Re: the Woman's Weekly article - my friend read it and apparently it is about a book on the glycemic index that was written by a Canadian doctor - my friend apparently has the book.

Sorry I've been MIA a lot lately. Between journalling and moderating and helping set up a new website for my garden pals, life has been a bit frantic. However, I DO read!
I hope everyone has a great love yourself Valentines Day!
Grumble...I'm not in the best of moods today... Odd for me.
I could hardly sleep last night. Yesterday I went into get an eye exam, and it took a freaking hour. Then the eye dr. gives me a card to call an eye specialist/surgeon in town. Turns out I need my left eye operated on. BLAH! I knew it was coming but I was hoping I could last another 5 years. I guess that is why I hadn't went to the eye Dr. in 2½ years. My poor left eye's astigmatism is now off the charts to where they cannot make glasses to correct it, so now it's time for surgical correction. **sigh** That's what I get for cutting it open and then burning it with a curling iron!! (I was 11 and 12. Amazing how it affects you later in life...the stupid things you do.) I am not ready for another hospital stay. Can't get any sleep in there!! Besides, with my luck, while in surgery we'd have a "rare" earthquake in Arizona and the Dr. will slip and there goes my eyeball! Well, on the good side, I'll be able to wear CONTACTS after all of this BS! Yay!!! The light at the end of the tunnel...
Noodles, hope you feel better . being near blind myself. i can sympathize. funnily enough, Montel had a show this week about this guy who made reconstructive parts for people, burn victims and such. the one lady was given a new eye. she got it on show about 10 minutes before air. so i am sure she would adjust better to it. but it just looked strange. her eye was blinking moving natural., the fake eye was just bugeyed there. i remember saying if i lost an eye i would just keep the eye patch. have a new one for every outfit..
i wear contacts and i tell you i love them esp. the extended wear disposables..
