I was worried that I was losing too slow. However I'm averaging 2.8 lbs lost per week. The girls at the center were not concerned for me at all. That makes me feel better. We talked about increasing my B6 and adding some fiber. I believe I'm on days 29 12.5 lbs lost total. I'm so grateful I took the chance on MRC. I was a bit scepticle at first but I'm a true believer now. As long as you follow the plan you lose the weight. I'm on the road to getting my life back instead of just complaining about it.

boxer lady 04-23-2011 03:53 PM

Oh....forgot to mention that I will be starting Meta Quick on Monday. Has anyone ever done this and if so how did you do? I'm a bit worried about the shakes. I hope they don't affect by stomach like Slim Fast does.

Today has been a slow day. We had some bad thunderstorms move through last night but then this morning was really bad. Nothing like having hail beating on your window at 6:30am on a Saturday morning.

I made MRC Key Lime Pie last night and had a piece of that for breakfast. Then around 9am, curled back into bed and ended up taking a nap until 11:15am! I hardly ever do that but I guess I needed it. So now I've been trying to catch up with my water intake and crafting. I'm hoping to do an Arts & Crafts fair in a couple weeks. I know I should go to the gym but I'm really into my sewing today. I think I'll do the Wii a little later tonight.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

teacherlady79 04-23-2011 06:03 PM

Razorbackbritt -- you look fantastic in the bridesmaid dress at the end of your collage-- and the whole collage only emphasizes how far you've come!

I Weighed in this morning and was pleased to have stayed exactly the same! :) I usually stay the same after a pretty good loss anyway (and I lost 3.5 and 2lbs on my last two weigh ins), but I was most worried about this week from being sick--which caused me to not exercise most of the week, not take my phentatrim (on too many other meds right now), and eat completely off plan one day (due to nausea from the meds). I was mostly worried about showing a gain, because I just hit my 61 lb milestone on Tuesday--I didn't want to slide backward again so soon! :^:

Luckily, I don't have to deal with food too much tomorrow. My sister is working, so my family isn't doing anything; the in-laws went to Indiana to visit family, so we're not doing anything with them. I just have to get through mass and the church potluck tomorrow (we go to a very, very small Orthodox church, and our parish is tiny--so we do a potluck after mass most Sundays).

Went to Dress Barn today to find a dress for a wedding (one of hubby's cousins) at the end of May-- everything on the Plus Size side was too big--I had to look in Misses!!!! FIRST TIME IN YEARS! And I actually found two really cute dresses that I couldn't decide between (one was perfect for spring and could be worn to work, the other was a little dressier); hubby told me to just get them both, since I've hardly spent any money on clothes lately, and he said I deserve a chance to show off my new figure in a couple cute dresses. :)

I couldn't even believe how normal-sized I looked! AND both dresses came with a skinny, patent-leather belt. Do you know how long it's been since I've been able to wear a belt and not look huge???

I'm going to try them on tomorrow for my sister to see, so I'll have her take pictures and I'll post them here for you all to help me decide which dress I should wear to the wedding. :)

I have done Meta Quick many times when I was stalled..I cannot tolerate the shakes so did bar in morning, bar for lunch and a regular meal at night.
When you do the shake in afternoon, you don't take the HNS, but where I did bars only I had to add HNS. Hope that makes sense, and yes it did work. It would take me out of a stall and I would lose. You are not losing too slow, you are losing at a good weight... Good luck to you.

Glad to hear that lost what you gained Mariah, that always is uplifting.

Teacher Lady...
How grand you are in Misses sizes now and it is wonderful that your husband is so supportive on how grand you look. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Congrats on your 61pound milestone.. That is fantastic and I know how
pleased you are.

New to the thread

Hi everyone, I am new to the thread but not to MRC. I have been stalking your thread for about a week and felt you all would be great motivators. Hope you don't mind me joining in.

I lost 45 lb a couple of years ago but sadly I gained it back and then some...:o I know now that part of the problem was I did not do stabilization or maintenance after losing the weight (I quit before I reached my goal). I can say that this is the only diet that works for me and I am determined to reach goal and keep the weight off this time. Plus, my sister is doing the plan also and it is very helpful to have a partner in crime  I have been back on the plan for almost 2 weeks and so far I've lost 13 lbs.

Congrats to all of you...your doing great. :carrot: I remember how good it felt to get under 200 lbs and to be able to wear misses clothes. Can't wait to be there again!

This sounds like a fun shopping trip and very different from my own. I went everywhere and did not find anything that I liked, but am excited that this fall I should be able to have more options!

Your hubbie sounds like a sweetheart!

I was wondering, have you bought smaller clothes lately? Sometimes it is hard to see a big weight loss if the clothes are baggy. Regardless, you are doing fantastic! :cp:

Well everyone, I am back from a week away from the computer. It took me quite a while to catch up reading the posts but it sounded like everyone had a pretty good week.

I was on a week long vacation and am embarrassed to say that I was not OP. But it was a decision I made and I will take whatever comes of it and move on. I am actually scared to weigh in this week!

P.S. I added a picture from the vacation this week.

Junie04 04-23-2011 11:05 PM

For those who haven't had anyone notice their losses yet, it seems that no one noticed my loss for a while either and then BAM, everyone noticed. It almost seemed overnight too! So, just keep it up and you will be surprised one day about all the compliments!

It's so stinkin' obnoxious that clothing sizes are not as standardized as (in my opinion) they should be. I mean, one designer's 14 is another designer's 10. So, I found this adorable Easter dress, but I didn't think it would fit because it was a size 14 (my starting size). But, it fit perfectly. I love the dress, but mentally it's very discouraging to be wearing a dress that should be a size too big.

So, Calvin Klein, you're a turd. You make great clothes, but your sizes are cruel.

Rzrbackcandi 04-24-2011 09:49 AM

I'm planning out my day.. I was going to cook a turkey to take over for our family Easter gathering but I've decided to just do a couple chicken breasts. I still bought a turkey and plan on putting it in the crock pot in a few minutes.. after all, a girl has to eat dinner :o

For my fruit serving, at lunch, I made sugar free strawberry jello with strawberries. I'm also going to take over chocolate pudding HNS in case I feel the urge to "snack". My veggie is going to be spaghetti squash.

So.. I'm hoping with all that.. I can stay away from the Ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, chips & dips, cupcakes, brownies & everything else.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi..
I love your happy easter at end of your message... I hope you did well today.
I was out breakfast and lunch, and there were not any good options at all. I did take my bars and had one at breakfast and one at lunch, so tonight I am home and will eat OP. You did great taking the food with you.. I should have done the same.

Hey Patzi..

I did very well.. even when I tore off a piece of ham to throw to their dogs, I didn't even lick my fingers. I went straight to the sink and washed my hands. But I received several compliments from my sister-in-laws family. They were extremely proud of my food decisions. I had chicken, salad that my mom made with spinach, romaine, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers and mushrooms .. I took my ranch salad spritzer and then while everyone was enjoying coconut cake & strawberry shortcake.. I had my strawberries & jello. I was SO full. I didn't even eat the chocolate pudding HNS but I did have my HNS Kiwi Melon drink. My sister-in-law was sitting next to me with a plate full of ham, baked beans and potato salad and she said she felt bad for me.. I said.. don't feel bad for me, I'm just fine.. I feel bad for you guys :D It wasn't until they had stuffed themselves and everyone fell asleep.. I sat there full of energy and feeling great about myself and my choices.

Anyway - the turkey in the crock pot smells amazing! I'm not even hungry but I know I have to eat.

Hope you enjoy your OP meal for dinner.

Missed last 3 weigh in's

So, I have been a little off plan the last week and a half. Life has been hectic, I have missed my weigh in's and have not been logging my food. Sooo my question is, when I go into my center, if I have missed and do not have food sheets, are they going to try to make me re sign up??:o

No, it should be fine, unless your contracted number of weeks are up. Otherwise, they'll just give you new log sheets and help you get back "on the wagon."

pnvomaha 04-24-2011 11:29 PM

I went to weigh in yesterday morning, and I lost a pound. I'm very happy about that since I'd lost 3 lbs the weigh in before. I'm now at 40.5 lbs down. I hope by next weigh-in it will be another 2-3 lbs. I'm going to work my hardest on that.

Great job today! I think planning the meals in advance makes all the difference. I thought it was pretty funny you told your sister-in-law you felt bad for her :D.
I did pretty good today too. Yesterday was really hard making the easter baskets and not eating one single piece of chocalate...But I did it!!! I also made rice krispie treats for a party today and did not lick my fingers or the spoon one single time :p I did however make the amazing cheesecake for my dessert for the party...but I only ate 1/2 a serving. I didn't feel deprived at all while everyone else ate their strawberry shortcake and rice krispie treats.
Hope everyone loses at next WI!

YAH! So happy you made good decisions!
My sister-in-law kinda looked at me funny when I said that but they were all so miserable and sprawled out on the couches and floor. I just shook my head and was so thankful to not be like that.

Razorbackbritt 04-25-2011 11:42 AM

I am finally back home after what felt like a loooong weekend at my parents. I did ok with food choices. My mom doesn't seem to grasp what is ok on program...and just didn't have what I asked her for. I asked her for some frozen veggies and fruit so I could eat that with whatever meat we would be eating all weekend (which was BBQ brisket for dinner Sat and roast on Sunday). But she got canned green beans and canned mandarin oranges for me to eat....so I did what I could with that.

She barely cooks at home (and when she does, its hamburger helper or frozen meals) so she had no other options for me. I'm feeling bloated, but I'm guzzling water today and will hope for the best at weigh in tomorrow!

Congrats on making it through the day! You must feel so empowered!

Congrats! As long as the numbers are moving in the right direction, it's a good day in my book. ;)

Well, I weighed in today, but I'm not counting it. So I more accurate record of my weight loss, I always weigh in wearing the same outfit so I know that the loss is due to me, and not the different clothes I'm wearing. Of course, I left my outfit home today. :( Instead, I had to weigh in wearing jeans. Oh well. It'll make it look that much better on Wednesday, I guess.

I also decided to do the Meta-Quick diet for the next week, except for Thursday since that's my wedding anniversary. When I was MRC before, I'd do it every 6-8 weeks to give my body a boost. Hope this works again.

Yes... I've noticed that with mine, too. Only a few noticed along the way, but right when I hit around 30-35 lbs is when everyone seemed to notice more... definitely feels good.
