Eating healthy at least 80% of the time has never been my problem...LOL...I just eat way too much left to my own desires....but at least 1/2 the time I do manage to stay on track these days. I just have a very big appetite ...and a very big tummy.....something tells me they go together.

Yes, I would love to have this type thread here in the over 50 forum! I think it would help us stay on track cause I really felt awful having to report my meals yesterday! I knew I could without anyone being mean but it was embarrassing enough that I hated to do it which is a good thing...It makes me face up to myself, you know?

Although I enjoy chatting with woman of all ages, I esp enjoy those closer to my own age so it would be great to have this type thread here!

I started a Daily menu thread under 50+ but not under the Golden Girls. We have 3 people so far signed up. Check it out!

Mary...The key to my easy weight loss is fiber, I've harped on this before but 40-50 grams of fiber per day does it for me. You want to add fiber gradually and drinks plenty of water if you consume that much, It really does keep me full. I don't know anything about diabetes and if eating that much would throw you off but worth looking into.
I doubt you are any older than me LOL...I am 67.
I eat MUCH less than I did when I was in my 40s & 50s but I still can eat a lot.

how do you fit 1 or 2 hours of exercize into your day!? I am on the road or working or sleeping or eating all but about 1 or 2 hours...then there is the laundry, the mail, the relationships with friends and family...

It would be hard to work in exercise when working like that. I'm retired so it is easier, but I do find that if I don't do it first thing in the morning, I don't do it. When my dd was working, she used to get up extra early to go to the gym before going to work. Of course, she was a lot younger than us in this 50+ forum, and I don't know if I could do that.
Only other advice I can give is to just do what you can...park a little further a way so you have to walk, take stairs instead of elevators or escalators (or walk carefully up or down the escalators, I do this). Exercise with a video in your room before bed. Even a little bit helps...there are even some 10 min exercise routine that if done consistently supposedly have good results over time.

Default End of the road

Thanks to all for the 4th of July challenge. I am doing much better at watching what I eat. Got the confirmation from you that I don't need to eat as much as I did when I was chasing after 4 kids. I have been taking my vitamins, getting some exercize, drinking more water in the evening and watching my posture...all in all, I have felt better with doing the small tasks...
went a little nuts with the after 4th-left over smore supplies. But now it doesn't seem like such a habit to hit the kitchen over and over.
Blessings all!
