I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll have more reminders in my life of this ... but I am very grateful for the way that I was raised and for my parents being good people who put their children first and made every effort to give them everything they needed, if not wanted, and doing so with no budget to speak of.
I always had a happy birthday growing up, a bountiful Thanksgiving, and magical Christmas. Now that I am grown and they are very far away... I realize that I had more than I ever knew and lost more than I thought I could when they left. Ah, well, but this isn't a regretful and morose thread, now is it? *LOL*

At any rate, not everyone was as lucky as me, and I'm a little spoiled now and missing those days very much. I was a very blessed child, however ungrateful I was at the time.

Talking

I havent posted here for a while so I must be due.

AS alway I am grateful for my husband - for making the effort and for not being perfect (who wants to be with someone perfect that just accentuates our own flaws?)

For my parents - Ferret - I feel I was just as blessed - and at this moment feeling a tad guilty because I still have my parents and I moved 250 miles away from them - not because I don't appreciate them - but because we needed to get away from the city - for our sanity. So I am grateful that they are willing to make the drive to visit us and that they have a spare room for us to sleep in when we visit and that include 3 house dogs plus Dad makes a bed for the big dog in his patio. "The Grandkids"

For my job - I am sure I have mentioned it before - but I couldnt come close to the pay if I had to work away from home in my county let alone the convenience of being able to work from home.

For the dogs and the cats and the horses - unconditional love and hours of entertainment - plus the chickens lay eggs - we eat some, we sell some and I am current loading an incubator to hatch some. We are down to 9 hens thanks to racoons and so I need more layers and (WARNING: non vegan statement coming) we will being raising some freezer chickens over the winter.

Babbler off.

I've been neglecting this thread...naughty...not that I don't feel blessed everyday but it's relaxing to write it down daily...

well i'm thankful to be completely settled in my apt and my new job...thankful andy and i had a great date night last night...thankful for my family as always and of the potential my life with andy has and is obtaining...

i'm a lil frustrated because i know andy's not very optimistic about this job of his, but he's stickin with it until something better comes along...it could always be worse...or he could have no job at all...patience my dear ferret

I'm grateful for my current excellent health... my wonderful supportive husband who after years of being stuck in contract ****, finally has a permanant job that he loves.

I'm grateful for my awesome mom who goes to aquacize class with me 3 times a week, and invites me on bike rides. Both of my parents are too cool for words.

I hate to sound sappy but I am just so happy & grateful to be alive. I've started meditating a bit here & there & it's just amazing how much it makes you realize that the simple act of breathing is a miracle & something to be grateful over!

Elli, I'm really glad your other half is ok! That is so scary. I know how you feel. I would not say I'm exactly OCD but I am a pretty major worrier...it drives my family & friends nuts...I over-mother them. Anyways, my bf has a really dangerous job so I'm always worried if he is late coming home from work. Anyways, grateful, this thread is hard for me because I just have so much to be grateful for! Today I'll stick with being grateful that my bf is really sweet, open minded & appears to be really nuts about me

Boy, nothing makes you feel more grateful than going through your resume and letters of recommendation and compliments. I am putting together a little portfolio for interviews because I'm getting ready to move on from my current job and re-reading all those nice things people have said about me is really nice! Totally lifts my day.

Also, I will be really grateful if I get the job I'm applying for. More money and a more lax environment. I could use both! Worrying about things like - are my socks the right color and can this shirt show my tattoo is annoying. I'd like to just wear the clothes I have instead of the few outfits I've purchased specifically for this job.

I have a sun/moon tribal thing on my left shoulder, and a big red lizard on my left ankle.
The lizard is awesome I got it when i had just turned 18 and since I'm a Liz and was always called lizard and it's red and lizards are a fire sign animal and i'm a leo, etc etc. it was very suited to me. But because he's there, i can't exactly wear a skirt or capri pants without someone barking at me.
The moon/sun tat was a spur of the moment, night before i got married my maid of honor and i went out and got matching tats for the occasion. it was fun. i forget it's there though since i can't see it and sometimes i'll wear a sleeveless shirt that shows it. Tsk tsk, shame on me. *L*
I am ready for more though. Do you have any, Dawn?
