Poor baby and poor Meowee. I know how sad you must feel - we do adore our furbabies. I still weep a bit over Lucy.
Just got a bill for oil - $488.00 so am comforting myself with MF cream of chicken soup for my afternoon snack. Not bad but I like the broccoli better. I had the beef/veg stew at noon - kind of like a soup but tasted fine. Experimentation needed. I'm certainly not keen on the peanut butter bars and won't order them again. I can hardly wait to eat the whole starter pack and start to pick my own stuff. Being diabetic limits me a bit but I'm sure I can work around it. |
Hi Everybody!
Meowee! So sorry to hear about your kitty! I have a Yorkie and she is my child.... I'm really sorry. But I have no doubt you were a wonderful mommie and that kitty was so loved and spoiled... AND blessed to have been yours.
Maya You are a better women than I am! I don't think I could do a house redo in the middle of MF'ing and winter too! You're really my hero now;) Camorgana you are rock'in with it now! Way to go:carrot: Hi to everyone else! :D Since I'm weighing once a week ONLY now, I don't have any news to report other than people are really noticing now and it's only been 35 days! I love this program! We can do this ladies! |
Thanks a lot for all the kind wishes . . . it helps to know that you all understand. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear
Ms Meowee,
Sorry to hear about your kitty! I have two kitties myself, my Siamese baby Serena is 16 years old, and not in the best of health, I worry about her all the time, my other kitty Muffin is a 5 year old tabby, who my Siamese thinks is her baby, she loves her a lot, and I attribute the companionship they have to Serena's long life. My best friend just lost her Siamese who was also 16 and she is just devastated, it must be difficult for you as well. My Heartfelt thoughts are with you! Terry |
I am finally resolving my keyboard issues! yay!
I have been lurking and reading your posts. I am so sorry about the sweet mewoer. Well, it looks like lots of new folks! I have been doing MF for 63 days now -- two months by the calendar yesterday. I feel totally different, and yet, NOBODY has noticed a thing. I had visions that everyone would notice the dramatic weight loss, but no! My dh thinks people notice but do not say anything. I feel the weight loss is slowing down lately. I think that's because I am now using one MF bar a day for December. I just have so many errands, plus so much temptation, that I decided to be a bit less austere for now. I carry bars and RTD with me so that I will not have to be tempted to go off plan. But I am thinking about dropping the bars because I want to join Maya in the land of "no longer obese". I have to get to 179 for that, and I dont' see much point in torturing myself by hovering here at 181 much longer! I bought the Beck Diet solution workbook, and it is better than the book for me. I highly recommend it. If you are getting one or the other, consider getting the book from the library and the workbook from the bookstore. |
Hey all!
A special shout-out to Ms Meowee -- hang in there! Can you post us all a photo of Mr. Jazz? I think it would be a great way to remember the little guy...I've made a donation in Mr. Jazz's name to our local SPCA, too... Way to go, everyone, for staying OP! Ms Letting -- don't worry about people not noticing. The way this was described as follows by a very wise moderator on this forum: If you take a huge roll of paper towel, and remove 25 sheets, it looks exactly the same. BUT if you take a very small roll of paper towel and remove the same number of sheets, you really notice the difference. When I was at my highest known, of 243lbs, 30 lbs made ABSOLUTELY. NO. VISUAL. DIFFERENCE. Kind of like taking a bucket of water out of the ocean! But the smaller I get, the greater the effect of a losing a few pounds. People WILL notice, and probably all at once. Don't forget that lots of people don't want to comment and don't want to ask, either, because weight is such a sensitive issue for alot of people. I WILL bet you that once you get just another 15 lbs off, and DRESS accordingly (ditch the oversized clothes! Show it off!!!), you will be told that you look FABULOUS. So just hang in there...:) As you know, I had a major SLOW-DOWN in weeks 3 and 4, but this morning I weighed in for week 5 and recorded a ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------4 lb weight loss!!! So much for monthly weigh-in vow... I just had to know, but the scales are back up in the attic (what's left of it!), and I thought that I would record once a week so I could enter it in my MF "My Plan" section (electronic tracker...). For all you Texans and Floridians (is that correct???) out there -- I no longer have a roof over my family room, and it is snowing gently in the garage! Photos/video link to follow, once I download everything onto my computer and upload it onto photobucket! I also have no heat (furnace has crapped out!) but have an emergency space heater to keep the main body of the house warm enough, and a gas fireplace in the dining room that helps. As I am living in the basement with its own gas fireplace, I am nice and toasty warm! The cats are doing SO much better now that we are all huddled here in the basement, and even Ms Kira has settled right down. Anyways, gotta dash and let the hot water tank guy in! (I also have no hot water because the tank has to be replaced and it isn't safe the way it is right now...) Later!:dizzy: Maya :) |

Good Morning . . .
Have to do a few things around the house and then take Frack to the vet at 2:30 -- I think raising my kids was easier than this -- she has done something to her right eye. It's watering, swollen, and she can only half open it. Also just booked my flights home to Ontario for Christmas -- got lucky and found a seat sale at this late date. Now that Jazz (and his two shots of insulin every day) is no longer part of the deal, I don't mind asking my neighbour/friend to pop in daily for feeding and other little chores. Haven't gotten a hold of my SIL to tell her I'm coming after all -- hope I'm still welcome. And . . . I now know why my plow guy hasn't been here . . . he finally just called to say "Oh gee, forgot to tell you, I'm not doing snow this year" -- thank goodness for my 4-wheel vehicle because it is snowing AGAIN. At least it's coming down straight for a change from the sideways routine. I'll be able to measure today's since I just looked out and realized that I left a garbage can down by the road all night. Just another senior moment. That was a very sweet remembrance MAYA . . . . . . here are the most recent pictures of Jazz that I have -- taken at the beginning of July. The third picture is Jazz and Frack -- just coincidentally -- of course she was only 4 months old at the time -- she's grown a little since then. See you all soon . . . keep things moving and shaking . . . :carrot: |
Absolutely ADORABLE! Mr. Jazz looks alot like my Mr. Sammy!
Hope you get a plow soon... More pics for you! http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...t=5752ee86.pbw http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...attheStart.flv http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...estruction.flv http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...howyoudoit.flv http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...terRemoval.flv Talk to y'all later, Maya :) |
Well, just after I posted that nobody had noticed, a neighbor noticed. I admit that I am still wearing the old shirts, size 18/20, but with 14 pants. Maybe if I got smaller shirts people would be more likely to notice the difference. what a great image with the paper towels!

Hey guys - can I join you? I'm starting Medifast on Monday (after a trip to my sister's this weekend). All of my stuff arrived last night and I've bagged it all up into individual days - I'm ready to start.
I've been reading your posts for several days and feel like I already know some of you. Freiamaya - you're posts are killing me. We're thinking about building an addition to our 100 y.o. house and I'm having nightmares. At least we don't have to worry about snow coming in down here in TN. Meowee - Sorry to hear about Jazzy - he was beautiful. We have two 12 y.o. litter mate tabbies (Boomer and Muffin) who hate each other. I think their mutual animosity keeps them going. We also have a 2 y.o. calico (Lily)and a 9 m.o. Rat Terrier (Bosco)...the older cats really have no tolerance for either of them although Boomer and Lily will sometimes play together a little. I also have two daughters, 6 and 9, a husband and a full time job as an engineer so my life is FULL....I'm hoping this plan will get me losing without having to worry about it too much. I need to get back to work but I'll be here on Monday. Have a great weekend everyone. Maria |
Welcome Ms MK! You are more than welcome to post here for advice and support and whatever else you like, and if you don't feel like posting, just feel free to pop in and keep on reading.
I am SO COLD that I can't bend my fingers! I've been outside checking up on the work -- already found a huge framing error that is being corrected as we speak --which just goes to show you that you just can't take anything for granted. I know the blueprints really, really well - almost by heart - so I've been measuring and checking and visualizing (my head hurts) like crazy. I think that if you get the small errors while they are errors -- and hey, we are ALL only human! -- they won't snowball into huge discrepancies! Hard to control my naturally perfectionistic OCD-ish personality, but am doing my best! More photos later! Maya :) |
Whoops! I had a close encounter of the worst kind with some Christmas candy stuff - I'd describe it but it'd be food porn. I should have known better than to just "sample a tiny piece". :yikes: Anyhow, back on track today and sipping my strawberry shake and trying to keep an open mind.
Maya, you gotta stay on top of these guys. Ms MK, :welcome: Have a good weekend and see you Monday. Slim, watch your mail. I sent it off yesterday. Meowee, hope your heart is healing. By the way, are you on Medifast now or just sneaking up on it? (I guess I could read back and figure it out but I'd rather have a cup of tea. Hershey has been fed and is cleaning the snowballs out of her fur. The woodstove is purring away. There's wood in the house and the tea is steeping. I'm starting my weekend right now! |
Just read back and answered my own question, Meowee. My doc was OK with this plan but he also knows that my HA1C is really stable. I go for more bloodwork on Jan. 18 so we'll see if there is a change.
Fabulous50Texas, I'm an admin so took the liberty of altering your profile and plugged your ticker into your profile so it will appear automatically when you post. I set it to show 8 pounds off but you can change that. Just go to User CP, choose edit signature, and change the last number in the code as in "228/160/220". I also changed your phrase under your avatar. I know you are in Texas but probably don't have size 20 feet! |
Hi gang . . .
Loved actually "hearing your voice" on those little videos, MAYA . . . things like that make the people you usually only "read" seem so much more real. As always, RUTH . . . loved having you answer your own questions and it was wonderful of you to be your amazing helpful self . . . Loved the 'feet' comment -- I have big feet for my height; but not that big (thank goodness). Had to take Frack back to the Vet's. Her other eye decided to develop the same problems. Vet has now ascertained that she has Herpes Feline Conjunctivitis caused by the Feline Herpes Virus 1 -- yes it is related to Herpes Simplex 1 that infects humans -- thankfully, the two virus types are NOT transferable between species. She is now spending the weekend with the Vet being treated for the infection in both eyes and receiving L-Lysine supplements to attempt to supress the herpes virus. I got sent home with a second prescription of Lysine Supplements to give to her litter-mate, Frick. My Vet now figures they were born with it and it has just taken 9 months to manifest itself. Apparently the problem is very common in the "higher-strung-purebreds". She (the vet) figures the three other cats all have good old "hybrid vigour" on their side and probably won't come down with the symptoms. :crossed: I have not yet been successful in getting any of the L-Lysine paste (the packaging says how "most" cats really enjoy the taste) into Frick. Haven't even seen her since my unsuccessful attempt. Obviously she is not "most" cats -- but the three "vigourously hybrid" adults (who don't need it) enjoyed licking it off me -- where it landed when Frick spit it out. At least it won't hurt them. Just the same kind of immune-boosting supplement they recommend for humans with similar viral problems -- at a very different dosage level, of course. The past couple of days have not been very happy ones in my "zoo". But I did find someone to plow my driveway -- just in time, too another 5 cm (only about 2") of snow is coming tonight. Thanks for letting me vent everybody -- I really needed to whine for a little while. |
You aren't whining! Everyone needs to talk to SOMEONE for heaven's sake! So keep on posting. We will all kick you in the butt if and when you need it, but that time sure isn't NOW!
My cat, Minnie, used to HATE any form of NON-cat-food. Including hairball medication and vet-prescribed pastes. I tried smearing it on her paw, once, but she ran around the house flicking her paw in the air, and spattered hairball medication all over the walls. Fortunately my other cat was following her and licked the walls clean... SO, for Miss Minnie, I used to water down the paste to a very liquid consistency, then suck it up in a syringe, and then force it down the back of her throat. It worked, for sure, but I couldn't help laughing because the horrible, horrible noises that would come out of her while I was doing this was truly unbelievable! It will all work out! Talk to you guys tomorrow, Maya :) |
