Last night DH and I went shopping - I was looking for black capri's and was getting so discouraged. Everything was out in my size - DH said, well that's what happens when you are now a popular size. Anyway, I actually bought a size 10. I stayed in the dressing room forever trying on the 12 and 10. I felt like the 10 must be way too tight - although DH said they looked great. And I knew I wouldn't be happy with the 12 because I could pull them partly off without unbuttoning. So, I took a deep breathe and purchased the 10's. This morning I had to recheck the tag because the 10's fit so well I thought I had bought the 12's by mistake. Ok, I'm rambling. When I was married, I was a size 12, so I was haivng such a hard time wrapping my head around this size! They scheduled my pre-stabilization apt for Wednesday morning too! She did tell me I get new foods added when I get within 6 lbs of goal - so that matches what everyone else said. On a little high :flow2: gotta get back to work!

That is awesome!!! 5 lbs in less than a week! You go! It definitely feels great to be in a popular size.

Rocki: Hey!!!! YOu are so funny!!!! I wish I was in the 130's with you! Vacations are something else when it comes to cheating. I did my share on our little 4th of July Vacation. We'll get back on track. I'm thinking I may resign the 10 weeks to get the Body fat down. Let's get back on track, woman! We can do it!

WorkingARMom: Only gaining 2 pounds sounds good to me, and to go in and lose one was terrific. You are back full force now. I'll probably be joining you and resigning when my contract is up.

Crystal: Congrats on 30 pounds gone forever!!!!:carrot::carrot:

Congrats to all the losers and thanks for all the wonderful visual encouragement. Everyone looks awesome!!!!!

Jenny....You've caught up to me and are a month behind!! Phewwy on you! :) Just kidding. You're doing awesome!!! It was great to hear from you.

Welcome to all the newbies! This is an AWESOME plan and an even AWESOMER (:)) group! Good luck to everyone!

Thanks for all the pics. You all look amazing!

NSV this week..We went to Adventure Island (water park adjacent to Busch Gardens) and I didn't feel self-consious in my bathing suit. It's the 1st time I've been to a water park in more than 10 years. We had a great time with our 5 year old.

I haven't WI this week b/c we've had a lot of crazy sh*t going on (sorry, but it's true). I'm gonna try to go tomorrw. Probably the main reason I haven't gone is b/c I went SO WAY OFF plan last weekend it's taken me all week to recover. I ate what I wanted for 4 days straight and it's taken me 5 to get that gained weight back off again. I hope to be down again by the AM (hopefully a REAL LOSS, not just a loss of what I gained back). If I'm not I might wait to Monday to WI at the center. I just hate going in there knowing I've screwed up. I've been TOTALLY OP ALL WEEK! I promise:). I've really got a great mental thing going now. I want the foods but I'm able to TELL myself that I don't NEED them. Sad, but I saw this VERY overweight girl at the water park and I just keep thinking of her when I want to do something off program. It's horrible and I felt so sad for her b/c she was really young and extemely overweight. I just keep picturing her and telling myself that if I slip at all I could do that to myself. So, that's part of my great mental thing right now. There was also another young girl at Sea World (last weekend) who couldn't ride the roller coaster b/c she was too large and I felt terrible for her as well. I know I didn't have problems like that before but I was WAY overweight, esp for my height. I just keep thinking of things like the girls I saw and feel horrible b/c I'm finally able to get myself under control and hope that someday they will too.

Have a great weekend everyone. If I WI tomorrow I'll check back in.

Whoo-Hoo! I'm so happy for you - you REALLY deserve that spa package now! ;) Thanks for the update about Kai - I do feel bad for Roger, but I understand the hair thing! I doubt I'd do it. :^:

Well I'm here for a little bit of distraction - cause I'm feeling the urge to munch on something. Today was my's son's 17th birthday and I think I just plain wore myself out resisting temptation! He wanted to go to Valentino's buffet for supper :jeno:- I managed to stay OP with lots of salad and a piece of fish- had no idea Valentino's had talipia on their buffet?! I did have a smidgen of ranch dressing and I didn't get my bread in tonight - but I figured I did pretty ok considering I was watching everyone else eat pasta, pizza, cheese bread, and mini mozzarella cheese sticks:drool: Then of course I had to cut and serve up the birthday cake - which isn't really cake at all but a very sinfully yummy dessert called "gooey butter cake". It was hard enough just making it for him - but then to serve it and watch everyone enjoy it was about enough to kill me! I'm actually kinda depressed now - maybe cause my "baby" isn't that much of a baby anymore at 17 - but also because I felt like I was just sitting there watching rather than enjoying with everyone else. Yes I did get to eat with them - it just wasn't the same ya know? :( So now of course I'm hearing this little voice in my head tell me "hey - you had a bit of ranch dressing tonight - that probably knocked you out of fat burning for 3 days anyway.....you might as well eat something you really want!" I'm sooooooo tempted to give in and do just that - HELP!!!!

You have no reason to be discouraged with your plan. I just noticed your weight tracker. Girl, you have lost almost 20 pounds in a little over a month. those are astonishing numbers! And I am proud of how well you did at the party. One reason I am here is because I do not have the willpower at those events. Kudos to you!!!!!

Gina: Fantastic job with the 5 lbs, 90 lb board and the size 10s. Sounds like stabilization is within sight. Can't wait to hear about the Pre-stabilization. I've got 11 lbs to go and all I've been told is they hope I can get to the point where I can attend the stabilization session the end of August. God, I sure hope I can make it! I get weighed and measured next week.

MOB: My youngest grandchild's 1st birthday party was tonight, so I can sure empathize with you about feeling like a bystander. I'll probably get the lecture about knocking me out of fat burning as well, as I didn't have my green sheet along and thought that lentils would replace my bread, just like black beans do. Well, guess what...they aren't on the plan. I got chewed yesterday about the ketosis because I ate a nectarine (all we had at home for fruit), as its not OP either. They are going to just love my food diary, with another off plan choice. I keep thinking I'm making the best choices in the moment, but there are just a couple of counselors who agree with me so I'm bummed tonight, too.:(

Listen, girl...a little bit of ranch dressing is good for your soul. Now, I'm not saying you should have it every day or even every week, but part of this process is learning to eat for a lifetime. I think it would be awfully hard to go through life without ever having ranch dressing again, and it sounds like you made some fabulous choices tonight. I am really proud of you! Hold firm and do NOT beat yourself up.

Sometimes when I have a craving/temptation, I'll pop in an exercise video. Usually I'll forget about whatever it was that I wanted by the time I finish the tape. Instead, I'm thinking about what a rock star I am to be able to do whatever workout it is. (There are so few I can actually finish, but I get a big head on those that I can! LOL!)

Those first weeks are challenging. I was really hungry all the time, but your body will adjust quickly. The good news is that your cheats were at least things on the menu--you weren't at the KFC eating your own personal bucket of wings. Do NOT spend any time beating yourself up--stress is not conducive to healthy weight loss! To use Namaste's analogy, just make a u-turn and get right back on track. Has your center talked to you about having an extra HNS or two when you get hungry between/after meals?

Oh ok, I was wondering, I thought I had to click somewhere but there wasn't anything to click lol. I see them now, you look great!!

I've been super busy this last week ... and along with that comes super stress, and yes I've had little cheats EVERY DAY because of it UGH! Since Thursday I've gotten 4 assignments and 2 midterms done, along with working full time, even had to go in to work today for a few hours... I'm just exhausted and I'm pretty sure I didn't lose this week because of it.

It totally sucks, but I have tomorrow completely off so I plan to PLAN all my meals for the week, pre-cook all the stuff I need, etc. so that I can get back on track.

Ok back to catching up on all the posts...

Judy-You are doing so well! Don't be bummed. I think the lifestyle speech is applicable here, too. It would be ideal if you had been offered a full range of menu options, but it sounds like you conscientiously made what would be good lifestyle choices if you weren't on such a restrictive plan. That is a victory in itself! And that's what's going to count in the long-run when you have reached your goal and gone through maintenance and are turned loose on a whole world of food choices. Furthermore, I'm not sure any one of us is fortunate enough to have registered nutritionists as our consultants, and sometimes I think they know less than we do. I googled nutritional info for both black beans and lentils, and the black beans have more calories/carbs/protein/fiber. Unless the lentils were prepared in some crazy seasoning, you shouldn't have gotten enough carbs to kick you out of ketosis.

I have been very discouraged by the scale, so that is why I went to the measurements for some sort of encouragement.

Any words of advise out there????:?:

Maybe your initial measurements were wrong? I dunno, I mean from what everyone else has said, a pound of weight loss equals to around an inch to maybe 2 inches lost. You lost almost 6 inches per pound! But hey, what do I know, maybe it is true, if so that's awesome!

That way I could grab one quickly and use it to pace out my eating. I keep hard boiled eggs and cheese on hand to grab, too, as that is a quick breakfast or lunch (with either toast in the a.m. and fruit at lunch). I'm not a veggie person, so pretty much stick with those 12 oz. steam in the bag ones (green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.). I cook one up, then measure into three baggies so I can get to it quickly. That way I know I've got my 4 oz already measured out and can zap it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. The easier I make it to be OP, the better it is for me.

Hey thanks for the tips, I will have to try some of those this week. I also like to pre-cook ground turkey breast with taco seasoning and then I measure out 4 ounce baggies of the stuff, so that I can just grab and go. I do this with chicken breast too. Pre-cooking and pre-measuring is they key. I like the idea of hard boiled eggs and cheese, so easy. Oh and I also love those steam bags of veggies, the brocolli/cauliflower one is yummy. I get that and the brussel sprouts. If I have time I like to buy fresh zuchini and yellow squash and cut them up and put them in gallon storage bags.

I'm sorry I don't have any amazing advice about it, but my guess is it's the multi vitamin.... I haven't had an stomach issues with the supplements, thank God. I take too many to figure it out if I did!!! Haha!

This is off topic, but it reminded me... the night before last I was up late working on homework, and I decided to have a glass of milk - it had been hours since I ate dinner, I was hungry, and tired, and stressed, yada yada... so anyway, I grabbed a glass of milk and some animal crackers. An hour later I had the worst stomach cramps of my life. My body has not had milk in over a month, and I had suspected for a few years now that I might be lactose intolerant, but I think this incident solidified that for me. I have never felt pain like that, it was horrible, I was literally doubled over in pain (by this time I had taken some peptol bismol and gone to bed). Does anyone have any experience with being lactose intolerant? Well I learned my lesson, I don't think I'll be drinking milk again anytime soon!
