Yesterday was great day eating and exercise wise. First one in the past 7 days. Hopefully this will get me back on track. Today will be another challenge, but I am determined to win. So I made a log of all the exercise I am going to be doing until December 31 and hung it up on my bathroom mirror. When I accomplish it I put a small smiley face sticker beside it. I know it may sound silly, but I think this will keep me motivated through the holidays. DH looked at it and said good idea. I think he wants one...hahaha.
That is a great idea!!

Jasmine: That is alot of walking...way to go! How far do you usually walk during that time period, or at what pace do you walk? A weekly thread sounds good.
I tracked it a while back and 60 minutes is 3 miles. I may be quicker now though not sure. I try to walk briskly and once in a while throw in a jog or run for a minute if I am up for it and feel like it!

Sometimes I am walking 30 to the liquor store, and 30 back. Other times it is an accumulation of 15-20 minutes of brisk walking.

Okay ladies, here is another thought, how about we also make up a thread JUST for pics! That way they don't get lost and we can all see each other.

Default Incentive Avatar Pic

Alright everyone so I found an old pic of me and my husband and finally figured out how to change the Avatar. So everytime I feel like straying from the diet I am going to think of us in that picture. And everytime I get on 3fc it will reinforce what I sm doing this for just to give me a little added incentive. I may change it in the future but for now thats it. Gotta go
grocery shopping now before I get ready for work. Check back later.

Jasmine I am so sorry about your dentist appointment. I am always nervous to visit the dentist. I always tell everyone I'm not sure which I hate more, the dentist or gynecologist. You are actually handling it really well.

Okay got to get back to work. A new thread each week is a great idea. So are the pictures.

Thanx hun! I am planning on having a great day and maybe I will lose for tomorrow! I hope! I just put on a cream, string sleeves top and noticed I look better in it than a few weeks ago! especially my upper tummy! I am jazzed and I so want to get down to the 201-209's! I can do it! I made the new pic thread and bios thread. They are in this forum somewhere this way everything doesn't get buried under all our posting!

Martini-you poor thing. I know exactly what you are going through. My DH won't do anything unless I through a huge fit and even then he does one thing in the time it takes me to do everything else!!

Ennay-First of all congrats on the new baby!!! Second great job on getting to the gym!! Do they have a daycare?? I have a 3yo and a 1yo; I work out at home because of the daycare situation, although I do hope to get a Y membership (if we pay for a family of 4 we get 1.5 hours of daycare everyday for free!!) I hate those rough nights, I still have those rough nights. Tommy (1) has never slept longer than 4 hours and that was like 3 times. Most of the time he sleeps for 1.5 hours then wakes up screaming. at least we can get him back to sleep quick.

Nikia~ mmmmm, doughnuts, mmmm. Stress of school, I remember the days. Can you get some cambells select soup or lean cuisines just to help you through so you have something quick to make ??

Loveandlaugh~I love going on dates with my Dh, and they are to few these days. It costs so much paying a babysitter, dinner and the movie It helps that we have family, but they aren't always available.

Stopeating~ I am glad you had a good eating day

Littlegg, I couldn't imagine having a stressful job like yours.

Mia, could you walk during your breaks??

Melissa, I am like that, if I eat at different times than usual I am famished. I try to keep some low calorie snacks around so I don't over eat the wrong things. (carrots, Nuts, lilght microwave popcorn, fruits)

Jasmine you poor baby! I hate the dentist, I haven't gone in too long. But all that in one day?!?!?! I shudder to think about it. Make sure you eat soft foods today! I think that weekly threads are great!!

Dolly, I think having a log of exercise is a great Idea!! I used to do that in a spiral notebook, I kept food water and exercise logged in it. For each week I did great I got a star!! I know it is kindof childish but It worked!!!

Zomg, what an ACTIVE thread. I posted all of 12 hrs ago and had two pages of replies to read through! Chatty lot, you are.

So I tossed the donuts last night. Not just tossed the boxes (they were the prepackaged mini-donuts from Hostess) in the trash, because I KNEW I'd fish them back out if I was craving sweets again. I opened up both boxes and dumped all the donuts out into the trash. Now there is NO WAY I'm going to go in after those things, much less eat them if they did come back out. Hah. So there, cravings.

I swear, I was thinking about it, and I realized...those things have absolutely NO reedeming qualities whatsoever. They're pure artificial sweetness. No nutrients. Just bad, empty carbs. Not to mention, they made me horribly bloated yesterday. Why the **** did I buy those things? Next time I talk about donuts, someone smack me and point me to this post, please!

Today I'm back on, though. Toast with butter and a glass of apple juice for breakfast - after my workout! yay! I actually worked out! - and I've already had one big glass of water so far. Doing MUCH better than yesterday, and I really feel better, too.

But now, it is time to get to work. I have an 8-10 page paper due tomorrow morning at 8 AM, and while I've got all my research lined up, I haven't done squat as far as actually writing it. So I gotta hop to, after I go shower. If things go well, I'll be taking a break to go apply for that job today. Wish me luck!

I will get to the personal replies later, when I need a break; for now, I have to get to work!

Default Snow Pics

shared.jpg

I had to share my snow bunnies picture!! If you click on it it will get bigger! It is still snowing and the kids want to go outside, but the wind chill is 21 degrees so I am going to wait until the wind dies down. They are calling for freezing rain tonight and the snow should be melting by tomorrow. I love the snow, but hate driving in it. If my babysitter is early enough I may walk (but it may take me an hour to walk!) I got in 100 minutes of exercise yesterday, and I am about to start my workout for today!! I hope to get in 70 minutes, but I think 50 is more realistic. 30 cardio 20 strength!! I started a December exercise challenge If anyone wants to join. Next month I am going to use my pedometer to count the # of miles I walk while at work. I hope to do 40 miles and 1500 minutes. Although I am going to take Jasmine on!!!!!!

Jeni - yeah they have daycare, that is why I am going. I run in the morning before dh leaves for work, and I have a full weight set but I need to be able to focus to get it done. Its and extra $20/month for 1 kid for daycare and they only have daycare from 9-11am but that works out best because that is when my dd (almost 3) is in school

Nikaia - great job on throwing those donuts out! I read somewhere once that the single most telling factor in long term weight success was the ability to throw food out. So many of us grew up thinking that wasting food was bad. Not as bad as NOT wasting it!

jcatron243, your snow bunnies are so cute

Nikaia, good for you on throwing out those donuts. If I through out food I also mash it up or pour something on top of it too. Good luck on your job interview!

ennay, I have to agree with you on it being bad to through out food. It was drilled into me as a child how bad is was you know, starving kids in Africa and it is a sin. I just try not to buy it or cook as much, but there are times when I just through it out...okay I might give it to my dogs in moderation.

littlegg, that picture will be motivation.

jasmine, the thread with pictures sounds great
