Good Day All!!
I signed up for MRC on Friday - I started the pre-conditioning this morning and already had an obstacle. I woke up early to make breakfast (something I dont eat) and had an issue at home that did not allow me time to make breakfast or pack my lunch.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get in the swing and prepare myself for what is ahead??

Hello and welcome! I am not on the MRC plan, but am sure you will get plenty of advice from people here that are on the plan.
I wish you the best on your weight loss journey!
Cheers,
J

You have to be a member a certain number of days (I can't remember exactly how many days, but it isn't much...around 20 days I think) and have made at least 20 posts, which is easy to do. My understanding is that the day/number of post requirement weeds out the spammers.
I look forward to seeing your ticker when you get it!
Cheers,
J

Pghgal23,
Welcome aboard! I find that I have to do a lot of preplanning and prep work to make this plan work for me. I plan my menu out a week in advance (yes including breakfast, lunch and dinner). If I know I will have a particularly hectic day I will try to get everything packed and ready the night before. I always have some eggs boiled up in the fridge I can grab on the run in case of "emergency" moments. Lunches are usually prepared the night before after the kids go to bed and if I get a chance while I'm home for lunch I try to prep some of my dinner then (chopping and such). Once you get in the swing of things it will fall into your routine, but changing your routine can be overwhelming too - just take it one day at a time.
As for your ticker - you have to be a member for 20 days and have so many posts before you will see it show up in your signature page.

I start the MRC plan this Thursday...I have read other posts where people are getting the "drinks" from other sites instead of paying the 7 packets for $12. Are they the exact same thing? Do you get the same results? My Sister wants to do the plan with me, but not have the upfront fees so I was hoping she could get the supplements and drinks from another website/vendor. What do you think? If I get double the amount all the time will I get into trouble? Is there a discount for signing family up?

Hard boiled eggs is a great idea. My hubby always buys the blocks of cheddar and cuts it into 1 oz portions as soon as we get it. (If you buy and 8 oz block, cut it in half, and then in half again, and again. You will have 1 oz portions.) We store it in a ziplock bag in the fridge for easy grab-n-go moments. I also carry a packet of HNS in my purse in case I get stuck out. I usually carry a meal replacement bar too, but have only used that once. I always cook up extra chicken and often times measure it out into 4 oz portions. Over time it will all fall into place, don't worry!

I just joined last week. I am on pre-conditioning now and will get my food plan on friday. Because of some stomach issues I am on the "Balanced" program. Has anyone done this one?

Okay so I was not expecting this to be as hard as it is ... plus, I have never realized how busy my life was until I stepped back and saw what I was doing to my body through food. I am always on the go and have not been able to start the preconditioning like I was supposed to . Tonight I am breaking down the meals and packing everything separate.

Pghgal23...I found this to be true in my life also...so I reevaluated all that I was spending my time when I was 'on the go'. I have made changes and now I get alot more quality family time with my husband and children. I had my kids in everything under the sun (girlscouts, gymnasticsa, dance, piano, etc.) So we sat down one night and they thought the same. We were always together but they really wanted just time with me at home. Amazing!

My goodness... I don't even have kids, I couldn't imagine. I just need to learn to live for me and understand that I will not get healthy if I put everyone first.

You know what? Sometimes life just gets in the way. If you stress about not getting your lunch packed one day out of the countless many that you'll have over your lifetime you won't lose weight as quickly anyway because stress slows down weight loss.
I agree that hard boiled eggs and cut up blocks of cheese are great time savers. I do both of those as well. You can also prep alot of things ahead of time like the chicken someone mentioned.
Early in my plan I eat more fresh veggies because they are more filling. I prepare those ahead of time too. Cutting them how I want and peeling if need be. That way all i have to do is weigh it out.
If you have another day that just doesn't go your way and you find yourself without meal bars (which you can only do twice weekly anyway) learn some good options from local restraunts that you can pick up easily. It might not be the best option, but it's better than nothing. I know that I can always swing by Wendy's and get a plain chicken sandwich, a couple side salads ($1 each) and some apples or oranges, whichever they have. The chicken is probably not exactly the right weight and probably isn't prepared wonderfully, the salad dressing isn't the best either (go easy on it...I like their oriental dressing, but it's WAY off plan...just use a touch of it) and the oranges aren't fresh, they're canned...but it's way way better than another emergency option.
Figure out a couple fall backs. MRC is geared to be specific while we lose, but for me it's also about learning to make better choices. I try not to eat off plan, but if I do it every once in a while and make the best choices I can, I feel good about it.

Thanks everyone!! Stress is definitely something I need to nip in the butt quickly if I want this to work! Im having guy troubles and of course today when I get some news the first thing I did was open my old "snack drawer" at work. I am such an emotional eater. Thank goodness there is nothing in the drawer and opted for a glass of water.

Good for you for planning ahead and emptying that snack drawer. Opting for the glass of water was a great choice! I'm an emotional eater too! I am a fast food junkie, I hate cooking but I did manage to be successful on this plan back in 2008. (But, I only thought of this plan as once I get to goal I can start introducing my favorite foods again.......I'm going to learn from that mistake this time) Anyhow, it was amazing that working & having a husband and 2 kids I cooked and prepared all my meals and actually had extra time! Some helpful tips: Have a box of the meal bars on hand (very tasty, and as mentioned before only can have 2 days per week). Also I like to have a scrambled egg w/ cheese on my toast. Some mornings I couldn't do it in the pan so I scrambled the egg w/ cheese and put in microwave for a minute. And ofcourse pop the toast in the toaster while that is cooking. Also, this is something that was told to me........"If you want something bad enough, you will make it happen" I think these words are great and very true! Keep asking questions and get ideas on here you'll do great. It will all work out if you want it to!!
