Well, my friend is feeling better. Her parents came into to town to help her out. Her husband will be back in town on tuesday so that will be good!

I managed to stay the same this week so i'm grateful for that I think I've been hit with the stomach virus. I just have not felt right since Saturday. my friend/co-teacher got sick last nite. So i'm think it'll hit me next.

Jeff and I are going to his parents house for his fathers birthday dinner. it's going to be an early one which is good so that way i have the rest of the evening to do things around the house. I'm going to make roasted pecans and hand them out to those I work with. Jeff's mom made them and they were so good.

Anyhow, just have been relaxing today. did some laundry but what else is new.

Hope everyone is doing well especially in doing all the treat making!

Take care

Hi Erica:

Are your roasted pecans covered with sugar. Someone in my Woman's Club makes something like that for our Christmas Bazaar. It's real good and a good seller I just donate money to the Bazaar. I don't cook, bake, can, or make crafts. I am pretty good about donating things to the White Elephant table.

Have a Happy Holiday.

Hello and Happy Holidays to everyone!

I, like most of you....have been extremely busy but I have to say, I've been much busier than I had anticipated. I had all my shopping done, been baking, working and being Hockey Mom and blah, blah, blah........

Soooooo, there was not much time for ole Mom to have time to herself. NOW, I can really start to decorate INSIDE. Bill finished the outside last weekend. I've been away from home so much that I haven't had much time with my family AS a family and we have all been like ships .... passing in the night.

I have NOT been following WW for quite some time now and hope .......no.....I WILL get back on program AFTER Xmas. I'm way too stressed right now......I still grab a peice of fruit or something to take in the car with me and I always have my water... but I'm also STILL maintaining and have not lost an ounce. Hey...the WW program works and when I'm ready to hop on board again....I'll be giving it %120 !!!!! That's the way I lost my very first time and if I did it once, I can do it again.

For all of you SNOW people......WOW !!!!!!! I've been following the weather channel and the news the best I can and I don't envy you. It's actually in the low 40's for us today and that's COLD for Florida.....supposed to get to the mid to upper 30's tonight.
I have so much to tell you all that I think I'm going to write a long letter and just email it to you. There are some things in there that I don't want on the "net" and I'm sure you all understand.

I miss you all ...... If anyone wants to try to set up a time in the chat room....let me know.....I'd love to have time to chat with the OWLS. We're all still here......alive and kickin and even though some of us have been missing in action for a while.....we always seem to make our way home.

Brenda - Hey you MAMA OWL !!!!! Now that is one BEEEEAAAAUUUUUTIFUL baby!!!!!!!
Such gorgeous little creatures they are when so young. They really are God's little miracles. I'm very happy you had a GOOD visit with your daughter too. It's amazing what a little itty bitty baby can do to bring families together, isn't it?

Hey Freddie - You keeping warm????? I don't want to catch you trying to dig some snow or anything....I'll have the shoveling police after you if you do !!!!!! I still don't know when....but I'll get to your place one of these days. Obviously not before NEXT year. LOL.......not even a month away.....THE YEAR 2003 !!!!!! I remember as a little girl...wondering what the world would be like when I was 40 !!!!! I thought it would be like THE JETSONS. ....... and as close as we may be to that.......we're still not there......THANK GOODNESS. I like the "good, old- fashioned way of doing things some times". Don't get me wrong....modern technology is a wonderful thing.....but I also like to hold onto things from the past in my family and make sure they are never forgotten.....family and memories are very important.......atleast that's the way I feel.

I'm done now. Are you all still there???? ..... or have I put you to sleep.

Here's hoping you all have a good night and stay warm and safe.
Big hugs to you all.....

Hi Pamela Jo:

I am keeping warm although I seem to have a cold. I fell again the other day and after I decided I didn't have any broken bones finally got up off my kitchen floor. Now I ache all over and have been taking 600 mg Ibuprofen. The only place that doesn't hurt is the palm of my left hand because when I first fell I decided that is when I hurt and I put an ice pack immediately there (hehehe).Well I can still laugh.

Freddie (who wishes all the night owls Happy Holidays)

got the sprtiz made and they turned out ok this year..new recipe so I will use it next year too! Made the trees with green dough and green sprinkels and drizzled white icing over them like snow and topped with a red dab!! They look nice..........made tons of other stuff too and and I am eating way to much this year..be glad when they are out of the house!

O do two kinds of roated pecans..one with sugar and one with garlic..they are both great!

I always cut back on my healthy food to add in the cookie calories....not a wise healthy choice I know And I will pay with pain.

Wow Candice:

The garlic-coated pecans sounds great to me - less calories than the sugar-coated ones.

Ok, so right now I'm making the roasted pecans...Jeff's mom showed me how after she had given me the recipe. They are very easy to do and are soooooooo good! I just use egg whites and sugar and melted butter.

CANDICE: you HAVE to give me the recipe for the garlic roasted pecans. I just love garlic. I can't get enough of it! I do have to agree with Freddie, they do sound yummy!

Nothing much else going on here. Just roasting the pecans and on the computer.

I'll catch you all later.

Bye

Hi:

Does the garlic coated pecans have to have egg whites too? I am not messing with egg whites! I will eat my pecans plain before I do that.

ok here is the recipe and it is yummy....... and no eggwhites!!!

Garlic roasted pecans

Preheat oven to 300

4 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup butter melted
4tsp worchestershire sauce
1TBS garlic salt (or powder if watching your salt intake)
1/2 tsp tabasco or any hot sauce

Mix together and pour over pecans and coat them. (make sure they are on a greased cookie sheet or I use that release foil stuff.) Bake for 30 min at 300 stirring a few times. Turn out on to paper towels to abosrb excess butter and cool! Store in an air tight container! Yummmy!

Going to go to Virginia Beach to taste your garlic roasted pecans (just kidding!).I can't make them until I get a new stove. I cook everything right now in my microwave, my George Foreman grill, my small toaster oven, and a propane hot plate. Not getting a stove until I have my floor fixed where my son ripped a piece up when he moved my refrigerator in order to get the old stove out, which I donated to the Salvation Army. After the floor was ripped, I canceled the new stove order.
