We are suppose to get some more snow tomorrow. How much have you gotten out there? I looked on the map and if I got on I 80, you are only 6 hours away from me (I think). I live in Knoxville, Iowa.
I have been to Omaha, to the zoo a few times, when the kids were little. It was always in the middle of summer and really too unbearable to go. I use to go to the dog track in Council Bluffs too, but that was ages ago. Did they close that down, or do you know? It use to be the thing to do on Saturday's. Now there are casino's and tracks everywhere, so I've not even thought about going there for years. Not that we gamble all that much now. We hit the casino's a few times a year and that usually is enough.

On the bright side, I just found out we can get Extreme History on discovery
channel tonight. This is a series where Roger Daltrey(my favorite)is going
through historical events like going on a Buffalo Hunt, surviving the Colorado
River in a replica of a boat used in 1869 and loads of other fun stuff. It
runs for nine weeks and I'll be taping every last episode Thats
will do the trick for me.
Lynn, Sean is having a better week. He has just done a speech on T>V>
Scams and his class mates loved it. Looks like he will be going on to the
finals. I'm glad, its a real moral booster for him.
Nikki, I sure hope you don't get any more snow. I'm sure you have had
your fill as well!!

Anne, I'd also like to know about those bars. Chocolate, can't get enough of it. I made something yesterday, called chocolate peanut butter cups, but they were not very good. I did manage to eat most of them, complaining the whole time about how I didn't like them. I sure didn't need to eat them, just had to have some kind of chocolate fix.

Hi, Aleka, hope your not snow bound.
We are getting more snow, should get 7 more inches today. I hurt my back earlier this week, not sure how. 3 vertebraes are out. I tried to exercise one day, thinking I could work it out, but it just got worse. I'm seeing the chiropractor in an hour, so hope he can help. When I got up this morning, I couldn't bend over, barely stand up and walking was miserable.
I hate getting older, it sucks.
I did get my taxes done. DH wants to put the return against our Master Card bill. I agree, but sure wish I could spend it on something fun, like a cruise or a vacation to Hawaii. Anywhere but somewhere cold and snowy would be great.
1 square unsweetened Chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon cream
4-8 (depending on how sweet you like your chocolate)splenda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
chopped nuts optional.
microwave chocolate & butter until smooth (45 sec)
stir
add additional ingred.
I line a small jewellery box with foil, pour in above ingredients and set
in the fridge for a few minutes and it tastes pretty darn decent!!!
Goodmorning Ladies: Just came back from Barrie and found those Aitkins muffins you girls have been talking about. They were $7.49!!!!!! I don't think I will be getting them anytime soon. Don't you think that is expensive? What do you pay in the states. Sorry to hear your back is bad Nikki hope the Dr. helps. Anne glad your son is having a better week. I saw the Roger Daltry show advertised and wondered what it was about. I will watch it next week. We're getting ready for another winter storm starting tomorrow afternoon and lasting until Sat. afternoon. They're saying we'll get snow then it will turn to ice. Lovely weather.
nikki, I am so sorry about your back. Hope the chiropractor helps you. You probably should take it easy with the exercising until it heals because you don't want to injure it any further. Hope your back is better very soon. Having back problems is not any fun.

We get the History Ch. on our cable and I watch that when something good is on. I especially like reading about the French & Indian War in the 1750's or thereabouts. lynn, the price varies for Atkins mixes, depending on where you buy them. The mixes can run anywhere between $3.99-$4.99. Walmart sells them a little cheaper than the grocery stores.

Having a great day. all but my Step son who is way to old to always be asking for money. I know he hates that I say no. What I really said was we have some work that needs to be done. If you want to come this weekend, we would be glad to pay you well for your work. My DH, is so used to just giving the boys money he is trying not to be mad at me. He knows I am right. I mean the boy is 33 years old. The boys have had many years to make there dad feel he somehow should just keep handing them money and go with out. It just makes me so mad. My DH is such a good guy, and father. He has nothing to prove. I told my step son, he is always welcome to live with us, and get on his feet that way. It was funny how he was not that poor. ha ha

it sweeter you can adjust it to your liking. I love this recipe. I have even
put a little orange extract in it to make it like a Terrys Orange!!!
I love the cost too. As in doesn't cost much unlike the bars you purchase
in GNC

Next due you use one square or one package of the choc.? I made it both ways. Did not taste much different but would be 2 carb less with just one square. But want to do it right..

Well, the chiropractor worked some magic and I'm alot better now. I don't feel like a teenager again, but I can move around without as much pain. He said that for this lower back problem that walking actually is the best thing for it, so I'll get on the gazelle later for a quick 20 min.
We are getting snow too. It is really coming down and they said it will snow until tomorrow. We're suppose to get around 7-12 inches. So far, we have gotten a good 4 inches in the last few hours.
Lynn, those Atkins muffins are too expensive and not worth paying that much for. They aren't even that great, when you come right down to it. I saw that there was a low carb summit last month. Some of the people that went to it said there was a lot of interest from Canadian companies, so hopefully, that means you will be getting some more products up there at more competative prices. After eating alot of this stuff, I think it just makes a person stall anyway. It's really best to stick with fresh foods and things you make yourself anyway.

Sha, I understand what your saying about that stepson. I have one too. Even though the kid is younger (he's 24), he has a good job and lives with his grandfather and doesn't pay for any living expenses. He never has any money. He makes more than we do. When he use to ask for money, I would get pretty ticked off, since it meant we were doing without something, so he could go blow it on whatever. Finally, DH told him he just couldn't give him any more money. It was kind of tense for awhile because of that.
I know your stepsons situation is different, but it all comes down to the same thing. These aren't really kids, they are adults and if you want them to act like adults, you have to treat them like adults and sometimes that includes saying no. It's hard when your the parent, because you always want to take care of your kids, but that's what love is. It is sometimes realizing that you love them enough to give them the chance to grow up. And it's tough and your afraid they won't love you as much any more. But it's really the best thing for them in the long run, although they might not agree right now.
You certainly did the right thing by saying he could work for the money and since he doesn't want to do that, he must not need the money that badly. Anyway, long story short, I undestand completely why you get mad about it.
