I chose to try and stay on plan through my trials. It was helpful to me since there was so much I could not control, the plan gave me a way to control what I was eating. I chose to put my life and health first. I used this as a way to change not only my eating habits but my thinking and coping habits. But that was my choice. You can achieve whatever you set out to do. Sometimes the goal is simply survival. You just do what is best for you. Sending hugs :hug::hug:, Please stay online so we can support you as best we can. |

Good for you to get right back on track! |
Jace1234 - I am so sorry for your loss and for all the other stuff going on that's causing stress. When I get super stressed-out I tend to crave carbs. Once I eat them, I feel emotionally satisfied but they don't taste good (like they used to) and I feel "icky". Carb craving has to do with serotonin levels in the brain, but the intellectual side of me doesn't care when the emotional takes over. The center recommends Guggul for carb cravings, and Sam-e and St. John's wart are natural serotonin boosters (available at any drugstore). I haven't found the Guggul helpful, but everyone is different. Exercise boosts endorphins too. Journaling works for me. Just remember to treat yourself with kindness and care (plenty of sleep, staying OP, seeking support), and you will get through this.

Rough night - I'm working an overnight shift to fill in for someone on vacation. There's a huge tub of red licorice and some chocolate chip cookies on the desk, and leftover pizza in the kitchen. I brought a hard boiled egg, some veggies, and a couple of HNS to get me through the night, but those cookies are calling me!! So far, so good - only about 3 hours to go.
Taking my dad out for Father's Day - he chose Olive Garden. Last year, we had him over for brunch at our house but we've recently moved and we're not ready for company. I'm planning on having the salad and mussels. Hoping I can avoid the temptation (again!)! |

I found this great quote the other day and thought I would share it with you as food for thought.
"It is never too late to be what you might have been." --George Eliot I wrote this in my journal the other day...I can do this...I will do this...I have to do this. |
Thanks for the MRC6 help

Update
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a great weekend... dla - welcome back, missed you, hope camp was alot of fun :0) I went for WI today and was happy to be down 2 more lbs for a total of 39.5 lbs, SOOOOOO close to the 40 lb board but it was not to be mine today. I would love to lose 6 more by the end of June but I'm still happy with my progress. The consultant did my measurements as well and I have lost a total of 39.25 inches, WOW!! We did the Tanita and I have only lost 1 lb of muscle mass since the beginning, interesting, I would have thought I would gain muscle with the workouts I have been getting. I can feel the muscles becomeing firmer, oh well - The Tanita is a bit of a mystery anyhow... I'm sure this is no surprise to anyone but Holy Cow it is blistering hot here right now, high 90's to 102 today, Heat Index 105... ughhh... I am seriously trying to avoid the heat as much as possible so I went for an early morning run (rather than late afternoon) today. I am currently on week 5 of the C25K program and hanging in there. I have set a goal to run a 5k in Ellijay, GA this fall in October, the 1st weekend of the Ellijay Apple Festival. Very excited to finally make this committment :0) I've chosen Ellijay b/c this is a fave vacation spot for my family and we have been trying to go to the Apple festival for several years so why not add this to the trip? I hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend and a very Happy Father's day with their loved ones. Take Care ;) |
