again. Goodnight comb, goodnight brush, goodnight nobody, goodnight mush!

I'm glad you all are here. It helps.

Anne

Hi Anne, Robin, Lilybelle, Gina & all the other maintainers,

Good to hear that everyone is back getting into routine. I am struggling with 10 !!! holiday pounds, too much stress eating, and difficulty to get back on track.

I have the feeling we are all in about the same boat.
Be carefull out there,

Have a great day,
rabbit

Rabbit, I think you're right -- we all seem to be in this together; it must be something in the water. And like Anne says, I'm glad you're all here. Chicken-spinach-rice packed for lunch; treadmill just waiting for me to finish my first cup of tea. Then yoga. Things are looking up. Thanks for your note Reg2424.

I have now been maintaining for 2 whole months. The scale was down 3 lbs. this morning which made me happy. I went to Physical therapy on my foot today. The PT lady said that after the nerve study on Friday that I most likely will be sent to a neurosurgeon. Whatever it takes, I want my mobility back.

Well, I managed to maintain over the summer (hey, school's started, it must be fall! Not to mention the 40 degree weather in the mornings ) but now I need to start losing again. I'm pretty much back into my gym routine, and have no travel plannis til mid-October. I'd like to kick the cardio up a notch. Lots of reasons to get back into goal range: family reunion (DH's family) at Thanksgiving and a trip to Costa Rica in Jan/Feb Not to mention getting my dr off my case.

Good to see you Robin. Sending you good thoughts for a quiet year in adademia!

Hi maintainers,

I feel so bad that I've been gone for a few months...let me assure you it's been busyness, not falling off the wagon, that's kept me away. The last few months have been good exercise-wise. My workouts (cardio & weights) have been consistent, varied, and increasing in intensity. Since my knee troubles in the spring I haven't had any problems. I got a bike for my birthday, adding another cardio option to my routine. Also nice new guy at the gym has been very helpful and providing unexpected support.

Food is still a trouble. Everyone I know seems to have parties all summer long, and there have been "special" occasions a few times a week. That's always been my trouble with food - I can plan out to wazoo and then I go to a party and there's cocktails and sweets and that's it. I haven't behaved too terribly, I just am *still* sitting above my maintenance range. Been maintaining at 140-145 rather than 135-140 for TOO LONG now.

As 4rabbit mentioned, it sounds to me like I'm not the only one who's fallen victim to summer festivities! I just can't get it through my head that there are special events year round, every year. After a few years of this "being good to myself" thing I still can't wrap my brain around that - it's a party, everyone else is enjoying themself, why can't I? And enjoying myself somehow translates into extra food and drink, even though it doesn't necessarily need to.

Other than that life has been good. Work is good, my family came to visit over the summer, BF is good, friends are good, been diving and boating and having fun - no drama or big events here.

lilybelle, I hope your nerve study yields productive results. Sounds unpleasant - I hope you get your mobility back soon.

Hi to everyone else!

Hi, everybody,

Glad so see so many people on track. I am trying but slipping but at least I am trying.
Three kids in school. My oldest already has problems in math - that is after 2 days. Lots of work at work. Business - my kittens (I breed registered ragdoll kitties) - one of the new additions brought in eye infection and all my cats got it even though i isolated a newcomer... Must be air born... Anyways, 350$ bill and shots and antibiotics later I am upset especially that the breeder she came from said she was fine it is my fault (she had a bit of discharge when we were picking her up but it was so hasty and in the middle of the road that I did not insist). The good thing - she is adorable little bundle of joy and we love her.
Exercise - my buddy is preggo and I finally found another one... Today is the first day. We will try to leave earlier as with school start I need to be home to pick up kids.
You guys are so inspirational... I hope all the injuries I read about here will heal soon...
Cheers,
Sash

Hi everyone. I am back from my nerve study. I thought it more like a torture chamber. They did both legs for comparison and also several needles in my spine. I had no idea they would do all this. The most painful were the needles in the top of my foot. Very glad it is over with. The technician did say there is definite nerve damage and muscle damage. I expected this. I see the orthopedic Dr. again next Wednesday. I got home an hr. ago and took a pain pill. She said it would definitely hurt this evening and tonite. My nerves all feel tingly and jumpy. She did say that only time will heal my problems and it may take 6 months to a yr. She suggested I get an exercise bike and just strap my foot to it and try to ride it. I may do this, I hate not being able to get in any workouts.

Hi All:

Lily hope your feeling better soon. Don't start on the exercise till you get an okay from the doctor. Sorry it was painful. I still can't believe such a random accident caused so much damage.

Hi to Megan, Pat & Sash good to see you both. I think September is kinda like January for maintence. We need to get over the summer holidays, then its the holidays and we need to recover once again in Jan. I find the summer worse though because its so much longer and every weekend seems like a celebration of some sort.

Glad its Friday here. I have been down in the dumps all week. Just like mush.
Hopefully the weekend will perk me up.

Oh Lily Sorry it was so painful, but at least they'll know the extent of the injury. Rest yourself tonight. (Oh, I bet it's already well into the evening there - it's nearly 3 pm here)

Gina - sorry your down in the dumps. I had a major meltdown myself yesterday having to do with computers, internet access and the idiot manning the ISP help desk. Grrrr. Unfortunately I resorted to self-medicating with my drug of choice - food. Sigh. Today is better, but since I felt beat up, and then bloated from my food choices, I didn't sleep well, and I've had a headache all day. Eating has been back to good choices though, and I've a gym session planned after work. Thank goodness for the weekend. I plan to sleep late, play with my quilting friends, do some cardio, do some housework, laundry, etc. and veg out with a movie! If the weather cooperates I can ride my bike for pleasure and cardio.

Hi Sash - I was thinking about you the other week, wondering where you'd gotten too. Glad to hear your kitties are better. I've looked at your website a couple times. We had a kitty that was part ragdoll for awhile. She was a real sweety.

Thanks ladies. After the pain pill, I got sick at my stomach. I'm better now. I took a long nap. I also can't believe that such a small accident has caused me so many problems. I actually miss exercising. I am going to start using my exercise ball again when I can.Tomorrow here is city-wide yard sales , I may look for a used exercise bike if I'm up to it.

Hi everyone! We're in our new (old) house but sans computer. I miss you all sooooo much. Hopefully we'll be back online midway thru the week.
Apparently I'm doing all right activity and food wise, my weight is pretty stable .... well, OK .... just lucky ... my food has not been healthy at all ....

Hi everyone I'm around and feeling good today. Went to some yard sales and didn't find an exercise bike. I did have a lady that lives close say she is having a yard sale next Saturday and will sell her exercise bike for $20.00 and I plan to be there early to get it. I much prefer my treadmill but since I can't use it right now, I'd like an alternative for exercise. I expected to be in more pain last night than I was, it was a good night.

Hi Gang:

Nice day here in Ny today. Makes up for last Saturdays deluge.
I am trying to un-blue my blues one step at a time. Today I enjoyed the nice weather and played some NY style paddleball. Havent played since I was a kid and it was a good time. I am already sore in my shoulder. Ice and advil for desert tonight.

Pat I hope I didn't spread my blues to you. I know all about self-medicating the blues. Hope today is better. Sounds like you have already moved on good for you. Once I self-medicate I usually overdose about 4 days later...

Susan hope to here from you soon. Enjoy your new home.

Lily good for you on the exercise bike. That will probably make you feel so much better.
