Home!!!! Wow. What a great week we had!

Sunshine every single day, but none of the excessive heat and humidity, because we were right at the beach, and had that ocean breeze blowing all the time. Oh, and yes, yours truly is well tanned up again after looking all winter long like the underside of a fish's belly. (grayish-green, for those who haven't seen a fish's belly up close) The house was extraordinary - huge and with every possible amenity. My kids are amazing. I feel very loved and pampered. My dd2 and her son - and dd3's husband stayed from Friday night through Sunday night, my son & his fiancee stayed through until Monday night, and my dd3 and the twinnies stayed through Wednesday with us. Then it was just dh & I through Saturday morning. We spent the better part of every day at the beach, and I'll try to post a few pictures...I was able to change my avatar last night, but then lost our internet connection. It's been on again-off again since all those storms here in MA on the 1st of the month. They've had techs from the cable company out here a bunch of times - dh even had to come home from the beach Monday & Tuesday to meet them - but it's still messed up. I'm typing this in WORD and will copy & paste to the
GGs so long as the internet stays up. If not, you'll be seeing this a little later. Oh, we all had such a great time together, and the twinnies really loved it...learned a new word... BEACH ... and woke up every morning hollering for their bathing suits and getting half-way out the door until somebody grabbed them back and got a little breakfast into them and some sun block onto them.
I've been trying to get caught up with all the posts...where is
Karen3????? (
Lynn, do you have her contact info?)
Also see that we have some newbies....welcome
Marie, DebbieOBX, Danielle and
Hedgehog...!!!!
Good for you with the working out,
Rie. We took our bikes to the beach with us and got in a few good rides. I'm feeling awfully fatigued lately, though...my doctor upped my BP meds the last time I saw him (on June 3rd, just before we left for the beach) and one of the side effects is fatigue and a dry cough. Oh, joy. I really don't need either one, now, do I?
Lynn, your daughter is amazing. I know how proud you are of her - and of course the truth of the matter is that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, now, does it?
Marie, what a great job you've done of losing that weight! Really impressive - and I'm LOVING the pic of you with your dogs!
Moving again,
Karen31? Oh, Lordie. You know, I think we're probably going to move once more - when I retire - too, and I am NOT looking forward to it one little bit!
Freda, balancing home & work life has always been a juggling act for me, and I expected that once my kiddos were all grown, that would change. It didn't, of course, because now we have the grandkiddos to add to the equation, as well. I guess the older you get, the wider your circle becomes, and you just have to adjust yourself to having more, rather than fewer people to care about. It's kind of nice, isn't it?
PT, I'm with you on the difficulties in maintaining ourselves OP when there are so many family events and such going on. In fact, I have to confess that my diet deteriorated terribly down at the beach. All I can say is that I start back with a vengeance tomorrow!
Rosey, such fun pictures! Warms the cockles of me heart, it does!
Mary, I'm so sorry that you and your dh have been under the weather! And you're right, when you're not feeling well, it does make you feel old - and in my case, worn out. I hope you're both feeling better today.
Nancy, I think you are entitled to that one night out with your SO - and that he needs to take the initiative to see to it that you get it! After all, it's HIS offspring who's interfering! Just remind him that we DO drive down to my sis's once a year, and that I can easily stop in and kick his butt if necessary!
Gayle, I like your idea about carrying cards to remind yourself to make healthy choices. I may have to do something like that, myself, in order to get back on track. My cards might have to be awfully BIG, though...like maybe poster-sized???? (Maybe I could hang them up in my office?) I already have a picture of how I DON'T want to look on my refrigerator door with the word "CHOICES" beneath it. So far, it sometimes works, other times, not so much.

Omigosh,
Bobbi! I certainly hope that now you seem to have had a proper diagnosis, they can figure out how to really relieve that pain. I have never understood how you could accomplish all that you do considering those awful headaches and sleepless nights. You are truly a strong woman.
Hellos to
Sherry &
Tea!
I've probably missed some. I hope not, but I want to get this posted before our internet goes down again (The cable people are coming again tomorrow).
Hope you're all having a lovely and relaxing Sunday!
