  • hi everyone today i did great except for when i got off work i ended up with taco bell because my inlaws cooked shrimp and im allergic to seafood. i did get my water in though how was everyones day?
  • hey ya'll
I am really not sure if I am entering in this correctly so ya'll please bare with me, I love to see you guys so supportive. I believe it is really something that i need in my life right now. Everything except my husband is really negative. I truly believe that if I get up and say that is enough I am tired of being tired, It will change my life. The hard part is gettin' off my rear end to get up! I am looking forward to getting started just need that little push. (Apparently the forseen health problems and eveything else isnt quite the push I need) But anyways, cant wait to hear from ya'll
    Bye

    Brandi (Bee)
  • Here's your push, Brandi! *push push* Scoot! Up out of that chair!

I'm so touched by the warm welcome here. So sweet of you guys!

I haven't done great on food today; breakfast was teensy cause there was nothing else in the house and all the apples have gone bad, but I had two cheddarwursts for lunch. A guilty pleasure of mine; I'm trying to figure out dinner, cause I don't really have much I can make, other than ramen. But I've almost made it to 1 liter of water for today, which is really good for me. My goal is to get to 2/day soon, but I'll settle for 1 to start with.

Off to the grocery store; Wish me the strength not to stop by 7-11 on the way home!!!
  • Sugar: Don't be a stranger for too long! We'll miss you! Your goals for the next couple of weeks look awesome! Good luck We're always here when you need us!

Ann: You can definitely see how accomplished and excited he is in that final picture. My heart goes out to you for being so strong for him during his surgeries. He has a great mom!

ennay: Never too late! This "challenge" is a bit different than most. First, it never ends! LOL. We make mini challenges, but we all decided that all of our future challenges were going to be done together. We were so successful in the support area during our TG challenge, we just didn't want to see it end! And what a beautiful baby!

Melissa: Anything to stay away from the fridge! You know it's a bad temptation day for me when you see me all over the boards. But whatever works, right? Haha. And speaking of temptations, way to go on fighting your's today!

    Mia:
No worries! You did great today, and sometimes we just don't have that much choices in our meals when on the run. The choices we make when faced with this adversary is what matters. What did you get at TB? I wound up at A&W the other day (travelling 8 hours by vehicle), and I managed to walk away with OJ and a salad. Surprising, their salads are really good! And only 32 cals w/ Light dressing breaking at 72 cals! I think the OJ had more cals than the entire salad .

Brandi: You're doing great, girl! I am all for tossing off the negativity! Your husband will be a great anchor to keeping you at the positive! May I ask, why do you want to lose weight, what are all of the reasons? Not everyone does it for health reasons. We all have different reasons. And each reason is just as important as the next. The end result will be somewhat the same Satisfaction in a job well done, and a more healthy lifestyle . Starting can sometimes be the hardest part (it definitely was for me!), and you've started just by acknowledging that you want to do something about your weight and your health, and going somewhere to get the support you need! One step at a time, one day at a time. Good luck!

Nikaia: Good luck! Pick up a bunch of veggies and prechopped romaine. I love just grabbing any veggies and throwing them in to a salad. I like to experiment with stuff like that

Whew. You can definitely tell that today was a tempting day (hence being on here all over the place, and the digital art! haha). I had to sit and watch DF eat hot wings and steak cut potatoes for dinner, while I picked at my salad. On days like this, I think I may take my dinner to the bedroom and watch TV in there.

I don't know if I mentioned it yet, but I'm thinking about terminating my gym membership. My heart was in the right place, but I just don't have time :S My gym (Curves) is only open on weekdays, from 6am-8pm. I know that sounds like a lot of time, but without any wheels (car), it's hard to get around to get everything done that I need to do. Besides working full time, I also look after a house of hungry oil field guys. My day starts at 6, and doesn't end until 8 most days. It's after 8 and on weekends that I can find time to work out. Grr. I tried waking up earlier, but DF did NOT like that, waking up to my alarm an hour earlier than he usually gets up. He was NOT impressed, haha.
Anyway, I have my WOTWL and my Pilates video and equipment. I dunno. I don't want to make a mistake and have to pay to renew my membership, but I feel like I'm not exercising as much as I could on days I don't go to the gym (even if I exercise that same evening!). Help .

Anyway. Got my floors scrubbed today, laundry is all done, and the Christmas decorations are out and ready to go. My house is tidy, and I feel good about that. Except one place. DFs computer desk. It's absolutely disgusting. And I asked him to have it cleaned up at some point today (it's in the living room), and he hasn't touched it. If anything, it's only gotten worse. I need to light a flame under that man's ***, I tell ya!

Hope everyone has a good night. Talk to y'all tomorrow!

  • good morning everyone off to work i just wanted to share a thought i read in one of the links someone on here posted the other day i think it was the american heart association that its not necessarily what we eat everyone slips up now and then its just that we dont work it off i think my goals for water and exercise is good for me then ill start counting calories or weight watchers once that goes in gear because right now i do very limited exercise and thats not good. Well everyone have a great day
  • gained a pound and a half I had a slip up on cookies and chips. Back on track today ...got to go wish me luck staying on track with sugar back in my body
  • God I need support already

I am so upset this morning. I am in a closed forum (not 3FC related) where we all had our 1st kids at the same time. Now we are having our seconds...although not at the same time. One of them was put on bedrest for up to 3 months. I wanted to give her an amazon gift, but thought what I could afford would be borderline useless, so I asked a few other girls for help to get a decent gift.

Now everyone else is pissed at me because they were "left out"

I barely slept last night (and as a new mom I cant afford that) and it did cost me my morning workout
  • Good morning hotties!! I'm ready to have a great day! Saw a little movement in the right direction yesterday, just working off the damage I did over the holiday so nothing to cheer about yet but at least I know I'm getting back to where I was. It's cold cold cold here!! Wind chills in the -20 brrr! I AM gonna workout today though, I think I'm gonna just either do my biggest loser dvd or my elliptical, this might be an excuse but I just cant see going to the gym getting sweaty then going into the frigid air when I can workout in the warmth of my own home. I need to pick up the water today too.

I'm sorry I'm gonna have to put personals off till this afternoon its already time to go and the car isnt warmed up!! Where did the morning get to?

I just wanted to say hi!! Wish you all tons of strong vibes to stick to your goals today no matter what life is throwing at you!! You deserve the payoffs for this journey!! And I know you can do it!! I'll check on you later!! Be good!!

    ~melissa
  • Well, I didn't end up getting to the store last night, and didn't eat dinner at all. Which is good on the one hand - low calories for the day - but still not healthy, so I'm kinda mad at myself. Sigh. Gonna go out and grab some stuff for breakfast before I start on the work that's due at my 10 AM class.
    ______

Melissa, I don't know how you survive in that kind of weather!! I'm from California where it's, if not warm, at least not THAT cold.

Ennay, I'm sorry people are being crappy to you. *hugs*

Mande, I think terminating your membership wouldn't be a bad idea - AS LONG AS YOU WORK OUT AT HOME. Don't use the no membership as an excuse to backslide, okay? But if you cannot get to the gym during their hours, what point to keeping a membership? Although on another note, I'm not too impressed with your DF. He doesn't seem to be supportive of you at all, either in cleaning the house or in supporting your weightloss. If *you* were okay with getting up earlier to make it to the gym, and *you* liked it, DO IT! He can go back to sleep.

    ------

Ah, the sun is up. Which means it's time for me to be out of the house. *sigh* one of these days I'll start getting enough sleep again. Really I will.
  • ennay- Aww don't let it get to you you did a wonderful thing..no one is stopping them from doing the same thing on their own. Enjoy that baby

HunEB- Burrrrr that is cold. I'm in Florida and complain when it's in the 50's and feeling like we are all going to freeze to death. Stay warm

    nikaia- get to that store

Hope everyone else is having a good day staying on track
  • Hi All!
Just me checkin in...Glad to see we are all back on track after the TG Holiday
Weekend! I picked up 2# but already have lost one of those so I am hoping it wont be too long till I am back to where I was. I have been trying to use mental imagery to help me along. I went through a box of photos I have and found an old one that looks like about how I'd like to be...So every time I have a craving or feel like I am going to lose it I just picture myself as in that photo. (kind of like self brainwashing) Sounds crazy I know but they actually do use that concept in health care for people that have alot of pain. Maybe we could all do that, why dont we all post a photo in our avitar on to remind ourselves of what our goal actually is! So that every time we get on the forum we will be more psyched on our goals...Just a thought what do you all think? I hope you dont think I am crazy.
  • Good morning ladies! Well It has been kind of a strange week for me. The last few days I was craving more food than normal! But I realized it is because I was ovulating! I complained to my dh last month about the same thing! When I ovulate or TOM comes I just want more food!
Sunday was my red meat and potato day. So alot of times that day is a higher one. I was planning for 6 oz of roast but wound up having 8 instead! I planned on 1 cup of potatoes and stuck with it but I really wanted 2! I did go ahead and had my corn on the cob, 2 pieces cause I bought that around the 5th and I keep seeing it in my freezer and I keep telling myself on a sunday etc! I also had, I'll just post all of it:

    Sunday

32 oz of coffee with 5 tbs of creamer

1 cup of lipton onion mix roasted potatoes

    8 oz of roast

1 serving of yoplait less sugar yogurt

1 huge whole wheat bagel with 1 tbs LF cream cheese

    1 slimfast Low carb shake

1 cup of cooked pinto beans

2 half ears of corn with ICBINB spray

    6 cups of popcorn

So 2191 calories. I would of rather kept it to 1800-1900 but oh well. I try to balance the line between overeating and depriving myself. (I am not saying cal wise cause I can usually do fine on 1700!) But I know when I get like that if I don't eat I will wind up binging on something really bad! My "maintenance" is 2225 anyways. Oh I also wanted to mention that is another great reason why I stick to red meat and potatoes pretty much once a week foir dinner cause I always want to overeat when I have those!!

Another reason I think I was getting bingy is cause I have not been having my fruit in the a.m.! I had to go to the store yesterday and get some! That makes a huge difference!

So monday was a little better:

1 serving of yoplait low sugar

32 oz of coffee with 5 tbs of creamer

1 huge whole wheat bagel with 1 tbs LF cream cheese

    1 slimfast Low carb shake

    1 serving of cashews

1 cup of cooked turkey breast

    1 cup of spanish rice

2 slices of ezekiel flourless sugarless bread!

    1 tbs of peanut butter

    1/2 a cup of corn

    6 cups of lowfat popcorn

So that wound up being 1877 cals. Sytill more than what I wanted for the day but still under maintenance.

Today I am back on track with the fruit so it will be a better day! I ate an apple and an orange for breakfast. I did get on the scale this a.m. cause I insisted on doing some "damage control". It still says 213.5! Same weight as sunday nite so that is cool! I was happy to see that. I did do my 60 minutes of walking yesterday and am planning on kicking butt today too. I have my fitday planned and am hoping to keep it to 1531 today to balance out the higher days. I also have to go to the dentist tonite so I am not looking forward to that but oh well.

I did want to highlight about the ezekiel bread I found. People are welcome to look at this link about whole wheat bread. I was very upset when i read it cause it feels like they are trying to take everything away from us!
    Whole wheat bread

This bread though, I heard about it thru the whole foods forum and it is flourless, sugarless, sodiumless! and even has potassium!!! It is also organic!!! It was only $2.59 for a 24 oz loave at Ralphs yesterday. I found it in the fresh section. Anyhow I tried it yesterday and had a tbs of peanut butter with it and really enjoyed it! I am going to have to try to wean myself away from these bagels I have been getting. They are 100% whole grain wheat and have 1 full days worth of whole grains. BUT they also have 270 cals for a full one, which actually does NOT bug me. What bugs me is that it has High fructose corn syrup listed as the 4th ingredient and per one huge bagel it has 8 grams of sugar! Now generally when you stick two other whole wheat slices together you get about 6 grams anyways but I think they might also be contributing to me getting bingy! I am thinking of just doing half of one a day. But not today!

Anyhow I will do persoanls later. I hope you are all doing well!!
  • Littleegg, that is so funny! Cause I was telling myself this morning that I wanted to tell the group for inspiration to go find pics of them when they were skinnier and to use them as motivation! I do that periodically! I find my pics when I was a 12, (I know still big for some ) and I pull them out! I know I can get down there again!!
  • Great idea littlegg
  • Hey Jasmine thanks for starting this thread. Back from Thanksgiving and lets just say I need all the support I can get. I didn't even weigh in this Monday because I am afraid of what the scale will say. So this weight is what I weighed in with last week.

    1. 154
    2. treadmill, elliptical, recumbent bike, weights
    3. Calorie Counting
