Hi everyone. Happy Monday.

I hope everyone has a good week. It is really cold here today. We are supposed to get a hard frost this evening, but by the weekend it is supposed to be in the 70's. Way to crazy....I was outside last night covering all of my flowers.....My kids were looking at me like I was crazy. I had all kinds of sheets and blankets all over the front yard. I guess it did look kind of funny.

Faerie - I love the hat and shirt. I should have done something like that, maybe next time.

I have a question about being in your forties or older.....I am losing weight, but it seems to all be coming off my rearend and legs, my belly and rib cage it isnt coming off - maybe a very small amount. My hubby thinks its because I had a hysterectomy and its the hormone thing. Do you think that is true? It used to be my rear was big and my belly was smaller. I'm not complaining...Its coming off, but its kind of weird. I know our bodies do strange things. I'll never fully understand. it.

I need to get back to work. Have a great day.

Dawn - My soon to be MIL would be covering her flowers & bringing in her plants, so it's not that crazy About the weight loss, the last place I put on my weight was my stomach, but it also seems to be the last place that's coming off. My hips, thighs & butt are seeming to be the first to be going away. It could be that the majority of my exercise is walking, though. In the end, our bodies lose it where they want to ... silly bodies!

I am, again, way behind on posts! I wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone, and to wish Suite good luck this week because you are so close to Onederland! I'm sure you'll make it! You have done so well so far. I am immensely impressed by your dedication (mine has been wavering a bit since the cruise, gotta get back on it now that I'm back in the UK!).

Have a great week everybody! I'll try to stop in more often!

Aww, thanks Faerie I miss you guys too! Even if I wasn't replying to your messages, I was here most days reading the new posts.

I went back and read over a lot of the posts in this thread and have to say, I am a huge tea drinker. I love all sorts of tea. I would highly recommend to the people that want to be tea drinkers but are having trouble finding one that works for you, see if there is a little tea place somewhere near your house and go for a visit. Not only can you really see the wide variety available (more than just green, Early Grey, etc) but a lot have really soothing and tasty flavours. I had one the other day that was called Bourbon St. Vanilla and it was deeeelish with just a hint of vanilla flavouring. One of my favourites is called Rainbow, and it's a Rooiboos (not sure I spelled that right) tea, and the other two I really like are Ginger Peach and Cherry Almond. Tea doesn't have to be boring and it doesn't have to have milk/cream and sugar in it necessarily either (though I hear you about some tea needing the sugar because of the bitterness). So, my advice, if you can find somewhere where you can taste-test some different types of tea (black, green, infused tea, etc) give it a shot. I'm sure you'll find something you'll really like! At the little place near my house they have something like 50 different kinds of tea. The only real problem you'll have then is choosing which ones to buy and try!

Hey Dawn, hormones could be part of it. You could do some reading about online about DHEA and how it decreases in our bodies as we age. The two main adrenal hormones in your body are cortisol and DHEA. In general, cortisol indicates how much stress the body has going on and DHEA indicates how the body is adapting to that stress. Hormone levels can have a correlation to belly fat storage.

You can get tested to see what your hormone makeup is currently. Saliva tests are really easy to do. It is helpful to have a good doctor who can assist you to interpret your results but you can do alot on your own. Anyway, our hormone levels and balance do affect our metabolism esp. for those of us over 40 as things are a changin'! Your DH might be onto something, however, I'm of the opinion if what you're already doing is working its good to see how that goes for awhile. But, FWIW, it could be something to consider or read about. In any case, its great that the weight IS coming off! Hooray for that!

Faerie: your hat and shirt are adorable!

Well, as for me, I am in my third week on the wendie plan and I still haven't lost any weight. It's thoroughly depressing me, so I have taken my scale out of the bathroom! I went and hid it under my desk so I will not be tempted to weight myself. I will weigh myself on Saturday morning at the earliest. Otherwise, I might even weight a couple weeks.

So I have decided that I am only going to eat the extra wendie plan points if I work out that day. So for example, tomorrow I am suppossed to eat 2 points over my base target. But if I don't work out then I am only going to eat my base target. Does that make sense? and does it sound like it might work?

Manick - Thanks for the info. I will definitely read up on it. I agree, I think I will wait awhile to see what does eventually happen.

Vday - Are you eating all of your fruits, veggies, milk, etc? I know looking back on the week I had a gain, I thought I had followed the plan exactly, but was short on veggies, by alot. Just something to look at.

Hi Freedom, Suite, Faerie, Staja, Institches, Tenda, Kelijpa(hope I didnt miss anyone, if so, sorry)

Does anyone watch biggest loser? I am a huge fan. I am hoping one of the two girls win. I really dont want Mark.

Have a great Tuesday.

Good Tuesday Mornin' Flexers!

Freedom - A tea shop sounds really awesome.

Manick -

Vday - Thanks! That sounds like a good plan you're going to try. Afterall, we all need to modify our plans so they work for us. Do check and see that you're getting in your 8 GHG as well!

Dawn - I've never watched the show, though I've heard it can be very motivational!

---

I felt very sick last night, so I decided to take some of my own advice and go home to sleep for a little while. I zonked out for quite a bit, and am feeling much better this morning. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't work out yesterday, but I feel it was much more important that I feel healthy enough to do so. So. Back into normal mode today, and going to treadmill this afternoon as usual.

Feeling a little overwhelmed lately with having to move next month, having to get things ready for India in July, and the wedding in October. *sigh* That's life though, isn't it? Constantly stuff to do!

I hope you all have really good Tuesdays

Good morning
It feels really good that I finished that presentation, but you know, I have another one tonight. This semester has been surprisingly heavy! So only a quick check in this morning...
I have had a head cold and haven't worked out between that and lack of time. Last time I was at the gym was Thursday. I really want to make the time for a jog today, but I'm still fighting a cold (it has moved to my chest now, and makes my voice sound oh-so-sexy until I start hacking). I guess I'll just give it a shot. It is gorgeous out. If I have the time, then I'll be jogging.

AND, I stepped on the scale today (my WI was yesterday but I caved to the temptation of a WI today -- Faerie, don't tell on me at the NSV challenge!) and it says I'm down to 134.5! That's from 136.5 yesterday! Maybe I was holding on to water weight? Yesterday was a very average day, foodwise...I think i'll change my official weight to 135. I would really like to go in to Passover below my mini goal, it might be extra motivation to stay on plan. I'm not usually so obsessive about the numbers, but it feels different since it's the difference between "overweight" and "average," and it's the goal I set for myself...

Thanks for listening to my rant of a confession!
Good luck to all today. I'll be working on a paper, so I'm sure I'll be checking in plenty!

S

Hi All! Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Work is kicking my butt right now (and unfortunately not in a healthy, good-for-my-body sort of way). I'm still holding at 200. I don't know what is going on. I have been stuck here for almost a month. argh.

I hope to be able to chat a bit more later. I apologize for the short non-update, but I just wanted to say hi!
