It's been a lovely day here in the far north. DH has taken himself canoeing/fishing for the day, and I've done lots of chores! Oh well, I got to play yesterday at a quilting class with some GFs!

Gina - nope no blues. I was self-medicating frustration and general work craziness. Fortunately, I no longer have a job that comes home with me - crazy as it might be while I'm there. Had an okay weekend eating wise, though a potluck at church was, um, interesting to negotiate. Fortunately they put the desserts on a separate table and I just didn't go there....

Hi maintainers,

lily- I hope you got your excercise bike! The examination sounded not nice, and I hope the pain is over now. I agree, seems like bad luck to have so much trouble over such a small injury at first!

Hi Pat ! Lovely day here as well.

Hi Gina- i'm with you on the de-blue-ing.

I'm not in a great mood myself today. Job trouble again, and I spoke to my union representative about it. I'm up for a meditation session now, usually that makes me feel better.

have a great day all,
rabbit

4rabbit, I will get the exercise bike this Saturday. I need it. I feel lazy. My weight is holding steady. I am not hurting at all now.
I have been feeling a little blue now. I think it's because my son moved out last month. I still see him some, but it's not the same. I miss him. The house is just quiet. He always had lots of friends here too.

I know how you feel, Lily. When my youngest, the only one home, goes places, I feel so blue. If she leaves in 2 yr it will be almost 40 yr with kids!!!!!! I was married 2 and a half yr before my first baby and I survived but I know it will take some getting used to and a whole new mindset.

It's just me, DH and 14 yr. old daughter here now. It's pretty quiet. She's always on the phone to friends. I may be starting to get those "empty nest" blues.

Hi All:
My empty nest is refilled and it is a challenge. My two older daughter are home from school and living back at the nest. Enjoy the peace. Nice weather here so I am hoping to get some steps on my pedometer.
I go from using it to wanting to run it over with my car. I get fustrated when it undercounts or I under walk. Right now I need the exercise for both physical and mental objectives so walk I must.

Rabbit & Pat my husband also has some job stress going on. It is not fun. Sure it will work out, it just is very stressful.

Lilly I really did miss my kids when they were away. It is a big adjustment.

Off to log some step.

Hi maintainers,

hi Gina! Keep up the walking!! I was down yesterday but I find myself better today. The effect of an extra tablet of st johns wort & a power class yesterday. And I'm busy contacting people for my "plan B", so that at least i have some fall back options.

have a great day all,
Rabbit

Hi, everybody,

I broke the laziness routine today - I was in training and had 1 hour break and went down to the gym at my work and did interval training and well do I feel great! I can even listed to next 2 hours of training

Otherwise I am doing just fine. Weight is steady and high, but I realized that my spirits are high again and it makes it better to start!

Dalai Lama is visiting Vancouver, and I could not go to his talk but my frieds went and she said that the main line was on the inner happiness and sharing it around you. I guess that is how I feel now - happy inside and I realized that yesterday when I was cleaning my home I was singing... I am getting back to normal!

Lily, I hope you will get better and if you feel like having a bike - by all means have it. I gave mine away as I used it as a hanger in our family room. I gave away my treradmill too and go to the gym now - thanks heavens it is downstairs at work where I am located 8 hours/day.

Cheers everybody, and to your happiness!

I did use my treadmill at least 5 nights a week until I hurt my ankle. It looks more like a towel rack right now. I think until my ankle is better that I would use the bike, but I want to get a used one to save money. In the podunk area that I live in there is not a gym to go to.
My son called at 6AM today and said someone had stole his motorcycle while he was at work last night. I got up to find his insurance papers for the VIN number , so he could call the police. About 20 min's later he called to say that he found it. Someone had pushed it over the curb at his apartment and down onto the golf course. He was upset and didn't yet know the damage. My DH told him to go buy a wheel lock for it today, so that should help. It's funny how no matter how old they get, we never stop worrying about our kids.

I can't take it anymore. I need to exercise. The scale is the same, but my jeans are tight. I feel bigger. I can't wait to get the exercise bike. I am having such muscle wasting of the left calf, it looks much smaller than the right with loose skin and all. Sorry, my rant for the day.

Lilly - that sucks about your son's Mbike. Some fool reversed into mine and drove off, leaving lots of damage. Of course, since mine is stored in a private car park and I don't ride that particular one, it is uninsured. People are SO INCONSIDERATE! What makes them think that they have a right to abuse other people's property???

My rant for the day

I hope you're able to get on your bike soon - it's great!

Sash - glad to see you again, and glad you're happy. Spreading inner happiness, that's a great thing to do!

Hi maintainers,

lily - feel free to rant as much as you want. That 's what we're here for. Sorry to hear about your son's Mbike.

Sashenka - Wow, you are really close to the gym! Glad to hear you are getting happier, sounds like you are getting some inner peace!

I did a big workout this morning- biked to the gym, did 1 hr power 7 1 hr core+ and biked back. I am going to take a rest now.

have a great day all,
rabbit

I had a demoralizing day at work yesterday, and my swim was weathered out (lightning), and my DD decided to pitch a huge fit at 1:30 a.m. (She was actually an angel yesterday until then, I'll give her appropriate credit!).

But I'm healthy, the scale budged this morning (finally!), and the coffee came out wonderfully today. I haven't yet decided if I'm taking a mental health day from work today--I might. I need some time to think positively. I'm also supposed to run, but we'll see if my sleep deprivation stupor passes sooner than the morning cool so I can get out there. It might be swim day today.

Also DD is growing up, turning 1 next weekend, and I've apparently decided to be very emotional about that. My baby is gone, turning into a beautiful, strong-willed little girl, walking and laughing, pointing at interesting things, not letting a lack of vocabulary stop her from talking. She walks every chance she gets, and stops eating when she isn't hungry anymore, even if that is in the middle of a bite. She has much to teach me. Here I go, tearing up again. I've gotta work on that--I can't afford to be a basket case for the next couple weeks.

Lily, I hope you catch a break soon. Sounds like you can use one. Sash, I'm glad to see you around again.

Anne
