  • Hello Girls:

It's been a really long time since my last post but I'm still around and still running. Although last week I only went out once this week I've been good and went out twice already. I'm thinking about adding one more day to my routine, run 4days instead of three. I'm doing pretty good out there considering I only ran once the past two weeks. I still have a long way to go though. Sunday I'm going to run my first 20 minutes staight with no walking in between....I can't wait to see how I'll do!!
With the snow slowly melting and the temperature dropping after sunset there is so much thin ice I just about slipped a few times.

Laura - How is the marathon training going? How many miles are you up to for your long run? I am at 18K which is about 11.25M and my pace is slow, as in 8 min on average for a Km which equals about 12.8 min for a mile. I know I could go faster if I really pushed it, and my partner and I have working on speed a bit, but not so for the long run.

hi everyone. its been so loing since i checked in with y'all.

annie, i am only up to 8 miles right now for my long run. i do that this saturday. should be interesting. right now i am doing about a 11:20 a mile pace. my goal is to keep it below 12 minutes a mile. i really want to get faster though because i want to be able to run longer distances without having to invest so much time in one run. pretty soon i won't be able to run my long runs before work because it takes me so long to run them.

i have been sticking to my plan pretty stictly. i skipped a couple of days but thats it. i'm averaging about 25 miles a week right now.

yesterday i tripped and fell again. does anyone else trip and fall when they run? this time i landed on my side. my shoulder is killing me this morning. i wasn't bleeding though so i shrugged it off and finished my run. it went really well yesterday. i had a 6 mile run before work and then celebrated st. patties day with some delicious beer. beer always tastes better on a day that i get a good run in.

its time for some new running shoes and i am getting excited. i think i might let mine go a little longer but i am dying to get out of these motion control shoes. not the best for long distance running i've found.
  • Speaking of pace, at one time I had found a site that would calculate for you your pace by putting in your time and distance in a run... Does anyone have it by any chance? Thanks in advance gang!
  • Runner's World has a bunch of nice calculators, all linked from a drop down list at the top of their page. Here is the specific link to their pace calculator.

You guys keep running! I'm still grounded, but I'm hoping my OB will at least let me start walking again next week.

  • Thanks Anne, that is the calculator I was looking for .... Take care of yourself girl, you have the rest of your life to run, believe me you'll get plenty of running in after your child is born ...
