Default Constantly thirsty

Ok, This might seem like a weird question (there might be an obvious answer) But, I am going to ask it anyway. I know being constantly thirsty is a sign of diabetes/IR. However, is anyone else EXCESSIVELY thirsty? My IR is under control (I eat a balanced diet, i take cinnamon all of that, i normally can tell if my sugars are to high or too low because of my mood and i have become accustomed to recognizing the highs and lows even the small ones by how my body feels). Even with all of that, I am still excessively thirsty, like I can't drink water fast enough. I think I just drank 50 or 60 maybe 80 oz of water in an hr- hr and a half because I am just sooo thirsty, I can't keep up with it. Anyone else ever get like this?

I get like this when I'm dehydrated! It's hot out... needing lots of water is normal. Perhaps your body just didn't have the time to respond to the fact that you took so much in so quickly... I've heard that your body can only absorb 4 oz every 15 minutes no matter how much you drink... maybe this is different in different cases?

While it is a sign of IR/diabetes... it's also hot as heck out there this summer! Could be dehydration.

I know it is hot as h3ll out there, however i still don't see how you could feel so thirsty unless you are doing manual labor outside. If you are peeing a lot, and waking up in the middle of the night to pee, then definitely get your A1C levels check out.

I knew my husband was diabetic because he peed more than normal . For example, when we would go out to watch a movie, he would pee once before the movie started and once after the movie ends.. If he is drinking coke, he would have to go once in the middle of the movie. When I suggested he had diabetes, he dismissed me by saying that it was normal for him to pee so much because he drinks a lot of fluids. Sure enough, 10 months later he was diagnosed with diabetes after a pilonidal cyst got horribly infected.

That is the thing though. It isn't hot here. While the rest of the country is in a heat wave we well...we aren't its 65 MAYBE its FREEZING here..which is why I don't understand it. My sugars are fine. I know that much. It isn't diabetes. :\
