I've gotten off track over the past couple of months due to some family issues I've been dealing with. My stress-eating hasn't helped me maintain my (4 pounds from goal weight) weight and now I'm up about 15 lbs. I know that several of those lbs are water weight and I'm anxious to make it through this first week totally back on plan so I can then survey the true damage I've done. Making my declaration to everyone on the MRC board that I'm recommitting myself to the diet and to my health will hopefully help keep me accountable! Best wishes to all of us out there working hard to reach our goal!

Good job for stopping back by...you will be able to knock off those pounds in a few weeks. I know how we all could use the support and encouragement from one another. It seems these last number of pounds are a struggle for a number of us. Take one day at a time and soon you will have a week of success all tied together. One step at a time.

Thanks so much and congrats on your success...you are so close to goal!

Goose welcome back and I am with you all the way...having gained back some weight too I am back on track, but it is always a struggle...I have just started watching Ruby if anyone has ever watched her program it is truly eye opening watching her weight loss journey and quite in depth discussions about food addictions and emotional eating etc...

I have heard about Ruby and her show, but I don't think I get the channel it comes on. Glad to hear you are back on track, too! Your commitment to running is fantastic. Have you always been an athlete or did you start running when you began MRC? Exercise is definitely something I struggle with.

Thank you for the compliment...I ran on the track team in high school some 32 years ago and that is about it...I started running after losing my first 20lbs on MRC...and went into it very slowly using the C25K program...and I too struggle with exercise but I know without it I can easily go back to my "old" ways and it provides structure for me...
Hey Goose, you can do it! I am back on track and am going to lose what I can by the 12th of May.. I already told them I would not resign so looks like I had better do what I got to do.. We are all here right with you..
I wanted to share this statement as it helps me get through this journey...
"Understand that weight loss comes in steps. I always tell my patients to set their goal at losing 10 pounds, even if they have several hundred pounds to lose. Saying one is going to lose 300 pounds is like leaning over the top of the Empire State building and looking straight down. It can be a dizzying and sometimes frightening experience. On the other hand, if you take the stairs, you can't see the bottom—only the few steps that are ahead. With weight loss, we take a few steps at a time. When we make the first goal of 10 pounds, then we can tackle the next 10 pounds and so on. Every 10 pounds is a major accomplishment, and with every 10 pounds comes better health, no matter what your starting weight."

I only lost half of the 71 lbs that I was suppose to lose while signed up with MRC (my fault - no one else's). I have been maintaining at about 35 lbs lost up until this week, up 6 lbs. I was determined to lose the other 35 lbs without MRC, but don't have the determination I once had. Trying over starting today.
You can always start over.. You just make the decision to go with it, then do it! It is not like we are lost to weight loss forever if the stumble along the way. Every day is new day and another opportunity to make things right again.. There are always do overs

I lost 60lbs of the 75 to my goal...I took a break in December from MRC and began training for my first half-marathon gained 12lbs during training after the race I began again to lose the last 20+ on my own at my speed and it is working...some weeks I have dropped 7 pounds then I will not lose for 3 weeks then have another big loss...Some weeks I just decide to maintain as I deal with stressful issues...this way I am in control of my goal on my time...I know I will get to my goal maybe not on MRC's calendar but on mine. Good luck, you can do it!
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement! It really helps to know I'm not in this alone. Today marks Day 2 of being completely and totally on plan...I haven't been able to say that in awhile and it sure feels good!
