Hi everyone. The meeting this morning was good. I left after the presentation and didn't hang around to network - hate that stuff. But I do want to ask for the powerpoint presentation so I can share it. It ended early, so I got home before 11. I got the laptop fired up, looked at e-mail and made a call.
Bf had an event to attend downtown and was going to take metra, but wouldn't you know it, the train he was taking had mechanical problems. So who knows when it or the next train will come. We drove to the CTA blue line and I dropped him off. Now I'm back home and I think I've lost my VPN connection to work. But I'll post this before I try and get back on.
Shad - Hope Mick has another assignment for you that's more to your liking! Interesting the co. closed the project but still would have had you sitting around looking at the river...
Ceejay - Yeh, I've been seeing a lot of blooming goldenrod lately, especially when I was on the bike trail the other day. I'll have to look up what it means to defoliate crops. Closest I know of is exfoliating, lol.
Michelle - Glad Doppler's on his way. Congrats on the 10,000 steps.

I definitely need to wear my pedometer more often - it seems like I do a fair amount of walking, but I might just need a reality check! It's nice working a home - I'm set up at the table in the 3-season room. I have a view of the yard, and my pretty blooming geranium that's on the patio table. Doggy is loving being outside. He was stalking a squirrel earlier, lol.
Happy - I hope your new neighbors are nice & normal and the puppy will be well-trained and non-barky. Good sign that they're getting the roof taken care of right off the bat. Re the trail - I actually did go to the southern portion in Elk Grove Village - I parked by the Elk Grove (fenced in area of the forest preserve where there are actually elk) and did see some elk. It's less congested over there than the Schaumburg portion, but there were still people all over the trail - beautiful Sunday, no surprise.
Mel - Glad the finances are getting straightened out and no late payments made or fees incurred. Now you can get back to normal, focusing on yourself and being healthy. It's been cool and fall-like here, but I'm hoping for a bit of Indian Summer.
[Jeez, can all the dogs around here just stop barking already?!?! The mailman is coming around, so I know why Coal is barking...]
Annie - Glad the garage door opener repair wasn't ridiculously expensive. Sorry the guy wasn't good eye candy...no fair. For that labor rate, he should at least be easy on the eyes, no?? I was thinking it would be nice to be on the bike path during the week when no one else is on there, but then again that might not be very safe. Okay, I'll settle for sharing it w/ other cyclists, but can all the walkers, joggers, skaters, and clueless wanderers just stay away???
Nothing much else to say. Tonight's movie is "Going the Distance" w/ Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. Got a decent review from a local critic who's otherwise been blasting all the other romantic comedies, so I hope it's entertaining.
Time to post. Have a good Tuesday/Wednesday ladies!
