Thanks SistaDiva2001 and Numero1latino!

I am trying to lose about 30 pounds. I have not been exercising but I will start. Jorge says you don't have to exercise for the diet to work but it sounds like a lot of people posting here do. I do spread my carbs throughout the day. The book says you should lose 4 - 9 pounds a week so my 5 pounds in 5 weeks is really slow! I really appreciate the tips and support!

You are welcome.

Could you post a typical day's menu for yourself?

Hi everyone - thanks for all the good information!

I am still on my 1st week for this eating plan. Started last Thur & so far,
have pretty much stayed on track. My w/i day is Wed so hopefully will drop a few pounds. Since I was already following another plan, I don't expect a drastic drop at the scales. I think people who have huge losses were ones that we not already on some kind of plan.

Anyway,good luck.

I've been doing the Belly Fat Cure since 1/4 and I've lost 9 lbs., which is 2nd most I've lost in 5.5 years. I fell off the wagon at a Superbowl Party and gained 2.5 lbs. overnight - my stomach immediately felt bloated and disgusting. I've been trying to get back with the program but it's soooo hard all of a sudden. It was fine when I ddin't have non BFC food in my house and now that I do, I'm losing willpower quickly!

I track my food on Sparkpeople.com and that counts the carbs for me, unfortunately, it doesn't track sugar, which is a problem - does anyone know if the Lose It iPhone app tracks sugar?

Dont worry jki. We are all people and I wouldn't even consider it falling off the wagon and sometimes we just want to enjoy ourselves. I have done it with beer, gosh I love beer, and just keep moving forward afterward. Just try to stay focused and move on. I just downloaded a new app, I think it was called IFitness or something but it is for tracking calories. I really just wanted something to track my weight daily even though my wife says I shouldn't be checking everyday (I guess I shouldn't)

I did the Fit Test for the Insanity work out today and it killed me. I can only imagine what the real work outs are going to be like but at least it will motivate me to be a bit more active

Hey Numero1latino - the actual Insanity workouts are...INSANE!!! Enjoy, they're fun and unlike P90X, u don't need all them gimmiks, just the TV and your body! Enjoy!
Today is day 11, and I am down 6 lbs, so thats good. It's just the boost I needed, I couldn't get back on track after Christmas/New Years at all...I also quit smoking and I'm pretty sure that was what my 5 lb gain was from, but now its gone again! yay!! Anyhoo, I am loving the BFC, my energy level is high and I like little carbs, except I really do miss alot of the fruits I was used to eating and I even find myself picky with certain vegetables because I'd rather a slice of ezekial than 14 carrot sticks...is that so wrong?! lol. I also exercise vigorusly for 60 minutes 6 days a week so I don't know if that will do anything to effect my results or not?!

Thanks for the welcome SistaDiva.

Today was Day One and considering I made the decision to start late last night, I did alright. I ended the day with a S/C value of 10/8. I didn't have much BFC-friendly foods in the house but I got to the grocery store tonight. I should be able to get those carb servings down to 6 or less.

No exercise today as I'm still dealing with neck spasms so no exercise until this pain subsides.

Went to trader joes today to get some bread and more stevia and I found some dark chocolate that has no added sugar. It does contain some malititol however according to the book this should be ok. One serving has a SC of 0/1. I got the almond one and it tasted good to me and finally can have a sweet snack without feeling bad. The book does say it can cause bloating but I am sure that is if you eat it in excess. I also picked up some almond butter to change things up a bit as well as some whole grain waffles. The waffles have more sugar than I would want but 5g for 2 waffles seems to be ok considering I am eating virtually no sugar.

I also rocked out the INSANITY again today and it sure does kick your butt. I am going to keep with it. If I get under 190 by the end of the month I think I will throw a party or something..

So, guys I started yesterday - so far, so good. I can't believe how easy this diet seems to be so far. I am very satisfied by the food:
B - 1 slice Ezekial bread, 2 oz ham, 1 slice swiss, spicy mustard
S - string cheese, lemon ginger tea
L - pita pizza on 1/2 pita with pizza sauce, italian sausage, turkey pepperoni and part skim mozzarella
S - 5 saltines, small amount pate with mushrooms, unsweetened ginger tea
D - 2 chicken tacos on corn tortillas with 2% cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, 5 oz wine
I did go out and splurge on Nature's Hollow BBQ sauce, Heinz ketchup (couldn't find the other), Ezekial bread/buns/tortillas, Annie's Naturals ****ake & Sesame vinaigrette, Trader Joe's marinara sauce, almond butter with flaxseeds, and the 85% organic dark chocolate. I think that in general, I can do this w/o spending too much extra money - though I ordered 3 flavors Nature's Hollow preserves, xylitol, and "tastes like honey" today online for $30.
I will weigh myself at the end of the week and let you guys know how I am doing. I have rallied some friends to join me too! I look forward to our chats...

Yes, the Iphone app can be set to count sugars as well as carbs. The food list could be bigger but you can add any foods to the list.

Default Elimination Station

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to this site and this plan.
It's day 5 for me and I'm down 1.4 pounds so far.
I thought I would've lost more (just going by other forums and stuff), but the plan seems way too easy to lose so much, so fast. I feel like I'm not even dieting, so I'm happy with a loss of anything.

Is anyone drinking that psyllium husk and probiotic drink recipe in the book? Does it help? I feel like I'm not eliminating as often as I should be.

Thanks y'all.
T.

If you feel like you are not eliminating enough, make sure you are drinking lots of water..I average about 140 ounces a day minimally.

Make sure you are using HIGH FIBER bread products..I mainly use low carb tortillas and the fiber count on the brand I am using is 13 grams per tortilla. I started out with Ezekiel bread products, but I just prefer the tortillas for sandwiches and Stop and Shop has "ligth" whole wheat hot dog buns/hamburger that are 18 carbs, 10 fiber ( I think) and they are good and cheaper. I get them 2 for $4.00. Also, I use spinach on my sandwiches instead of lettuce.

I have only used the Physllium once or twice.

Chia seeds are also very good. I just started using them again last night. I bought them before the holidays but just got off track using them daily. Best thing about them is they don't have any taste. You can mix them in most foods- it doesn't change the taste. I just drink mine with water.

Hi All!!
Sounds like everyone is doing great and staying on track for the most part! As I said to my hubby if you "fall off the wagon" now and again it's still got to be better than eating all that sugar etc. every day like you were before!

Anyways I've just been maintaining - was on a super calorie reduced low carb diet before I started BFC... in the last week we have had a birthday party for my son (he turned 1) and I have just started back to work this week as well as starting a new work out program!! So lots of "new" things... my goal is to be more strict with my eating this weekend and going foward!! so hopefully some more pounds will drop!!

Great to hear how everyone is progressing - keep up the good work!
