Yay...my books arrived. Deceptively simple...I'm eager to get started. I did my measurements...YIKES. Our local health food store has a 20% off sale storewide tomorrow. Lucky me!

I don't know all the details but he has another plan called the Fast Track which is more similar to a primal/paleo diet. I believe it's been in the works and in focus groups for months or a year and its release has been delayed. Maybe I'll just look harder into the paleo diet because I don't think Jorge is a guru or anything.

Up until last week I was eating turkey bacon pretty much daily (force of habit I guess) but now I've switched to real bacon and I'm so glad! I forgot how delicious it is!

ALL NEW BFC's--STOP RIGHT NOW--
Don't do anything else today until you measure yourself. It will be worth it in the months to come I promise!!

As many of you know I have been somewhat disappointed in the s l o w weightloss-- I have not seen anything like what Jorge wrote about.. 1 lb per week--with some weeks zippo-- but I have lost 19.5 lbs without suffering much so I keep at it... but again this weekend I pulled out a pair of jeans I literally could not pull over my thighs 4 months ago!! AND THEY FIT --not even tight!! I sooo wish I had done my measurements when I started because I think thats where things have dramatically changed.

Anyway do yourself a favor-- and write down your measurements!!

So...myfirst weigh in day with NO loss I know this happens but i dont like it. My eating did not change. I had no cheat days.

The one thing that did change this week was my exercise. Due to working a lot of OT at work I kind of slacked up on hitting the gym. I have read many posts on here stating you dont need to exercise on this plan, which sounds almost too good to be true.

So my question to all you experienced BFCer's is do YOU excercise on this plan? And if so, how much per week?

Thanks and still focused on moving forward!!!

FineysMom - For me, exercise doesn't seem to speed up or slow down the weight loss. I do Zumba 2-3 times a week and I am also doing a modified p90x. For the past 3 mondays (my normal weigh in day) I haven't lost anything. It is very frustrating. When I weigh mid week, I am down, but somehow come back up by Monday. I almost think my weight loss is better on the weeks I don't exercise as much??? I know there is another gal on here who exercises (zumba, too, I think) and it is really helping her weight loss. So, I don't know what to tell you. I really enjoy (at least that is what I tell myself) exercising, and I know it is good for me, so I will keep it up. I am sure that although the scale isn't moving in the direction I would like, my inches are shrinking. I was wearing 18-20s in January/February and for the first time in 14 years I am wearing a comfy 12!!!!! And that has been since my weight loss has stalled, so it is still coming off even if the scale isn't being nice. Keep with it. It is pretty easy to eat this way, compared to diets where you starve or have to count calories. It is also so good for avoiding diabetes. Good luck and hope this helped!

I am just getting the hang of BFC. It seems like a modified version of Atkins or South Beach. I watched this lecture yesterday and it does seem to reinforce getting rid of sugar (for all kinds of reasons) it is amazing how much more fructose we are eating compared to decades ago.
Thanks for sharing your stories on here, it keeps me going!
If anyone wants to see that lecture it is on youtube, called "sugar the bitter truth"

I exercise! I'm down 15 pounds in two months (with a goal of about 20 lbs), but I don't know the exercise really contributes to that - for me, my weight loss is always directly related to changing my eating. However, I have toned up quite a bit, and it def helps me to feel good, so i've been staying consistent at about 4x/week.

WHen you lose visceral fat, does it show up on the scale or measuring tape? because I have to say i dont feel a difference..but it can be because im crazy obsessed...i have to tell you though, i feel good...like, im not dieiting im just living my life, and if i do slip up, im ok with it because...ITS LIFE its here to be lived. i finally feel good about what im doing...but i just wish i would SHED as fast as jorge says I would but I dont...i mean sometimes i feel it in the back towards my waist but im also pmsing and im just out there right now LOL. i really need to measure myself....i will do it tonight...i really hope that even if the scale isnt going down the measuring tape will. I do feel like this is all visceral which, i know you dont notice right away...right?

Okay so I have been on the plan for about a week now and had actually gained 2LBS until today, I am back down 3LBS, the 2 I had gained then one...
I think the gain was water weight, I feel like I am eating a TON of sodium and my body is not used to it. I drink mass amounts of water any tips or advice?

I totally agree with TrishG I feel like I'm consuming more sodium an I have been feeling bloated and kinda gassy(a lot of burping) lately.

So I know this plan isn't about counting calories but I counted out of curiosity and found that I was eating less than 1100 I'm not going to bed hungry or anything but I have stalled on my weight loss I dropped about 7 pds but now I'm stuck at 178! For those BFCer's that have been on plan for a while can you give me menu ideas? I tried pushing my cals to 1200 but I will end up going over on either my sugars or carbs

Txalupa...give me an example of what you eat on an average day. 52 pounds down is a great accomplishment.
