hello everyone. I love reading this blog. I JOINED MRC 3 years ago and lost almost 20 pounds in a month. I would really like to get restarted on this program...this blog is so great for the support. I have everything it takes to get restarted...protein drinks (HNS), the pills...i just have to do it...I NEED to lose 40 pounds (I'd like to do this by the end of december, when i turn the big 4-0. SO i am excited about this forum. I need to figure out how to add my pic and the ticker.

She measured me and stated that I had lost a total of 37.75 inches and a total of 17 lbs, it was her way of making me feel more motivated and positive about a slow moving scale to do the measurements. But how can that be and still have my clothes fit me just fine, yes they fit better but they are by no means falling off of me or bagging for that matter. My rings are falling off and my shoes are loose but they don't measure my hands and feet.

I'm with DKRiley...I don't understand. They say that I have lost only 6 pounds, but I have lost 34.5 inches. How is that even possible?? I didn't believe it and had all 4 ladies at the center measure me within a 3 day time period and they all come up with the same thing! My clothes feel a little better, but not THAT much better. I have been very discouraged by the scale, so that is why I went to the measurements for some sort of encouragement.

Any words of advise out there????:?:

You are soooo close to that 90 lb. mark...I've got my fingers crossed it will soon be yours!

Ok you guys! Congrats on all the losses! I Weighed in yesterday and hadnt lost anything. I bought a scale and started weighing my food so now I'm actually eating more than I was before. Now I'm not losing though I'm eating the proper amount of food. I'm feeling kind of upset because so much is going on right now and I slept in this morning so i didnt eat bfast til ten and for lunch i didnt have my vegetable and havent been eating on time and I just am feeling really discouraged. I dont have cravings or anything but I just dont feel like i'm doing as well as i should be.
Any of you ever felt like this and what did you do to kinda get back on track?

One of the things that helped me was preparing things ahead. I'd mix up an HNS in a water bottle or make up the gelatin in advance and just have it in the frig. That way I could grab one quickly and use it to pace out my eating. I keep hard boiled eggs and cheese on hand to grab, too, as that is a quick breakfast or lunch (with either toast in the a.m. and fruit at lunch). I'm not a veggie person, so pretty much stick with those 12 oz. steam in the bag ones (green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.). I cook one up, then measure into three baggies so I can get to it quickly. That way I know I've got my 4 oz already measured out and can zap it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. The easier I make it to be OP, the better it is for me.

I know you can do this. Getting into a rountine really does help. :dust:

I work out in the heat all day so I know that could have something to do with it, who knows. I had some grilled chicken and mushrooms as my veggie. You can eat ALOT of mushrooms. Then I had my standard melba toast. I am thinking of putting some ground chicken, zuchini and a tomato HNS in the crockpot and seasoning it up for chili and seeing how it does, just to have something all ready when I get off in the evenings.
Heather

Great job on the 2 lbs. :cheer:
When I hit the half way mark, I knew I really could be successful at this. You are doing fantastic!

After reading through so many threads, I started with the Flax and the multi-vitamin when setting up my order today. Hmmm...now I'm remembering several of you ordering a vitamin or ? that you take before each meal. Thinking back to "your beginning" :) do any of you have "must haves" that seem to help with the overall weightloss at the beginning stages? Thanks!

I started with just the flax, vitamins and MRC. Like Crystal, I think the MRC helped me lose inches fast. I stopped it for a month and saw a reduction in the inches compared to the previous measure, so went back on it. I will be re-measured next week, so will let you know if there has been a difference.

Rocki: What a sweeeet NSV. Just think of how much fun your 5 year old must have had.

Hope the "sh*t" gets better...this process is hard enough without a lot of external things going on. Hang in there.

Thanks Mom and Denise, I feel like I really have to grasp to see the difference but did find it motivating. I will just make a point of taking pictures along my journey to SEE the progress because it does seem to help seeing the side by side even if I have a long way to go.

Congrats Crystal on that 30lb board.

I AM going to sign the 20lb board next week. I have my canoe trip and the dinner out tomorrow but I'm mentally ready for both. Not to mention that the river we are going to is not a rapid flowing body of water, I see a real work out in my future.

Tiger - isn't that just the oddest thing. They told me at the center that some people lose a lot of inches before they lose the lbs but I just can't get my head around that. I put my before and current photo's next to eachother and still can not see a 37 inch loss. I can see a loss just not that many inches. Check out the Paper Towel theory that's posted on the main MRC page. I found that it made alot of sense, perhaps the inches are just a general even layer loss all over and accumulate :^:

losingforhealth 07-18-2008 11:50 PM

Wow the board has really moved since yesterday . Well I went in and WI I didn't lose any but stayed the same I start my fourth week of stabilization this week.
Congradulations on all of you that lost. They took my measurements today and I have lost 82 3/4 inches all over but really have lost in my stomach I have lost 18 1/2 inches in my midsection and 15 inches around my hips and 14 inches off of my chest. I wanted to share with all of you my friends.
I bought me a new swimsuit as my sister has bought a swimmingpool 20 by 15 by 4 ft deep I think pretty big. so I am going to start going over to her house to go swimming. I haven't been swimming in several years. Hope all of you have a great weekend. Melanie

theycallmemom 07-19-2008 11:40 AM

Hey ya'll! Day 2 on conditioning for me. So far so good - I know its only the begining  but I am so ready to do this!!!! Anyway - quick question, I am taking a store brand multi vitimin, and flax seed caplet (both of which my center said were great !!!) and the MRC-6, but something is totally upsetting my stomache! I think for lunch I will just take the MRC-6 and then for dinner just the flax, and then for breakfast tomorrow just the multi - and see if i can find which one is bothering me - Im gonna venture to guess its the multi cause when I was on a multi with iron befor it really upset my stomach......I will be so very upset if its the MRC-6 cause that one souunds like it has the most bang for your buck :^: And since cost wise this program is way outta my league! I really really have to watch every penny!

Good news here too!! My daughter signed up yesterday and were gonna do this together!! How awesome is that! :cp: at home built in accountability!!!

Hubby is excited to, he has blamed my low self esteem on body image for years....and I have to admit, just thinking about being able to go shopping and not walk out of a store totally depressed kind of pumps me up!!! :D

Anyway - Im excited, nervous and scared all rolled into one chunky package :hyper: Have a wonderful day everyone :)

Wow! Lots of great accomplishments have been posted here since yesterday. Way to go, everyone!

Maintainforlife-Good for you for deciding to join the mail order legion! I think you'll find plenty of support on this board to help you along your way. I'm excited for you!

Momofboys-Wow, girl! You are smokin'! Your husband is going to be so surprised!!! I can't wait for him to come home!

DKRiley-37 inches is huge! That's like the height of a kindergartener, no? All four ladies at your center can't be wrong, so just keep doing what you're doing!

Crystal-You go, girl! That must have been a terrific feeling to sign that 30 lb board. I'm so happy for you!

Gma to 4-Funny you should mention the vitamin quality. My dad owned a rental store when I was a kid, and I often went with him to trade shows. At the time, he was thinking he might want to add a porta-potty line to the business, and I remember the vendors telling us about all the undissolved vitamins they found when cleaning the porta-potties. That image has stuck with me since I was in junior high! LOL! So, there is some truth to that, but MRC doesn't have market sewn up on high quality vitamins.

WorkingARMom-Holy cow! I can't believe you endured an ice cream free trip to Cold Stone. I am so impressed! That's some serious willpower!

tvmitche-Welcome to the board! I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Melanie-Oooh! I'm so excited about your upcoming swimming adventures! That's the one thing I've really wanted to do this summer. I've gotta get it in soon. Can you believe July is almost gone?

Personal update-I was summoned home to help with a couple of projects, and as we all now know, a trip home for me can introduce unforeseen/unnecessary challenges! It's so chaotic here, and there are just too many people in the kitchen. (The houseguests are still here...) But, I went to the grocery store early yesterday, bought everything I needed for dinner, prepared everything to be grilled, and left it in their hands. Apart from everything being doused in italian dressing before grilling, which probably wasn't on plan and was slightly disappointing for me, it worked out okay. I really thought they'd season it with something and spray with olive oil, but I was hesitant to do the seasoning because their diets are so limited. I was really eager to try the sea salt & olive oil grilled asparagus, but alas, it was not to be.

I ran into the center this morning for a quick weigh-in and to pick up another bottle of MRC-6. Despite the 4th of July debacle, I have lost another 3 lbs and 22 inches! I've actually lost more than that because I had been on plan several weeks before I was measured, but it is encouraging! And I just realized that it is almost lunchtime and I forgot to eat breakfast today. I'm getting off to a great start, aren't I? Better go do something about that. Cheers!

Isn't it cool to be so pumped about losing weight!! I remember being that way in the beginning also.... I still am actually! I love it! You are changing the way you are living. YOU ARE LIVING and isn't it grand? You're getting your life back! What's not thrilling about that! Live it up!

I don't think it's going to be the MRC6.... does that multi vitamin have iron in it then? If so, it probably is the culprit.... I think that's a good plan about trying to narrow it down. I'm sorry I don't have any amazing advice about it, but my guess is it's the multi vitamin.... I haven't had an stomach issues with the supplements, thank God. I take too many to figure it out if I did!!! Haha!

Take in all of those feelings.... it's ok. Like I said, you are changing the way you live and it's going to be all of those things (scary, exciting, etc) but it's going to be the most amazing journey you've ever had because it's because it's yours. And I bet you've never been the priority in your life. Now you can be. Enjoy it.
