Hi Aces65,

I have read both but have not tried either. The Zone seemed too complicated (I'm so lazy!) and Dr Schwarzbein is such a purist I was eager to try hers. But I have had much trouble in the past with hypoglycemia and her balanced diet includes a small friut with breakfast, and small carbs with every meal. I not only don't have the will power to eat only a HALF piece of toast or apple, I also cannot tolerate even that little sugar in the morning. I did very well on the CALP diet (Carbohydrate Addict's LifeSpan Program) and found it was much easier. Lost probably 40 pounds before I realized you must also watch calories with low carb diets (I am currently NOT following low carbs to the letter, only "sorta'" so am not losing weight.

Have you tried any low carb diet? How did you hear of those two?

I sure agree with Giggles on The Zone! Right now I am re-reading Schwartzbein and trying to decide if I can live with her boot camp and purist approach.

I was wondering the same myself about the "S" diet. 15 gms of carbs at one meal is a tease. I am trying to ween myself into going back on the CAD which I had good succes with the first time around.

Giggles your not kidding when you say you have to watch your calories also..... I made a big boo boo there too. When I did Suzanne Somers (SP?) diet I gained 3 lbs my first 2 weeks.... Dropped that one like a hot potato

Good luck.

Love, Leenie

If you all are thinking about Schwarz, maybe give a read to Suzanne Somers also. She has a lot of the same principles. We have some good losers in the Somercizing thread.
