Hiya chickies!

Lost the .2 I was up on Monday, yesterday - and complained slightly at the center, since I've been around the same .2 (up and down) for the past two weeks. They said that they'd wait until next Monday, and see if TOM made any difference, and if I still hadn't moved, they'd forward my diary to the nutritionist and see if there were any adjustments.

BUT - my home scale was down this morning. Ta-dum! Maybe, finally, something is happening!

I've got the carb craver plan, but I've been afraid to try it! There are alot of good pasta choices which will be good for cooler winter.

Although I agree with Amy, I'm getting tired of chicken caeser salads when I eat out at lunch. Did have Thai yesterday - that was good, grilled shrimp, and I stayed away from all the curry and peanut sauces! And only one spoonful (well, two) of white rice. I did pick the carrot blossoms of a couple of serving dishes - not too bad, right?

Dawn -- congrats on your loss

Star, had to laugh about the sodium thing. I was told I couldn't have canned soup because of the sodium, but the frozen dinners certainly have it!

Sy - thanks for the straight scoop on the WW meals - I figured that the reason was something more like that. I did buy the reduced fat triscuits, and will try to find the right breadsticks this weekend.

Sammy, I'm on the purple plan, and the CC portions are slightly bigger. mainly another ounce of protein, from what you've listed.

Has anyone tried the frozen Gorton grilled fish filets?

My breakfast lately has been 3/4 c of plain yogurt, with an apple sliced into it, and 1 tbsp of sugar free apricot jam - it's yummy and keeps me until mid morning. That way I get my dairy in and one fruit. The fruit is the hardest thing for me to get in. I usually only get in two a day.

And, Amy, I'm with you - a vent-a-holic.

Thanks to you all for giving me good suggestions!

I'm looking forward to seeing what the changes are in November.

Julie (without a digital picture right now, but will try to get one soon!)

Hi you two chicks,,,

Fiona - How's the comeback so far? Are you on Platear Breaker? I'm so glad you decided to hang with us. Plus, I think I ran everyone else off.....

Julie - When I got stuck at a certain weight on LA, they would have me do the juice. It always worked. Being stuck is no fun. About the sodium, I work with 7 guys and they all think they have to know everything I'm doing, including what I eat. So they always give me a hard time about the Lean Cusine, cuz of the salt. I tell them if that's all they have to worry about they need to really take a long hard look at what's lacking in their lives????? Maybe's it a sex issue - who knows?

Hugs

You may want to check the ingredients on the peanut butter. When the fat is reduced they usually add more corn syrup and sugars to get the texture right. Sometimes the reduction in fat is not worth the extra sugar carbs. I work for an ice cream manufacturer and I know our reduced fat products have extra sugar ingredients, stabilizers and fillers. You might be better off just using a little less of the regular pb.

Default Good - there's life out there....

Hi Kristi & Dawn....

Kristi - you must be busy, that was a short post for you..... I use to eat natural PB too, it is way different than the regular stuff...All this talk about dang PB is making me want some really bad..... Somehow I get the feeling if you look you wouldn't have any trouble finding a picture of you with a drink.

Dawn - How can you work for an ice cream place I would get fired for too much taste testing I LOVE ice cream, even the low carb ones and that's not good becuz it's the portion size that I have trouble following.....I mean really, who wants to eat 1/2 cup of ice cream?

Star - I'm lucky because I don't have to be around the ice cream that much. My first job was in the lab and I had to taste all the products each day - that was hard to take! We make the Carbsmart Low Carb sandwiches here and they are pretty good. Tiny, but good. The best part is they are made small, so you don't have to measure out a small serving. Because you eat the whole sandwich, it's not like you missed out. We also make the Popsicle Shots here - they are not a dairy product and are made with artificial sweetners, so are fairly low in calories. Gee, maybe I should get a job in marketing!

If anyone wants any more info on ice cream - let me know! I work with the formulas here and can taste test stuff and let you know if it's good or not!

Star - Carbsmart sandwiches are a Breyers brand (they used to under the Klondike brand, but have changed to Breyers). Shots are a children's product. They are beads like the Dippin' Dots you can get at the mall and come in Fruity and Lemon-lime flavors, we also have ice cream shots with cookie dough, but those have more calories (and are really yummy!). The Shots come in a box of 6 tubes at the store or you can get them in places like 7-11 individually in cups. I'm not sure if they have them in Mich., but I would think they do. I always wanted to try the lemon-lime shots with tequila or vodka poured over them! The fruity shots have 40-80 calories depending on size and the lemon-lime are probably lower.

I work for Good Humor-Breyers Ice Cream and we make Klondikes, Big Bear Sandwiches, Good Humor Chocolate Chip Sandwiches, Slimfast Fudge bars, Carbsmart Sandwiches and Fudge Bars, Cyclone, and Hyperstripe, and Popsicle Shots here. Like I said - I try to avoid going near the products!

Dawn: Thanks for the answer on the hormones. My sister-in-law had to have a hysterectomy when she was in her mid-twenties (she is 55 now) and went off hormones after that big scare a year or two ago (after being on them for that many years). I don’t think she’s doing very well without them – more like Dr Jeckel and Mrs. Hyde. She cries very easily and all I can say is – I’m glad that she lives in another state. Yikes, did I say that?

Star: LOL! No, I’m not a plant from LA – they wouldn’t want me because it’s taking me so long to get the last 7 lbs off. But, thanks for the idea - if I ever get laid-off / lose my job – and I’m desparate enough to have to go into sales – I’ll check them out! LOL! I would do great talking to people, but couldn’t sell a thing as I don’t’ like to be pressured and I can’t image doing that to someone else. Car salesmen are the worst for me! No offense to anyone – I just don’t like the way they treat women – like we were all born in a cabbage patch. Hey, I copied the notes from our thread, and when I have a few minutes during the day – I have been writing my replies. That is the only reason why they are so long, and I don’t get fancy with the all the cool images. P.S. The only recent picture that I have (that I can post right now) is from the tailgate from a couple weeks ago – it was before the SU football game. I’ll post it – it may be hard to see who I am, but I’m the one on the left.

Hey Julie – on the Carb Craver with the Purple Plan – you get to eat “REAL” bread (us on Gold can only do the diet-bread). Did you miss that? LOL! Wow, that is the first thing that I noticed with my sister’s sheet. What would that be like – 2 regular slices of bread in the same meal (in the same week for that matter)? If you try it, please describe the feeling – I forgot what ‘real’ bread tasted like. I was like you and afraid to give the CC a try, still don’t use them much. Why not try once a week? That is what I did and didn’t see any weight loss difference.

Star I would also get fired if I worked in an ice-cream plant. I love IC better than PB. I – like you – it doesn’t matter if it’s Ben and Jerry’s or sugar-free/fat-free – it still tastes great to me. I normally only buy it in pint sizes – I swear that when I have purchased ˝ gallon – doesn’t matter - night or day – my subconscience knows it’s in the freezer and it calls my name until it’s gone.

LOL! Dawn, your so sweet to offer ‘taste testing’ ice-cream for us. That is the only way I could stay on plan if someone else ate it for me. I’ll have a sugar-free/fat-free chocolate – ˝ cup only please!

Kristi, do you remember B & R’s Nuts to You ice cream, or something like that? It was awesome! I think you weight the pasta dry, and it actually equals about 1/2 cup. I'll have to find my sheet and read it again to be sure.

Later, Sy

Sy - Oh great, you are smart and cute - some chicks get all the luck.....By the way, where is your drink cup? It was a tailgate "party" right? It must be behind the guy standing next to you, tell me I'm right.....That guy looks like my UPS delivery guy....
Also, that last seven pounds (you talk about so much) doesn't show.....
I just went to lunch and bought some Light MinuteMiad Lemonaide for my get together with high school freinds tomorrow night. I'm taking it to the resturant/bar with me and see if they will put the vodka in it.....I'm just planning ahead girls....
I also bought some Atkins 3carbs Enduldge Peanut Butter Ice Cream Bars and it's all your fault, with all this talk about IC my cart just took me to that section....
Hugs....

Kristi,
I couldn't agree more about "stingy" little portion sizes with so many foods. If I had to eat 1/2cup of pasta, I would first have to decide if it was really worth dirtying the 1/2 measuring cup, cuz I'd be eating it out of that......lol

Maybe I feel like that becuz my portion sizes use to be too big (back in the day). One thing is for sure, I don't have that over-stuffed feeling anymore.....and that's a change for the better....

Hey Chicks!

Since everyone is talking about ice cream, my all time favorite is Cherry Garcia!! Oh my gosh, those huge chunks of chocolate and the cherries!!! Oh that will be a small treat once a year, and I could do only 1/2 C!!!

Kristi-On the PB issue they recommend at my center to get the "all natural" or if you have a place that grinds it to do that! My mom uses the Adam's all natural that is lf or low sodium or something and that is all she will eat! You might investigate!!

Well today has been a wirlwind again! I want to slow down so bad. THe platuae breaker has been tough. I decided to do without Diet Pepsi or anything other than my morning coffee until Monday. I was always a normal Pepsi drinker but I have converted to DP and now I am craving one along with everyother guilty pleasure in life! I keep saying one day down, 4 to go! At least the juice is only 2 days!!!

Have a great day all! Fiona-how is it going for you??? Are you haning in there with me? I am anxiously awaiting my 2nd bar and my big juicy red apple! Dinner-well I could care less about! HUMMMM let me see is it chicken and squash or chicken and squash....

Great day all!

Sy-where would you loose the 7 pounds from??? You are not being overly critical are you????? I am with you though when I decide on something that is how it is going to be! Great picture and you look awesome as does Star and Dawn!

I think I am going to buy a disposable camera and see how that will work. My face is not as appealing as all of your guys because I have a double chin problem or as my husband says, no neck. Oh well if it works I will send something!

Hi ladies, just got back from lunch and read some threads and already I'm craving some ice cream! They really sould make those portion sizes a little more realistic...1/2 cup serving yeah right! I could get that down in about 2 bites! Sometimes, tho, I will take a small espresso spoon and use that for my desserts (when I had them, that is...pudding, ice cream, WW frozen desserts).

Yeah, I think I'm gonna have start bringing my lunch again. I could definitely get more of a variety than eating out everyday. I do like tuna and other proteins, but for some reason chicken is just my lunch preference when out to eat. I would love a ground sirloin patty...or chopped up for a taco salad. Can't do that out tho, cuz most places don't use the good cuts of meat for their patties. Skinny girl's just gonna have to bring back her McD's to eat. If I can just set a goal for at least 3/5 days of the week that would help.

I am on the GOLD plan. I will have to check out those recipes.

I haven't watched the breathing video yet...what's the deal w/ it anyways? Good/bad/useful?

Kristi-I am embarrased to say that I bought the low sodium reduced fat Jif and it was all good! I am down to about half a jar and I was even good but I had it as often as I could on Red but I just switched back to Gold to try to shed the remaining pounds as I know I was doing good on Gold with less exercise!
