I have not been lurking, just plain absent! Mostly because the computer is in the room with no air conditioning. I haven't turned it on since Monday. It has been upper 90's all week here and unbearable! But I am off all next week to play in the new houseaint, clean, move. I'm sure I'll be posting more!
I am feeling calmer now than before the closing, and although there are a lot of things to do, somehow it is not as stressful, and mostly the fun stuff is left. we had the floors refinished in the entire house- the day of the closing we went over and ripped up carpet, what a relief to get old avocado green pile carpet OUT! The floors look amazing. They even saved the floor in our bedroom, where the boards were warped and bumpy! Now it looks like a high school gym.
The bad news is my weight and eating have been terrible. I am hoping for a few cooler days so I can get to the painting and other chores. I have been so sedentary, just collapsing at night with my ice cream or whatever.
I'll be around this week, I'll bore you all with the house details til you beg for mercy!
back later, dottie
HEY BIRTHDAY GIRL< how was your French dinner out? And Sonogranny, are you lurking? happy birthday to you!
avacado green pile rug? all ya needed to do was add some hot chile wall paper and you'd have been set!!! See, you can't bore me with house details. Pooky, of course is now hyperventalating (sp) in a paper bag.
can't take credit for the last supper thing. It is a common phrase used among the wls crowd BUT I am glad it amused you all!!!
off to find the kids uniform...I think it is in the dryer. Last game at 10 am, party at 1pm.
I am not hyperventilating! You can work with avacado--just not shag or stained or--heck, just glad you ripped the thing up! LOL
As for me I am a slug. I haven't done a thing in this house since Miree went to visit her grandma and she will be back next week. Too hot one day, next day I was tired. What's gonna be my excuse today? LOL
Eating has been in dribs and drabs and not anything serious. I just can't get it together enough to cook a proper meal. The good news is there has been a lot of salad on the menu!
Off to start the bedroom cleaning--you'd swear two teenagers lived here instead of two adults!
good morning *s.. I finished work yesterday til Sept long weekend... so now I have no more excuses about not getting to the gym (I haven't been there in 2 months). But, I'll start Monday.... I slept til the &*%#$ phone rang (course, my first day of holidays). Gotta go move son's stuff out of his apartment today and put his things in storage... he took off with the carnival when it came thru town 2 weeks ago. Just what every mother wants... her son to run off with the carnival. At least he'll get the idea our little city is so bad out of his head, I hope.
Anyway.. have a great day and weekend everyone... at least the sun is shining here today *s
Happy Saturday Everyone!!! I'm done with my Body Flex "PAHHHING" for the morning--wanted to get it in early--it is going to be a scorcher here in IL. I think the AC kicked on already. Just love those power bills! Ruth, hope your AC guy got there!
DH just left for an all day golf outing sponsored by our Booster Club for our school district. It helps raise money for the sports programs--the school can't afford to fund all of it anymore so fundraisers are the name of the game. DS would have loved to have gone, but you have to be 18 to be in it. As hot as it is I don't see the draw myself.
This afternoon I am going grocery shopping. I've decided to give the South Beach a whirl and see how it goes--I think if I can make it thru the first few days I should be okay. I also need to pick up stuff for our basketball jaunt next weekend. After that I think DS and I are going to hit the movie theater--Charlie's Angels 2. How is that for motivation--looking at beautiful women in bikinis!! It should keep my hand out of the popcorn that's for sure!!
Hershey was scheduled for her Therapeutic Paws evaluation 8 to 12 this morning and Mommy was the nervous one! We had a nice coffee and pep talk on the deck before we left.
She aced it, by the way. There were 20 dogs which quickly dwindled to 12 when 8 of them blew it - aggression and peeing on the floor will do it! Hersh was her usual calm and ladylike self and came out the Top Dog of the remaining pooches. I feel so proud and kind of silly but..... We stopped at the Vet for weigh-in on the way home (up to59!) so her treat was a strawberry from the flat I bought at the Farm. Now I just need to pass the police check and hope the people I bribed to be references don't tell everything about me!
This afternoon we will relax and freeze berries. I still have planting to do but it's getting hot out there.
Off to have a tuna salad lunch on the deck. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
I made it back in one piece My stress level is lowered a notch or 2, but I still have 1 and 1/2 more weeks of the MIL. She isnt an easy woman to deal with. Thank goodness she thinks the sun rises and sets on me.....I take such good care of her only son. (at least thats what she tells everyone)
Meeting with the ex was uneventful, which is a very good thing. I made sure I was in a very crowded area when I met him, and was fully prepared to tell him where to go if he gave me any lip.
Spent 3 days with mom ad dad, that even went pretty good, better than I expected. So.....once MIL goes back, my life should get back to quasi normal.
Hey, everyone! Sorry to be absent lately, been working temp. for a girl who is on vacation. They offered me this job at first, and I flat turned it down. They are paying her less than they offered me, and she is still doing it. They worked me slap to death!! I'll be glad to get back to my quiet little cemetery and away from the big bosses and all the blah-blah-blah that goes with them!!
Had a baby shower today, for my sister's sister-in-law. (Is that hard to understand, how can I say it???) Anyway, there were like 4 pregnant women there and tons of kids, a few babies! I felt a pang or two while holding them, but I've become pretty comfortable with the idea that God has blessed me with one child and that may be the end of it. Still, it would be nice to know I COULD have a baby if I really wanted to. Anyway, thems the breaks!
Hope you're all having a great weekend, staying busy, and staying on plan! I've been noticing a lot of fluid loss in my hands and feet, so I've been really careful to keep drinking that water. I feel like a fish! Have fun everyone, talk to you later.
DH made the coffee it was hot now it is cold so I am going to make fresh hot. loads of stuff to do this morning including get DD2 packed and ready to fly!!! WHOOO I am getting excited for her. Ready to tak4 on the world today. I need so much to get soo much done that I need a whole pot of coffee just for me!! I will try to check in later!!
Did some cleaning yesterday in the new house, sweep up the filthy basement floor, and took down old blinds and shades...washed the bathrooms, and got the kitchen ready for paint. Today, DH will paint some closets while I get the kitchen cabinets started.
Eating went great yesterday since I had my hands too busy to eat! I brought diet soda, sliced turkey and bottled water to eat, and then made a steak for dinner with green beans. Hoping for another good one today!
Have a hot coffee in hand as dh and I work diligently to get my computer up and running again. Everything was lost in the big crash and now I just found all my email contacts again--thank goodness! Still installing all my stuff....
As for today, it's raining and I am slowly cleaning up the house. No rush--Miree won't be home till next week so I can take my time
Good early afternoon from beautiful downtown Delta! The whole town is jumping. It's the start of the Canada Day and Fourth of July celebrations and we even had a traffic jam in front of the booze store!
I was over at the Fairgrounds watering for an hour and must have talked to 15 people who were out for a stroll or a bike ride.
I picked up a BBQ chicken and will be having that with salad for lunch. Then a bit of sewing and some chaise and reading time while the girls sleep under the pine tree. Summer is here!
Hey, Pooky! No rain here although it is looking a bit strange. It probably will rain now that I've watered!
